  1. December is a busy month for us. Brendan will hope to utilise his squad fully and expect them to get him 3 points. He will probably learn quite a bit about his full complement of players during this month

  2. Thought we lacked leadership on the pitch in the last 20 mins or so. Brown anc Lustig missed in that respect. Gamboa had a good first half which was positive. Madhun was Hunnish as per. 3 points and move on.

  3. Gerryfaethebrig on

I hope Moussa Dembelle wears the hoops for many a season……

    Leigh Griffiths = goals…..

Our Leigh could break records maybe even rival that bhoy with the dreadlocks

For me Leigh is number 9 (number 1 striker)

I would give Leigh a 10yr contract ala Jim McLean at Dundee Utd (no get out clauses)

Dena…….I have not been on the blog but those hugs you seemingly give out plenty from ML5 for you & mini, Hebcelt keep on keeping on………brilliant news for both family’s

CQN does far more good than bad and for the record TD67 your view on the hoops is very similar to mine, not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing for you :-)

  4. Two brilliant goals,80 mins total domination, then we get the jitters.First time I have to fault the manager this season.5 changes not really a bad thing but against teams who sit back you need width.Paddy should have played at least. Not as if he has been overplayed this season.Gamboa had a great first 20 mins, then it stopped.Izzy played well, but you cannot always depend on your full backs being the wide men.

The passing was good, but some of the first touches were terrible, causing us to lose possession.

Still, the run goes on.We need to get that killer instinct back before Hogmanay.Rogic would have buried that chance 99% of the time.Moussas shooting was deplorable twice.

Still happy with the 3 points as we are looking a wee bit jaded with good cause.

  5. sixtaeseven - 65 trophies in my lifetime on

Our Bhoys have played a LOT of football since Red Imps (early July).

They have done us proud in 4 major tournaments … but tiredness is beginning to creep in.

December is a big ask with 9 games in that short time.

Injuries are starting to mount up (Rogic today…) but our discipline has been first class – so no big worries about suspensions.

So, today’s 2-1 will do fine, thanks very much.

However, I am really disappointed with Aberdeen, Hearts, St J et al.

Their confidence, energy, resolve … in fact their fitba … of recent seasons has evaporated.

Have they all caught Rangeritis ?

    Jeeez….

  6. Alastair Maclean- I take umbridge to your calling the stadium the dump, its reclaimed land don’t you know, paid for by the common good fund, and a perfect place for a stadium to be built on the Baltic Sea level plains of the moray firth! Back handers and side deals(my interpretation, councils for you;)) by the way , I was a jags fan and despise everything about the blue side of the town(cos it is a town) eagle dumping on the thistle, what were you thinking mr macdonald!!!!!

    JOE FILIPPIS HAIRCUT

We already have two great strikers at the club makes no sense to me to sell one of them, the Bhoy has been with us six months and the first sign of a cheque and folk are shout take the money:)))

Agreed, the kid is 19 for Gods sake.Because the idiot SMSM are trying to sell him to anybody, some fans expect him to be Messi. How many times has the boy said he is here to learn,he wants to learn. He knows he has a good way to go,but everything is there as we all witnessed at the start. How people can forget how good he was as soon as he hits a wee bad spell is astonishing.

  8. Just back in from game. Played very well in first half and but for bad finishing (Griffiths and Rogic) and some good saves by their keeper it could have been 4 or 5 at half time. Not as good in second half. No one played particularly well, but no one played that bad either. Four more games to go in this ridiculous run of nine games in December.

On the Griffiths v Dembele debate, interesting listening to BR post match when asked if Griffiths was now the number one pick striker. No was the answer, he has a lot of things he needs to improve on, one being giving the ball away cheaply.

I would just enjoy having two top class strikers fighting for a place in the team, think back to the options we had last season, if Griffiths got injured we had Ciftci, and that was all.

  9. just back from game, thought we played ok up until the final third when we could not make the telling pass through the parked bus. we caused out own problems at the back late in the game by some very slack across the park passing and poor first touch especially from NB, both our full backs tired late on as well.

good 3 Pts. as we were up against a very one sided ref.

