Impossible to watch that without ” attacking , exciting and entertaining ” ringing in my ears..

Reading back nearly as depressing as watching last night

  3. My friendship in Celtic

Dissapointing is an understatement. Not just the result but the performance of highly paid professionals. I believed the RD route was the correct one for us. I still do, although the book has maybe closed for Ronny individually.

Ronny may have to go, but will it just be business as usual for our under performing, overpaid non triers. ? Not for me it won’t. I can accept players being poor, but not giving 100 percent: Never

In my opinion if Ronny has to go then notice should be served that certain players will soon be following him. We may have to start from scratch, but so be it..

As for showing dissatisfaction and disillusionment. Totally understand fans who are more verbal than others.. ( although the GTF chant is a disgrace)

There is nothing more demoralising for players than a less than half full .Parkhead. Far, far worse than booing.

Nobody has answered :- how do fans who make the effort to drag themselves away from a nice warm house or telly show their disgust to non tring players. ?

To clap like seals and cheer on players who are not giving their all or acting out petty agendas is nothing shot of hypocritical.

We the fans are not daft: tactics may be incorrect, substitutions may be incorrect, signing policy may be incorrect but that is never an excuse for not giving 100 percent effort.

Certain players are blatantly not giving everything. I and collectively we should never forget this , no matter where our managerial future lies. Gutless as per the banner is unforgivable.

Hail, Hail to all and especially for those who made the effort last night.

  6. It seems to be the general opinion that certain players are not trying. One wonders why. Have they simply lost confidence or are they against our manager? Very strange, imo. Our captain seems to have changed character since he got injured. Very odd.

Paul 67, if you’re lurking, you have told us many times that if you give players an excuse to fail they will take it. Ronny now says we could lose the league. Do the math.

  9. i'vehadtochangemyname on

jeez it feels awful after that last night – I felt better after some of euro wallopings – that was as unpleasant an indication of where we are going as a club as you can get – we were let off the hook by a middling spl team at celtic park and we had nothing to offer, we have many average/jobbing/alright on a good day players.

  10. Last night I had an almost identical experience as eddiek

Had to leave before I became as Hunnish as those singing for a CELTIC manager to get to fuck.

Apologise for the swear word but in no way could I disguise it,

Never came close to knuckling a fellow Celtic man at a game but last night I almost did,

I am not sticking up for any player or member of the management team, even a blind man can see somethings wrong, VERY. Wrong, Ffs booing Celtic players and cheering a Dundee player coming on, absolutely disgusted with some CELTIC fans last night. I’m as frustrated as anyone, but we need to get behind the team right now, to see seasoned professional footballers terrified to make a pass was heartbreaking,

  11. Rock Tree Bhoy on

He’s signed 20 odd players, most of them midfielders who when they do play are not played in their best position, he clearly doesn’t know his best 11, he cant motivate the team, that much is painfully obvious, the real mystery is how come we’re still top of the league. Not for much longer though unless we thank him for his services and pay him off.

  12. Will there be Stock Exchange notification today?

  13. The Johnatron on

Anyone else think our form has stalled with the return of broony? Coincidence?

  14. I think it’s pretty clear Ronny’s time is up. I suspect he knows it, and the players do too.

This prompts two very important questions:

    1. Does he leave now, before the end of season, allowing us to get in an emergency appointment to take us over the line?

    2. To what extent will the club’s problems be solved by the removal of Ronny? At what point do we look at the senior management and the roles they have played in a half decade of decline?

Personally, I rate our chances of winning the league at 60-40. Failure to secure 5 in a row would be, without a shadow of a doubt, the greatest failure of a Celtic team in my lifetime, and I suspect for many decades before that.

    It really is that stark.

  15. Masty,

I wasn’t there last night but I can imagine your situation. Explains too a lot about the players. If they’re frightened by the crowd (and I remember a couple of weeks ago the crowd were on Boyata’s back in the first 5 minutes), it’s not too surprising if they don’t look for the ball.

