  1. Thats it.

They are far superior, simple as that.

We had some decent spells but we are nowhere near that standard.

Manager, in my opinion, could have done better. Turnbull s nerve had gone after his goal mistake, he was really bad after that and should have been hooked earlier.

Montgomery wasn’t at the races and should have been hooked for Scales.

Rogic and Turnbbul ? Not together.

Full backs constantly caught out of position.

    Bitton has regressed

The real positives, Kyogo and the Greek getting on the pitch, also Jota’s consistency.

    We are where we are.

We need a couple of players, but all is not list.

    stupid and naive ?

will defend all things celtic, even against wonderful informed smarter than me inputs with examples from your good self.

    aye,

    i am a zealot ?

wtf does that shite patter come from.

in respect for wider things happening this week, i shall depart for tonight and leave you with your expert opinions.

    ps, i like sarcasm.

  3. I’ll stick with Ange.

So sorry to read about Delaneys Dunky – my thoughts are with his loved ones.

    Good night good Celts

  4. Anyone recall a stat recently going around about our European opponents and how we are disproportionately up against teams from the top 5 leagues in comparison to newco since they first played in Europe?

We never get the ‘easier’ groups.

Anyway, I’m stepping aside to let the moaners moan.

Not an unexpected result. Some positives. Hopefully Ange will use two CDMs in Germany but probably not. Goodnight and may your god go with you

  5. We had a team in years gone bye that contained in the midfield Paul hartley and Barry Robson, we were competitive in Europe it also contained McManus Telfer and Caldwell in defence, the present team cannot continue to play this way , lose goals and shatter its self belief , Rodgers also thought he could go toe to toe with class teams and got several hefty tankings, this manager needs to wise up, his not a backward step philosophy is fine as a sound bite, but, the team needs solid foundations we have a goalkeeper nothing else a midfield that teams walk past and rely on Kyogo way too much, he will not last unless he tempers what he is doing and make the big calls about being balanced in midfield, get defenders to defend and not charge up the park leaving huge gaps to teams with pace. His call he continues like this he will be out by Christmas.

  6. BL are not a top rank / quality team.

However they are effective / efficient / enterprising.

They worked our shape and our weaknesses to the max.

We charged up the park with options everywhere only to cross the ball for their GK to catch.

They charged up the park and made every attack count with people taking responsibility.

We couldn’t wait to pass it on to some one else.

Their shot is on target and is a worldie and a goal.

Our shot is off target and a lost ball — NB you really are at it.

It is not class / quality / talent.

It is attitude / appetite / intelligence.

  7. Why is Neil Lennon commenting on anything poor about a Celtic performance. 4 goals conceded against Cluj and 4 goals conceded against Sparta Prague. At least Leverkusen are atop team.

  8. Bhoy From The Boyne on

    Fairhill Bhoy,

I can’t argue against the point that Ange needs to bring pragmatism to his game plan when it’s required.

Tonight being a perfect example. Turnbull & Rogic shouldn’t start together its 1 or the other. The inverted full backs is high risk and will see us lose against quality teams.

Ange did however go for the 2 holding midfielders eventually in mid 2nd half. But it was too late. Needed 4-2-3-1 from the start.

  9. Teams that work harder than us and move and pass better will always beat us …our only hope is to take any chances that come along.

Too many players standing still not giving options for a pass.

  10. The ball moved unhindered through our midfield most of the game.

That’s the problem, the rest is ar*e gravy

  11. Id like to see a bit of defiance from Ange in his post match comments. Read the room, the fans are restless,

We now need to go on a winning league run between now and Xmas.

We did look a different team with Kyogo up front, He should run riot in Scotland

ECL..a bonus, lets start knocking shit out of the domestic teams and get some momentum

  12. JACKIEMAC-sorry mate

Just getting annoyed at the excuses being made.

Bedtime before I upset anyone else 🍀

  13. MARKIEBHOY on 30TH SEPTEMBER 2021 10:12 PM

I thought that against Midtjylland and I’ve thought it almost every game since.

