The same so called fans hunted GS out the door.

    Another disgrace in my eyes

  2. I would imagine the board will bunker down, say nothing try to ride the storm until the end of the season and hope we win the title. It’s obvious that their ‘strategy’ is wait for Sevco to get promotion into Premiership and hope that leads to an increase in STs. It probably will but won’t change the fact that in 17 of the 19 home games half of those who buy STs won’t bother turning up.

Squire Danaher – Why what’s Strachan gonna do?

His tactics and management style should be consigned to the last century where they belong.

  4. Thought the atmosphere last night was pretty nasty how people think that will make players perform better is beyond me.

That being said what we watched last night was dreadful if Ronny remains in charge I think we will lose the league. But when he goes he shouldn’t be the only one the man behind his appointment should go as well .

May I play devil’s advocate: Maybe the board are doing a Nikki Lauda (I think it was) who believed in going as slow as possible when winning a race. Just doing enough to win, no more.

Nah, it’s not a very good analogy is it?

  6. Not a time for discussion any more. Simply put , Ronny must go before the the league title does.

    Over to you PL.

So, with 10 games to play, we are 4 points better off than Aberdeen (63 v 59) and have a vastly superior goal difference.

Looking at form over our last 5 games, we have taken 8 points from a possible 15.

In their last 5 games, despite also being inconsistent, Aberdeen have taken 10 points from 15.

If that form continued for the next 10 games, we both end up on 79 points and we are left clinging to our superior goal difference like a life raft.

I am a million miles away from being a supporter who expects us to win everything but given our respective budgets, that is simply not good enough.

Something has to give cause if nothing changes, we may not even take 16 points from our 10 remaining games.

    Modern football .

Early morning phone call from my Arsenal season ticket pal. He related a tale of sitting next to Arsenal fans from Helsinki last night . Arsenal tops , Arsenal scarves , Gooners baseball caps etc etc. Spoke Finnish to each other, jeered , booed and barracked Wenger and the players in good English —————-.

For the first time in years I am not convinced we will win the league . I do not feel confident that we would beat any of the top 6 teams at home .

There is a terrible lack of confidence throughout the team . Negativity from the half full stands rubbing off on the team.

Our five games before the split. Who’s confident of 15 points?

  14. We all want 10 in a row.

That goal is very much in jeopardy.

Our players are hiding , scared to play naturally, for fear of abuse from the crowd, IMO .

I have backed Ronny throughout his time and will continue to do so until the end of the season .

Our job is to support, to encourage.

    We ain’t doing that.

If and when the title is secured the general malaise in Paradise must be addressed.

Ronny will be the first casualty but the real culprits will escape.

Unarguably, a dreadful performance last night by a majority of the team and a large proportion of the `support`.

By the end, the players were devoid of confidence and much of the crowd were devoid of reason.

According to some, we have been like that all season. Last night gave the lie to that claim.

Finally, I would like to point out this:

“Nobody has answered :- how do fans who make the effort to drag themselves away from a nice warm house or telly show their disgust to non tring players. ? ”

Does anyone on CQN have to `drag` themselves to Celtic Park?

Frustration is understandable but exaggeration weakens any point.

Two options there are only available:

    Back Ronny, or sack him.

If they decide to gas the manager – you bring in either David Moyes or Brendan Rogers – it’ll be an expensive move financially regardless.

Now it’s up to Dermot Desmond to take over the reins and get one of them installed, at least until the end of the season.

That other dunderhead shouldn’t be allowed any say in matters of football anymore.

    Mistake after mistake.

He should have been sacked after we squandered a 7 point lead in January – thus allowing that dead club to trudge along for another 4 seasons.

    HH.

  17. Have any of our players, management or custodians correctly stated they are a New Club?

Harkins was cheered for good reason last night.

The reaction towards the manager at full time is very wrong but there comes a breaking point for everyone. We all have different ways of expressing our dissatisfaction. Many it would seem reached that point months ago and have chosen to stay away, others prefer to stay & boo.

    Which is more worrying?

Booing can soon be turned to cheers but there is much trust to repair before we see fans returning week in week out. Yes the manager needs replaced ASAP, he’s clearly lost the dressing room but he’s far from the only issue that needs changing at Celtic right now.