  16. The Johnatron,

Possibly. He doesn’t look fit to me. However, given none of us has any idea what the manager’s preferred midfield unit actually is, it’s difficult to pinpoint the precise failures.

In general, I’d say our midfield is indisciplined, doesn’t support the back four, and lacks bite in the tackle. Armstrong and GMS are fainthearts, Johanssen is a loose cannon, and Lord only knows what’s going on with Biton, Commons, and Rogic.

  17. Mr pastry

I know and you know we probably have at least 100 more employees than Dundee,

We have an enormous budget compared to them I agree, but making it look worse is not helping, as I posted earlier somethings very wrong at Celtic park, every player that played last night is/ was proven in a Celtic top, the mood / energy is gone,

  18. Masty, I heard a strong rumour this week that Moyes will be manager in the summer. He has agreed to take over and Ronny is out the door.

I can’t vouch for the veracity of this, other than to say it came from a decent source. If true, i really wonder whether Ronny has just chucked it and the players can sense it too. Look at Man City – in freefall since they announced the departure of Pellegrini.

  20. Park head

When I say terrified I am not using that word lightly, you could see it in their eyes,

None wanted the ball nor be the player to lose it, shocking by some, from the very first minute, 3 minutes into the game a clown behind me had Morton beating us,

Corbyn’s only been in one contest.

“Comparisons of Celtic with units of car sales at Nissan or whoever, turns folk cold. It might excite Management Consultants but sadly it doesn’t fill seats at Celtic Park. “

My making posts on CQN is hardly designed to fill seats at CP so it is pointless to criticise it for failing in an intent it never had in the first place. The mention of the car stats was simply to refute the nonsense that CEOs in other industries regularly lose their jobs for crimes equivalent to failing to win. Football is unique in its high turnover of managers, especially amongst the unsuccessful clubs. The point being made was about the madness of always looking for the sacking solution. Plus, I added to the car analogy the example of EPL clubs who sack. I anticipated and headed off the charge of “That’s irrelevant to football fans” but I still got the jibe directed at me as you ignored the football part of the analogy.

“If anyone at Celtic is displaying a sense of entitlement I would suggest it might be some of the playing staff? The coaches? And more obviously the board. “

It might well be some of them too but it is also some of our fans and there is no getting away from that. The accusation is not leveled at all fans or even at all critics. The majority of fans did not indulge themselves with booing. The ones that did indulged their entitlement.

“Booing of the team is unacceptable but I don’t think that many in the support, are willing to sit at the back of the bus, if they sense that the team, coaching staff or Board are selling them short. “

The opposite of booing is not “sitting at the back of the bus” or any other socially inferior position. It is supporting your team when you are there. The Green Brigade manage that and, within their ranks, there will be many who do not fancy Ronny or Peter or any other pantomime villain.

  24. Such a crazy game last night – we kept saying that we would come alive – it didn’t happen – Hartley sees that our bottle has gone and brings on Hemmings,Harkins and Stewart to finish the job – bewildering.

There will be around 12k on Sunday, if we’re lucky – I’ll be there as I don’t go to away matches, except Firhill – but not looking forward and will nit be surprised if we don’t win…..sad

  25. Parkheadcumsalford on 3rd March 2016 8:38 am

Sorry, I can’t agree. A highly paid professional footballer not looking for the ball? There is absolutely no excuse for that. If he can’t handle that kind of pressure he shouldn’t be there.

If we’re looking at culpability for the present malaise, the fans who are turning up, booing or not are way down the list.

    It’s always a bad sign when…

More a sense of apathy than excitement walking up to the ground

Two tims pulled apart in the Jock Stein when one frustrated rocket had a go at young Tierney.

Walking back to the car with only the sound of hundreds of footsteps.

The rot has been allowed to set in. The buck stops at PL.