Defenders will make mistakes and forwards will miss chances but games are controlled in midfield and without the ball, our midfield is non-existent.

We can’t afford to have both Rogic and Turnbull in the same midfield.

  14. 67 European Cup Winners on

    For those suggesting don’t panic

Ang picks the team and instructs the tactics

    Yet

He plays Tom Rogic every week and every week TR struggles to move

He plays 2 wingers each produce 10 minutes of good stuff meaning for 80 minutes they are doing nothing

We all accept that BL are a very good team yet we play 3 up front and 3 attacking midfield players and 2 attacking full backs

AP has not shown any sign of understanding how to set up a football team

FFS Aberdeen now all they have to do is stick 10 behind the ball and wait for a break

    We have no idea

BTW I watched the Huns tonight very rarely was there not at least 7 of them behind the ball

They teach you this before you even start working on your badge

Yet we rarely have 5 behind the ball

Its this naive attitude the scares me

  15. Rebuild going well.

Might take a few seasons, maybe a bit longer.

But don’t worry the Club’s in good hands.

  16. MADRARUA on 30TH SEPTEMBER 2021 10:04 PM

We need a couple of players, but all is not list.

    ………….

Very good critique of the game and where we are. We need better players to carry out Ange’s system and he needs to find a bit of pragmatism when he gets them. Until then he needs to play to the strengths of the players he has and not ask them to do what they’re not capable of doing. Jock Stein would never have asked players to do that. He always played to the strengths of his players.

  17. No great shock for me tonight.I knew how good Leverkusen were.Surprised how well we played against them.Could have scored 3 goals.Kyogo,Calmac,Gio,all back,so good.Hopefully Jullien,Forrest,Juranovic, back after Internationals. We will kick on.

    Onto Aberdeen.

GB need to get back to what they do well.Banners were great, songs from the 70s.They are much more creative than that.

  18. geebee1978

Yes we need box to box midfielders, big engines, Rogic just doesn’t have that.

If Rogic had a good engine he wouldn’t be playing for us. Turnbull is young and a Covid victim.

We need a new Scott Brown – but younger.

  19. how far we have fallen , how far we have let the board level of ambition drag us down with them.

4-0 at home is ok against a top German team is now ok?

    WTF Bhoys!

No team, NO TEAM should ever come to Celtic Park and stroll around scoring for fun! At home, we should beat most teams and at the very least go down fighting.

The board are an absolute shambles and Simply don’t care about the football side of the business as much as they care about stadium lights, charity and profit making.

Lawell got lucky then complacent – now we are paying there price.

  20. The brutal reality of where we are. We’re fighting it out for third spot in Europe.

I’m not going to go off on one over Leverkusen, they’re clearly the much better side.

No excuses for Sunday. We simply must win.

  21. Some good things…….many bad …..4 players away…..wish other players had ralston heart and commitment……wish he had skill……

We have a keeper ………we play far better with kyogo

We love to shoot ourselves in the foot….quite incredible really

I felt worse on Sunday……hopefully giomacus touch improves !!…looked rough…..

Mccarthy is a total waste of money

Abada kept trying and hopefully improves….but I prefer a fit James forrest for big games …

    3 points on Sunday….please!!!

  22. My friends in Celtic,

This was always a hard ask.

I really don’t know what to think, I have seen us play far, far worse, but it’s hard to be positive.

Defeat becomes a habit and I feel there is a certain acceptance of defeat.

I include myself in this acceptance and that is the really sad part.

I remember not too long ago we had fortress Parkhead. Teams had to fight to beat us and they knew they were in a game.

We are sadly lacking in mental determination.

    HH.

  23. Don’t know if I’m in the minority, but I thought we PLAYED pretty well. Sure we missed chances, their keeper made some fabulous saves, as did Joe Hart, we contributed to our own downfall.

But still our football was good.

Calum and Kyogo getting injury free game time was an added bonus.

We should be back to scudding teams starting this weekend.
