    EL,

    Possibly true.

Freemasonry is like an onion, it has many layers before you get to the core.

Not so. It is pointing out-with various historic references-that some strange decisions have been made in the past.

    And not just re GSL.

Face the facts, mate. Had the death of Rangers been treated like the death of any other club-or indeed company-do you think we would have been playing them a few weeks ago?

With all of their history intact, and able to fire people with no legal recourse?

Course not. JJ is simply pointing out what we know. The country, and all of its institutions,is corrupt. And one certain wee select has made sure of that.

Success drives up the standards and expectations that’s a given for anyone with any sense of reality.

The people who pay the wages have every right to demand better, they are paying for it, so if you don’t like the customers demanding better for their hard earned then wear earplugs and giver yer ubershite a rest.

The players are paid megabucks to control a ball and entertain, they don’t have to work for an appitance compared to players, put it this way, if you played a bummer at your work and the company lost a load of money through your performance, what do you honestly think would happen? Really, do you think your manager would mark it down to a bad day or loss of form. But it’s ok.

Naw don’t be so copulating stupid, yer pumped, it’s the entertainment business and if the audience are not entertained then they have every right to let the performers know.

As for the game, I thought we had a decent game, seen us get less for better performances and get more from worse performances. I hated it when people found a whipping bhoy and have a moan but they paid their way.

Teams are now improving their game against us because they know they have to, it’s improving the quality of the game across the board, beating improved teams improves our own quality, it’s NA upward spiral.

Greetin about playing too many games is just looking for excuses, how many top quality games to the best play a season? If you want to compete with the big boys you have to succeed, don’t expect to succeed and get less games that’s just thick as mince talk.

KT does not look tired or jaded he is making the step up to becoming a top class player he either makes the transition or he hits a plateau. I expect another couple of weeks of plateau then we see the next stage in his development, £20M offers at the end of the season.

You commented earlier on the failures to make the breakthrough pass yesterday.

For what it is worth, it was the consensus of the watchers in the Costa pub that this was a feature of the game. The pass just was not strong or sharp enough to cut it.

It extended I thought to the breakthrough tackle, when winning the ball retained momentum and losing it the opposite.

I thought that a feature of the Hibs game too and in both we were missing Brown and Armstrong.

Over the piece it was a typical mid way CL match where the eye was on more than one ball and the goal came as a bit of relief that the unbeaten record would likely stay for Dundee could not be ruled out of scoring.

In that respect De Vries did much to suggest there is a goalie in there and Gamboa reminded us he is still first team quality.

Surprised Griffiths started, which suggest Dembele is not exactly setting the heather on fire in training – yet I hope.

    Onwards and upwards.

Can we get Christie back in January does anyone know?

  6. Canamalar,

The offers will be double that, and then some.

KT will stay for a wee while longer. ;)

    He is a Celt.

The guys decision making is the best I have seen.

Was pleasantly surprised by Dundee yesterday, apart from a few agricultural tackles on Paddy, for the most part they tried to play football, pressed our mids and defenders high up and bar a few quality saves from Doris could have came away with at least a point. All in all it was an entertaining game, well for a Scottish league game anyway, I could see them being top six.

*pity they didnae show this type of form 5 weeks ago at hades when they had the same accommodating ref.

  8. Watching Brighton v Everton and noticed Everton have separate advertising on sleeves.

    Liverpool also had yesterday.

Wee hypothetical question. If Sevco were to employ NFL as manager and maybe employ a couple of x-Celt players, would anyone on here support them?

Naw! Really. Then why the need to support Hibs. I’ll be delighted if we took 5 off them no matter who manages or plays for them

*me tae, they stopped being the Edinburgh Celtic many many years ago. As a wee bhoy I recall cheering them on against the jambos, my mother questioned this and when I replied about being originally similar tae us she said that was long ago and far away, with the jambos at least you know what you get, not with that hypocritical crowd. Right enough this was in the 50s and not long after the flag incident. Now with petrie involved they have more in common with the Edinburgh establishment than us.

  12. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Petec,

This is his next development stage, if the step is made and consistency is maintained then the sky is the limit for the bhoy.

    Auldheid,

Disagree on the eye on the target or the distraction of a bigger game, if that’s the case then they failed to make the grade, consistent quality against all opposition is the mark of quality not to shine in big games. Prima donnas that think they should be evaluated against the best are ten a penny, consistent high standards against all opposition is the datum.

Dundee played out their skin yesterday and we struggled to overcome them, that is the true level we are at, we are no as good as we’d thought or hoped.

  13. Johnny Russell is a guy we should have taken from DU,after Hooper left, 500k was a steal…

Ridiculous scheduling of our games angers BR We have to play a semi -final against Hibs 60 hours at lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon after playing Bayern Munich on the Wednesday Brendan Rodgers has accused Scottish football of losing its common sense

*Scottish fitba knows what its doing, this is all about stop the Celtic, we’ve always played on the Sunday much tae our disdain as the pitch at hunden is usually cut up by then affecting our flowing play, why not this time, even Stevie Wonder can see why. Nae offence tae the visually impaired BTW.