We all like to see a winning team but positive results have just been papering over the gaping cracks. The fans desperately need some honesty, we are sick of watching a bent sport. Is it any wonder tempers are flared. when the team like our custodians aren’t performing to an acceptable level.

Getting hard to watch. No passion from the players wearing the hoops except young Tierney. At the game last nite a lot of angry hoops around me. We need a big changes here from management and a new captain who can motivate a team when things are getting on top. Also cut out the bullshit after the games saying were devastated and must try harder. You are the lucky one’s who get to wear the hoops prove you’re good enough or get out a the east end. Very angry tim.

    ———————————————-

The answer to that is very clear. We have Cira 40 k season ticket holders. Probably about half of them will watch the game on Kodi, Sky, BT or mobdro etc. the term “drag” is not over dramatic it’s the reality at present. Attendance figures are judge and jury. With respect ,not my opinion, not your opinion.

Secondly I see no coherent answers to the question posed.

  25. And before I go

It’s not the fans who are giving the non field displays

It’s not the fans that are failing to manage our team/squad of players correctly

So stop making excuses for that group

And Yes the fans should be behind the team

  26. Very poor display with those players wearing Celtic jerseys last night not acceptable for me at all, your a Celtic player, act like one, the manager is going through a difficult time I agree we all do at our jobs at some point or other, that was a tools down job those players did last night and that’s not on, and the Celtic support last night just couldent wait for the half time whistle to boo the team of the park, I’m sure that helped? It’s way way over the top with the support, last night was bad REALY bad, I won’t be there Sunday as I don’t do SFA/SPFL cup games, I’m actually doubting if I’ll be back to another home game this season to sit among those supporters, be upset,? Sure, that’s all part of the game, but that so called support last night I don’t want to be part of.

In saying that I must give Dundee credit for the way they played and stuck to they’r plan, ten men behind the ball and counter attacking like most teams are doing to us these days, let’s hope they do well in they’r cup game at the weekend, although I have my doubts.

All round last night it was a poor display from the team and the fans last night, the new breed of fans are not for me, nor let it be said me for them, I think I’ll just let them get on with it and see where it gets them, I honestly do not want to be around them, not all? Just the ones who wouldent know the meaning of the word class.

  28. Tuesday 3rd

I’m feeling exceptionally well today. (It’s only the third day, I know, but all the same I’m feeling great.) I had a visit this morning with two reporters, David Beresford of The Guardian and Brendan O Cathaoir of The Irish Times. Couldn’t quite get my flow of thoughts together. I could have said more in a better fashion.

    63 kgs today, so what?

A priest was in. Feel he’s weighing me up psychologically for a later date. If I’m wrong I’m sorry — but I think he is. So I tried to defuse any notion of that tonight. I think he may have taken the point. But whether he accepts it, will be seen. He could not defend my onslaught on Bishop Daly — or at least he did not try.

I wrote some notes to my mother and to Mary Doyle in Armagh; and will write more tomorrow. The boys are now all washed. But I didn’t get washed today. They were still trying to get men their first wash.

I smoked some ‘bog-rolled blows’ today, the luxury of the Block!

They put a table in my cell and are now placing my food on it in front of my eyes. I honestly couldn’t give a damn if they placed it on my knee. They still keep asking me silly questions like, ‘Are you still not eating?’

I never got started on my poem today, but I’ll maybe do it tomorrow. The trouble is I now have more ideas.

Got papers and a book today. The book was Kipling’s Short Stories with an introduction of some length by W. Somerset Maugham. I took an instant dislike to the latter on reading his comment on the Irish people during Kipling’s prime as a writer: ‘It is true that the Irish were making a nuisance of themselves.’ Damned too bad, I thought, and bigger the pity it wasn’t a bigger nuisance! Kipling I know of, and his Ulster connection. I’ll read his stories tomorrow.

Ag rá an phaidrín faoi dhó achan lá atá na buachaillí anois. Níl aon rud eile agam anocht. Sin sin. (Translated this reads as follows: The boys are now saying the rosary twice every day. I have nothing else tonight. That’s all.)
