  1. In a very few minutes, I will be watching Sportscene. It will be interesting to hear the pundits` views on the game. Willie Miller was refreshingly positive on Radio Shortbread yesterday as ACGR and I made our way home.

We both thought the game was a replica of that V Hamilton ie we played well for the firs half our or so but missed our chanced to put the game to bed. Willie just said we outclassed Dundee and fully deserved our victory.

    Cheerio for now,

    JJ

  2. Interesting game without SB.

Played some good stuff but the team was a little disjointed.

The lack of a bit of width on the left was the main issue of the first half.

RC looked to have a nothing position — neither No.10 or support striker.

EI was then given a lot of space but he had to work it all himself.

MIB was at it from the start.

Heavy tackles go in from HA and nothing is done.

Heavy tackle goes in from ES and it all calms down again.

Hopefully a lesson has been learned — in the SPL we have to sort out the issues ourselves.

  3. One minor complaint from yesterday.

The professional complainers / moaners / wind up merchants who seem to be part of our support.

Just why do they spend the money — free pie seat season ticket money in the North Stand seemingly — when everything the team do is dross and even worse words are routinely used.

The pair possibly troika of jokers yesterday were so bad I thought one of them was a Dundee supporter out for a corporate jolly.

He called every contentious incident for Dundee including the TR injury.

His sidekick was shouting for BR to get it sorted from the moment the mascots came out.

Incredible that fully sentiment adults want to spend good money being so disgusted.

I could understand Tory MP’s wanting to be degraded in that manner …

But football supporters, CFC supporters — just can’t work it out.

  4. HA — sorry got that wrong — should have been Dundee.

HA — the ghost of Christmas past x Two.

    It’s always been like that.

I have one mature gent who sits behind me, doesn’t speak much and only time you hear him is when a pass goes astray or a mistake is made in his view. Don’t why he bothers as he gets little joy even when we score.

I am used to a bit of negativity.

I am used to groans and moans.

I am used to some players getting stick.

I can cope with that — some clapping / shouts on unlucky / come on ?!?

Try to see the positive and try to offer encouragement during the heat of the game.

However the performance of seemingly big buck season ticket holders yesterday was incredible

It sounded like 3 people yesterday and they never stopped — everything was negative.

From a regional perspective they seemed to be Teuchters out on the sauce.

Some of the comments seemed to suggest that RC’s da had stolen his tractor.

Then it was GMS and how useless he was, SA was hopeless, thick and a waste of jersey.

This particular outburst was based on him re-spotting the ball at a corner.

Then they started on BR and why he seemed to be a homespun version of RD.

35 minutes I put up with this nonsense.

  7. TH @ 6.42

Neg2 is a big fan of GMS and SA.

Plus I don’t think RC’s da has ever stolen his tractor — if indeed NA owns a tractor.

35 minutes I put up with this nonsense.

What happened after the 35 minutes? Did you boot him in the hawmaws?-))

  9. GDT @ 6.57

    I couldn’t possibly comment.

However after 36 minutes he went into the lounge for the free pies.

So obviously he missed to goal which was a shame.

LG came looking for him during his celebration.

Unfortunately he was not to be seen.

  10. GFTB-glad you enjoyed your night. My son in laws family are newco fans and when we had one of their nights out in the bowling club they played simply the best a few times, each time our table got up and sang it like it was walk on,that annoys them more trust me:-))))

  11. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Evening all.

Just popped in to debunk myth.

Moussa Dembele did NOT get voted French U-21 player of the year recently.

If he had, it would have been a major, and much needed, coup for scottish football and would DEFINITELY have been reported on the national broadcasters website. They haven’t so it didn’t happen.

Perhaps they don’t want a particular ten day old story to fall off the Celtic page of the BBC football website.

If you are unsure of the story I refer to – check out the pictures accompanying another 10 day old story and an 11 day old report. You’ll see a theme.

Editorial integrity at BBC Sport Scotland? Not a bit of it.

Celtic should ban BBC Scotland forthwith and advise the corporation they will only engage with English based sports departments.

    Hail hail

  12. Pep improving things at Citeh, bit of steel going in there.

First time they’ve won a game after being behind at half-time since 2012!

No idea how many games they were actually losing at half-time in those years right enough.

  13. Madmitch- some of the comments i heard yesterday were ridiculous, obviously not been at the games for a few years.

    11 games 33 points….

  14. Madmitch- I sit three away from an absolute roster, who actually spoils my enjoyment at the game

The said “bowling club” my father in law was a founder member, not a bigoted bone in his body (unlike the rest :-) I was invited to a family occasion and hopefully I will never lower myself to bring football or religion into appoint scoring thing, am happy to argue with the best or the worst about football, but last night I just kept smiling, by all accounts I have been referred to as a happy clapper on here, believe it or not I still enjoyed Celtic in the late 80’s / early 90’s (sadly they were my best times) although Brendan might be changing all of that :-)

  16. I sat between two ghuys in their mid- to- late twenties on the plane coming over for the game yesterday. It was to be their first ever visit to Celtic Park.

I don’t know how it went for them but it is nice to see that generation being attracted to Celtic again.

  17. Barca v Espanyol to round off a full day. Last game was very rowdy as Espanyol fairly laid into Barca. If any of our MIB’s were in charge they would have approved.

  18. Big thank you to all those who bought the AICSC calendar. It was nice to meet Nás na Rí and share some stories of the ‘auld sod.

  19. CRC: Thanks for the invite to the Captain’s picture launch in aid of Wee Shay. CQNer and magnificent artist Thunder Road did the picture – a stunning pencil portrait of Celtic captains. All proceeds from the sales of copies of the picture will go towards the medical treatment of Wee Shay.

Well done to CRC for his dedicated efforts and hopefully the campaign will raise the money it needs to treat Shay.

  20. GFTB-eddlewood bowling club mhate, been to a few do’s in it.We all get on great by the way,we will never let it get in the way of family.Loved the late 80’s my self:-))

  21. Gerryfaethebrig on

Fairhill Bhoy in the early 90s I played in the Glasgow District Saturday morning league, our home games were between the Jock Stein (astro) and a cracking wee grass park in the middle of a scheme, it might have been Eddlewood ??? something with a wood in it in the Hamilton area…………

  22. Thanks to VFR for the use of his ticket in the standing section. There were no moaners in this section, just enthusiastic supporters who get behind their team and who encourage them for the ninety minutes.

I watched most of the game but I was so distracted by the brilliant Green Brigade that I never noticed Dundee scoring! I left the stadium thinking we won 2-0 and only discovered the real score while reading back the live updates in the airport.

VFR’s kind offer to me also meant that Big Jimmy got to see the game. Like CRC, VFR gave up most of his day working voluntarily for the benefit of others in their community.

Sipsini was another fan who showed outstanding kindness by giving out a large batch of match day programmes signed by Danny McGrain to those he met at CQN corner. Thank you J.

Enjoyed your company over a couple of beers last night. Keep me posted on the career path that your bhoy takes . Every right to be proud.

A good shout about the work CRC puts in (& Jobo) . Also the artistic talents of Thunder Road..

The calendars are top notch. HH