This isnae about stopping the 10, it’s about the 9. I know we did it not just first but with honesty and flair, however, that seems to have been lost in the annals of the Scottish game. We do another 9 and questions about the validity of theirs will be reopened once again and mibbees this time won’t be brushed under the black and white chequered carpet. It’s what keeps bader from being castigated by the hun hordes.

As for Wednesday, Belgium was the draw that turned intae a win for us; this hopefully could at best be a loss turned intae a draw. The Last 16 is nice and prosperous but let’s be honest here, no matter how romantic it sounds we are never going tae win the Big Cup again in its present format, however, the Europa is more our level now and we still have a job tae finish there. I still detest they pork and cheese after Seville, they are very talented but more cynical than the Argies.

  15. Canamalar

I tend to think we are not quite as good as we think.

We are a little one dimensional.

Teams have given us a tough time at Celtic park this season by simply pressing high.

When this tactic succeeds we struggle and seem to have no plan b.

They are also nullifying the threat of KT and Sinclair by pressing high and being very physical on KT.

Not like you to disagree :)

I agree with what we should aspire to, but don’t think we are anywhere near it and Dundee, like Hibs, played well, but with a fully fit first choice team and no distractions we can play better.

    Auldheid,

Thanks for the update on res12, it’s good to know some blogs are still actively seeking justice.

Did that meeting between BRTH and the Plc ever happen?

Way way back and I’ll waiting for an update

  18. Fan a tic- agreed with your take on the game yesterday, i think Brendan still looking for a No 10 to make the play, and thread passes through to the forwards.Very disjointed start to the season, injuries and pesky internationals getting in the way.

  19. Despite his goal yesterday i wasn’t impressed with Ntcham. He looks lost at times in the middle of the park and it worries me. In fairness his goal was very good.

As for the no10 position, i have long been calling for Paddy to play there. His ability is off the scale, but sometimes when he is out wide he beats one and two players and it’s difficult to find someone in the box as nobody is there and Griff keeps pulling out onto the penalty spot looking for the ball coming back out. Play Paddy in the no10 role and he will run riot or better still give him a free role. He is that good.

  20. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Auldheid,

We’re being told it’s more than aspiring too, most of the players on the park on Saturday know they’d be second choice unless they performed out their skin, none done that, not a player on the park gave the manager positive food for thought, it was more like forcing him to confirm the injured/rested were his best bet and that is a pretty sad reflection on the squad he put together/retained over the last two years. We barely coped at home and it’s not like there was that extra gear to step up. This was a chance for all them prospective talented bench warmers to make a mark and I’m to believe they had their eye on the munchen game, that was their big chance to put themselves in contention, not to be thinking of swapping shirts in a CL game.

Mump mump whinge whinge :) 3 points and record breaking undefeated run aside :) the difference in quality should have been more pronounced.

  21. Bada

I said at half time, take Ntcham off for Forrest, drop Calmac back in beside Eboue, Jamesy out wide and Paddy no10. Ntcham scored the winner obvs but i stand by the idea as we had no control in the 2nd half and could easily have dropped points. Ntcham probably only stayed on because we knew Kouassi wouldn’t last the 90.

  22. TTR- Not wanting to make excuses, but i don’t think the players trust the pitch, to play 1 touch passing, good to see Kouassi back, i think he will be a player if he can stay fit.

  23. Bada

If the pitch is an issue we need to get down there for a few training sessions. I don’t think it is. There is a lack of fluency and intensity for a lot of the home games, i think down to a few issues. Mental and physical fatigue, the players thinking about bigger matches and the amount of changes to the team due to the scheduling and injuries.

  24. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Fan-a-tic,

I like most here seriously hoped we’d click into the fluent football we’ve seen in fits and starts this season. I keep hearing about a system that all the players know and can slot into when they get their chance, regardless of the system, like WGS said a long time ago systems don’t win games players do.

That deal was a lot closer than many people realise, not sure why it didn’t materialise but a few people thought it was a done deal, some might have even had the surname Russell :-)

  27. Bad news that Munich thumped their opponents 5-0 yesterday under old (new) manager Juypp. Heynckes made his name as a player and manager at Borrusia Monchengladbach, I had no idea he was back at Bayern!! Gotta read CQN more. He got results at Real Madrid and won the German triple crown before Guardiola took over at FC Hollywood. German football royalty.

  28. Reading the reports, it seems that Bayern responded to the new/old boss pretty well.

Not such good news for us: I am sure the travelling Bhoys ( my own lhad included) will have a blast. However I fear for team as I believe Bayern will have a point to prove and want to slap us about and put us in our place.

They are a very good side, ask any Arsenal fan.

  29. JMcC

Bayern have been a top 4 European side for a few years – IMO if we get only a narrow defeat we will be doing well

  30. Commentator on Southampton v Newcastle says both teams have good reason to be frightened to open up.

    This early in the season?

Sums up everything that the tv money monster has created.

Not losing a priority as the riches of EPL is the goal not entertaining or playing to win.

The once beautiful game comes second to cash.

I thought we played well yesterday and Dundee were a more than reasonable opponent.I fail to understand why so many complain . I never saw 59 undefeated games in my first ten years watching Celtic.
