I don’t think anyone was complaining.

It’s a blog where differing opinions are acceptable.

  2. Nothing sinister about us playing Hibs on Sat.

Hibs play Hearts live on BT on Tues 24/10.

Therefore whoever drew Hibs in the semi final was always going to be playing on the Saturday.

Was pleasantly surprised by Dundee yesterday, apart from a few agricultural tackles on Paddy, for the most part they tried to play football, pressed our mids and defenders high up and bar a few quality saves from Doris could have came away with at least a point. All in all it was an entertaining game, well for a Scottish league game anyway, I could see them being top six.

*pity they didnae show this type of form 5 weeks ago at hades when they had the same accommodating ref.

    @@@@@@@@@@

100% agree Tontine, kind of backs up the point I was making about being allowed to play that way, although it seems to be missing from the link above.

I dont think they will get the time to play like that most weeks and of course most other refs wouldn’t be so lenient with them .

I doubt many of us were round to see our longer unbeaten run!

Largely agree with what you say re the game which I quite enjoyed. I saw our 9-I-A-R team grind out plenty of wins like yesterday when under strength and preparing for bigger games to come.

It does not bother me that the crowd groans at a misplaced pass or missed chance – a totally natural reaction and no different from the ‘ooh’ that accompanies a near miss. I did not hear much in the way of abuse of players – which I dislike- and , that stupid song about a bitter wee man aside sung by a few near to the GB, the downside for me was the way the ground largely emptied even before injury time began.I retain a childlike desire to applaud the team at the end which I can understand relatively few share but it surprised me that 3/4:of our support left before even the injury time period began. Did they all want to watch Watford/ Strictly?

I must admit to some concern re Olivier Ntcham. He looked good versus Astana and had a decent game at Dens Park but since then he has not played well until something clearly clicks and as it took him 61 minutes to do that good thing which turned his game around. I know he is young but he had a reasonable number of games before he joined us and I can remember another young midfielder we had – Paul McStay- who was controlling games week after week when still in his teens. And I wasn’t even that big a fan of the Maestro*. I know it takes time to settle and the lack of continuity of team selection so far probably does not help but I must admit that I thought he was better than he has so far proved to be.

Ah well this time tomorrow I shall be in Bar 67 waiting for my bus to Munchen

*I was a huge fan of Paul but merely said this to gently windup some here.

  5. Dundee understood the tolerances refs give Celtics opponents.

O’Dea had three challenges worthy of yellow.

On one of them the ref followed the rulebook.

  6. My pal Tam who has a bus company here ,and always takes a bus to Dungloe in the middle week of the tattie holidays as it used to be called. His cousin has a hotel there and it is usually international break, one of my elder brothers and a good few season ticket holders are with him. They are due to travel home tomorrow night from Larne, just saw on the news the weather for Ireland tomorrow hope all goes ok for everybody there. He is booked for Munich Tuesday morning flight so fingers crossed he makes it ok.HH

  7. Dundee should have had players booked a lot earlier than a couple were. The MIB let them pull and kick (especially Kieran Tierney and Patrick Roberts) from the start.

teams know they can do to us what they can’t do to anyone else, particularly the deid team. Mind you, no too many teams want to do that to anybody else but us.

Enough of that common sense stuff, but you are spot on, wee Skippy on radio Scotland earlier mentioned (I think it was him) Scotland & England do not look after their Euro competitors (tv decides even for the EPL billionaires)

  9. something a poster said on here yesterday been thinking about something a long the lines. just watched sevco and they are not as bad as we think they will probably be up there challenging us. and i thought hold on a minute isnt this the team that defrauded the taxman and are supposed to be skint my stomach turned and i suddenly realised this is the establishment team the protestant supremacy out in force. do any of us in our heart of hearts think they wont keep their tarnished titles will nicola or alex mr hearts aye ready salmond let them die dont think so a while back we were all optimistic about their demise and the downfall of reagan and duncaster. iam so sad fellas that the country i was born in doesnt recognize me because of my religion. where do i go apply for irish citizenship no offence to corkcelt or anybody on here but im a scottish catholic not wanted in my own country so sad.god bless all tims everywhere

” I must admit to some concern re Olivier Ntcham”

For what it’s worth the Manager of Genoa ( Juric ) shared your concern .

