Celtic have played very well. On another day we could be 3 up and this place would be purring. Surely we can’t dominate like that for another 45 minutes and not score. All we need is one and collect the 3 points and move on.

Guidetti is slower than John Hartson and not half as good a player, we require more movement from midfield into their box SA for JF .

Hamilton had 9 attempts on goal against the sheep, pity they didn’t try this kind of uber negativity against them.

In the earlier CP game, Hamilton were very energetic in defending AND attacking in numbers.
They are only doing one of those things today.

One-way traffic all game so far. Lot’s of decent build up play from the Bhoys but lacking a wee bit of creativity in and around the box. Hamilton don’t seem to be interested in scoring, we’ll see if that changes after we score. I can’t see us going through this game without getting a couple of goals. With the strength we have on the bench, Ronny has plenty of options to change things up if it goes too much longer at 0-0.
Broony once again having a great game. Effy and Izzy doing very well out wide. Effy in particular has been very solid. Jamesie is looking much slimmer and has showed glimpses of good play but would like to see him being a bit more direct. Guidetti has shown good link up play but he needs to be sharper in the box. Virgil and Jason strolling the game. Need more from Kris. Biton and Joe quieter today but effective.
Think we might get 2 or 3 second half.

Great flowing football ley down by poor finishing and decisions in the final third. Brown has been immense apart from 2 mishit passes. Bitton as well. Both are keeping the ball circulating continuously meaning Hamilton are always on the back foot. Johansen needs to improve his decision making (effort cannot be questioned). Commons is beginning to get into interesting positions. Lovely footwork to set up Guidetti. Guidetti seems a bit heavy legged. Forrest not quite up to pace. Ambrose having his best game in a long time. Very good distribution and 3 great crosses.
Looking forward to the second half!

The whole team is, somewhat understandably, lacking the urgency of Thursday night. And that extra 5% can, and often is, the difference between 0-0 and 3-0.
To be fair to JF, he hasn’t played much, and the pace of today’s game wouldn’t suit him. We were much quicker on Thursday, which suits JF, whose main asset is his pace. However, if the team isn’t playing to his style, he has to adapt his game to allow him to contribute.
At a minimum, he simply needs to show more effort (if for no reason than to keep the fans off his back…. they are pretty forgiving, of an off day, if they see a player busting a gut for the team)…
I think he is a real talent … one of the best of his generation to come through Celtic … and would probably star at an Everton level team … where they can pass and move, and he can use his pace.
for some reason, he has gone off the boil, and he is struggling to get back to his best… and, to be fair to him, Celtic are struggling (and it is their job) to get the best out of him.

We could easily be three up at half-time. All the same, I don’t think the energy levels are good enough. That’s maybe understandable – considering the almighty effort during the week, the quieter atmosphere and the team changes – but I’d still like to see a bit more.