  10. Very happy today with Gamboa,Izzy,Armstrong, and apart from one bad attempted pass out of defence,Biton.Kept the ball moving the whole game and a great strike.GMS,Christie, good in wee spells.Lack of games a factor.LG just LG.Stunning free kick, and so unlucky with an outrageous effort that hit the post.

3 points and a wee breather for a fair few.

  11. Alasdair MacLean on

    Snecker,

I have clear train journey memories of the scenic representation of Failte gu Inverness…..netting over rubbish, seagulls and mud. The Kessock bridge opening in 1982 opened a roadside version of this splendid vista – until it was taken over by Scottish football’s (now 2nd) newest team.

  12. Good result, decent performance. Our foul count is high for two reasons: firstly our forwards make plenty tackles and they are shite at tackling, secondly the MIB’s look to favour the opposition.

Very good first half and Griff and Rogic should have ended great moves with goals. We did drop the pace at 2-0 and caused our own problems by losing shape and purpose.

Anyone who thinks we should sell either Griff or Moussa is not seeing that they are good players with a lot to learn. We need the two of them, we miss Moussa’s physical presence and if he plays we miss the direct runs of Griff.

Each of them have a lot to offer but neither of them is the complete striker. We cannot afford a Larsson, we have to find one.

I am delighted we have the two of them and hope we will still be debating this in 18 months time. It is my opinion that Griff has reached the zenith of his career path, Moussa can, and may , go on and be greater player with a bigger club in Europe. It is a regret we cannot offer him that destination merely help him along the way.

Anyway, time for a wee cider. Be careful everyone.

  13. Not long in from game, great crowd considering the time of year.I thought gamboa got done for the goal a bit to easily and how did they miss that chance at the end,it was a bit toms in first half,so I’m blaming the pitch:-)))

  14. I just received this E-mail and thought it important to pass it on.

If they are doing this in the Sttates then it will come to the UK soon if not already there……….HH

    WARNING FROM POLICE

THIS APPLIES TO BOTH WOMEN AND MEN

BEWARE OF A PIECE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE–NEW WAY TO DO CARJACKING (NOT A JOKE)

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating.. You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into reverse..

When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.

So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women. A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want it to fall into the wrong hands.

Please keep this going and tell all your friends

Aff oot to a surprise 40th (on the good lady’s side) funnily enough its in the very local Bowling Club, I have a funny feeling football will not be a topic of conversation with 95% of the residents ……

Even better they all know me so they will know my smile

when “Last Christmas” gets played should be good as MissGFTB has been singing the Brendan Rodgers version with her wee pals from school all week……. With no prompting from her father :-)

  16. GARY67

I think Brendan is right about Griff.

He does not retain the ball well enough to be the lone striker.

He is a very good finisher and has skill but needs to improve as a team player.

I thought it was noticeable that when Dembele came on we started to play some nice one two’s around the box and apart from poor finishing we could have scored more

We did miss Brown as in the last twenty minutes we looked vulnerable to them running straight through the middle.

Bitton scored a good goal and did okay but he offers no protection for our centre backs.

This area and another striker needed to take us forward.

Also i think Gamboa is okay going forward but a defensive liability.

  17. 3 points is 3 points, but TD 67 is correct : entertainment must be encouraged. How do we convince visiting managers to do this, I don’t know.

However I do know Lisa is wrong, Dragon Soup is fine. At one time at Celtic games you could even tell what part of the country we hailed from by the brand of Dragon Soup .

    HH.

  18. Get rid of that Dembele, useless so he is……..

MOUSSA Dembele has been named the best French Under-21 player of the year in a prestigious poll organised by TV channel TF1 in France.

The 20-year-old Celtic striker has been in sparkling form since joining the Hoops from Fulham in the summer, and the award is an acknowledgement of his displays for both club and country, with Dembele also producing a number of impressive displays for the French Under-21 side.

Since signing for Celtic, Dembele has scored 17 goals in all competitions, which has included a hat-trick in the 5-1 demolition derby victory over Rangers back in September, the winning goal in the League Cup semi-final and goals against Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.