Genoa could have bought Ntcham for 3 million euros ( in accordance with the terms of the loan agreement / contract with Manchester City ). Juric opted not to — Genoa are not a rich club and he thought Ntcham was ” too consistently inconsistent ” to justify spending what for them is a lot of money

  11. Papajoe55 Flying back from Dublin tomorrow aftenoon. Hurricane level has been reduced to a tropical storm or as we call it good drying weather. Hh

The Sevs beat St Johnstone on Friday but trust me they won’t even challenge Aberdeen for second over a full season, they might have a chance against the Well next Sunday but they are bang average…. worry about Bayern Munich it’s a nicer worry, in my opinion the Sevs are a busted flush who might get the odd winning hand …. best of the rest ? No chance, it will be a long long season for the top 6 wannabees, by the way 0-3 in Perth is a decent result …. Pedro must stay :-)

If you don’t mind me asking what do you think of the Atlanta player Cristante (?) watched the Sampdoria v Atlanta game today and thought he was excellent in first half, think I heard the commentator mentioned he got capped for Italy this week… hope Inter win the Derby tonight, always enjoy your quotes from your Inter fan :-)

Hope you had a good wee break good luck with your flight with the wind at your back you will be home in no time, I am not a good flyer but an even worse sailor. Great to be a Celt just now, with Kouassi Nchamp Ajer Millar and Ralston coming through we have a great future as well.HH

All good here, hope the same with you, apologies about knowing heehaw about Big Yogi the other night I was born 1970, again reading Tontine Tim, yourself and others I try not to comment as again I know nothing, really enjoy reading Celtic fans views of players I never saw

Cristante is a Benfica player on loan at Atalanta . He has played for Italia Under 21 and made his first appearance for the big team in last week’s disaster ( for them ) v Macedonia . I think he looks to be a good player but Italian football is full of good young midfielders who seem to be unable to make the step up to being great midfielders. We ‘ll see .

Will be seeing the mad mental ole Inter codger next Friday . Going to the Napoli v Inter game with him on the Saturday . Agreed to go with him(he has bad knees ) before knowing about Bayern v Celtic this Wednesday .Will fly to Napoli from Munich on Friday. Typical – don’t go to a game for yonks and then end up going to 3 in 7 days.. Will be staying with his sister — I will be force fed .

  18. Gerryfaethebrig 6.11.

    Magic.

I’m just away to tell my wife and phone the weans to tell them someone said I was showing common sense.

    They won’t believe it.

What about Peru shouting down their top league for a month to help national team in their play off against New Zealand.

    Hail Hail

  19. Just logged in and saw the headline/title of the next article “Dorus saves the day”. That wouldn’t look out of place in The Sun or the Record.

Why not “Gamboa makes some tackles” or “Ntcham scores a goal”.

It always seems that if a keeper makes a couple of good saves, then he’s the hero, and he “saves the day” like he’s done something extraordinary.

He’s done his job. It’s what he’s there to do.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not aiming any criticism at de Vries, who played well yesterday, as did a number of others, but to imply that we only won the game because of some heroics by one of our players is a definite SMSM trait. We also passed up some very good chances, had some nice passages of play, and as I mentioned several players were excellent yesterday against a Dundee team who performed well, but will struggle to maintain that level of performance in most other games this season.

p.s. I also agree that wee Paddy should be given much more licence to roam. A talent like that shouldn’t be shackled.

Enjoy, hope you have a great week and positive results all round :-)

I met a bhoy fae Uddingston in 1989 still pals, his surname is a famous ice-cream over here these days, anyway every Sunday in a pub called Angels in Usdingston his father forced us to eat before we carried on drinking, “force fed” are the words, mountains of pasta and garlic meatballs every Sunday, around 1998 (stopping 10) we found out his father and my mother were at primary school together in the 1930s, they actually spoke on the phone and met through me & his son working together …. it’s a small world

When playing Astana in the play off for the CL their direct opponents (after 18 games when Astana were on top of the league) agreed to postpone the game before they played us

By the way tell that family you are one of the sensible ones on here :-) in fact don’t they might worry more for the rest of us :-)

  23. from that wonderful episode, and celtic trivia for today –

Watched bbc highlights earlier and noticed quite a lot of empty seats for a Sat 3pm ko. Are season ticket holders becoming bored with success or were opponents not considered glamourous enough?

  29. Papajoe55 I am indeed. Thanks for your kind words. Whilst the amazing Celtic travelling support heads to Bavaria this week 34,000 Bayern fans have applied for tickets for CP. Hh

  30. Olivier Ntcham is twenty years old , of course he is inconsistent, he would be somewhere else if he wasn’t. Let’s just enjoy seeing him develop and hopefully become a top player.

  31. For guys flying from Dublin & sailing from Larne, I have heard nothing about the Hurricane being downgraded.

A mate due to fly from Cork in the morning has been contacted & told to ring Airport at 6am and that flight cancellations are likely.

Bins are in the shed, Garden Furniture stored, hatches are battened down, there will be no Golf tomorrow,