And having gained his first call-ups to the French Under-21 squad as a result of his Celtic form, he’s scored four goals in four games for his country.

Now, this latest accolade is another sign of the player’s outstanding quality, as well as further vindication of his decision to sign for the Scottish champions.

  19. Gamboa is a right footed Izaguirre. Better going forward than defending, gets into great positions but poor delivery into the box. The pair of them are good back up to our best, Lustig and KT, but won’t threaten them as number one choices.

  20. 2-1 going on 5 – 2

Delighted for Leigh Griffiths getting his goal today from a belter of a free kick. Could have been a Hatrick for the wee Elf but for a tad misfortune hitting the post after some superb play and a couple of shots that he should have troubled the keeper with.

Big Bittons strike was sublime but for me he still tends to slow the pace of our midfield down.

Rogic was a big loss in the second half and I hope his ankle injury isn’t too bad. We missed his drive, ballet feet and touch of control throughout the second half.

Kris Commons did ok today given his lack of time on The Park. :-@))

Bobby Madden was outstanding playing his SFA role wonderfully breaking up play, gifting non free kicks to Dundee and failing to adhere to rules when player went through the back two footed from behind. Well done ya dirty Hun b_ _ _ _ _ _!

Good first run out as captain for SA. Good experience for him but still a lot to learn before he is anywhere near accomplished for that role. I’m sure Broony or Kris will guide him well.

Brendan Rodgers was a disappointment. Never kicked a baw the whole 93 minutes. Just whistling, pointing, coaching and writing notes from the sidelines. Thought he could have done with substituting himself at half time.

Oor defence plays well in the main with big Jozo looking better by the week alongside Sviachenko. Gambio also had a good game a couple of moments aside as did Izzie. But for all they looked comfortable for 80 mins the last 10 was a tad nervy for my linking from them as a unit.

Dundee did their job. Stayed in game through luck and good refereeing from the SFA giving them a chance to get something from nothing in last few minutes.

Parking the bus, tank and any other vehicle will be the common thread for the remainder of our season. Frustrating for the team and us but we are a runaway train with a final destination that is looking unstoppable even with our wee occasional drops in tempo.

    MWD

  21. TET,

You are right saying that some of Madden’s decisions today were mystifying. Those around me, like myself, ended up just laughing at him. It was way beyond the old “honest mistakes”. He is either incompetent or a cheat.

  22. FAN-A-TIC,agree with you regarding Gamboa, although he did a great covering job in the second half and just took it of the Dundee players toes

  23. Alistair Maclean, sorry if it never came across the right way, words can never capture the sarcasm, my point was that I agree with you, as I said, I was a thistle fan and despised the rankers of the north, was proud to be a black and red all over(class fanzine) grew up with the elephant man being a hun, but loved titchy and Brian black, davie milroy. My mate at school was roshie frasers son, so saw all the 1984 games when we won the league. Always been a Celtic fan, but if I was to support a north team it would be the lilywhites.

  24. Congratulations to Moussa Dembele, French under 21 player of the year, that’s quite an accolade for a Bhoy who chose to go to a club where he would be recognised and nurtured as a player.

Well done Son may you wear the Hoops with pride:))

  25. FAIRHILL BHOY

He did make that great tackle in the second knocking ball away from the forward and probably saved a goal.

    His speed is excellent.

But he seems poor positionally as their goal highlighted.

He did not read the play well and was in a poor position then slipped trying to recover.

‘Moussa should stay at Celtic de Glasgow for at least two seasons and develop as a player,’ says Zinedine Zidane…

Now who’s opinion should I be wise to consider regards making up my mind about the new French U-21 player of the year?

  28. VFR800 IS NOW A MONSTER 821

Worst player in the team ;-). In fairness it was a great finish, passed it into the net. And he wasn’t as bad as he’s been but he just doesn’t fit into the style of play anymore, too slow, too ponderous, wants too many touches. In addition he offers zero protection to the defence.

Would be best for him if he leaves next month.
