No it’s Christopher McLaughlin, Andrew’s understudy at left back. Got me excited there. :))
people who know me, friend and foe alike, know me as Saint Stivs, Celtic Supporter (or FB). depending on their point of view.
as a bhoy and mhan pre seville, i went home and away on the mainland. and to nottingham, but couldnt ever afford a trip abroad, but i finally did that night in spain. beyond winning things, the greatest supporter thing for me was the celtcs for change movement, during 92-95 i didnt miss a game, apart from that kilmarnock one, that was it, but we got our club to be something it needed to be , for then.
since then, my home life changed a lot, a kid comes along, and spare money there is none.
so the season book goes.
but everytime i could, every chance i got , every way i could manage, i would get to more matches than i didnt.
so the support kept up.
slowly though, my view on supporting all things done in the Celtic PLC world is changing. i find it harder and harder to square things up in my simple little mind.
i once felt of myself as being persecuted, i was paranoid, i hated all the injustices that came along with being a fan, but i knew who would be against me, i knew who i was standing up against.
now, i feel sick of things, scunnered, worried, and marginalised.
my nephew is scared there could be police raid on the door at 6 in the morning, because of where he supporters the team from in celtic park.
our friend on here has gave his ticket back because he sits in the same section.
celtic supporters are kettled by the police while gathering from a protest.
politics are to stay at home, while we accept the poppy fascists comments on our club.
an irish supporter was told to go home last week.
a bhoy was beaten up for unwrapping a GB Supporting banner, and his assailant then boasted about it on Facebook.
then there is the meek accpetance of what happens in the coproate goverance of the game in scotland. a 5 way agreement, a secret, an unpublished hidden working , to the detriment of the paying fan of all clubs.
we wont pay a living wage, but PL will accept a million in renumeration, somehow under the guise “its the going rate ” for a ceo. no it isnt.
our fans, wonderful, and practical, growing in their deeds to be “like the original club” founded on charitable deeds. that part i love more and more.
i was offered two free tickets yesterday, a sb holder, who told me, he doesnt want to go, not because of football performance, we have watched hundreds of crap over the years, but because he was told to sit down last week for shouting …….. in a section where he , his bhoys and his dad were the only supporters.
i said no.
when i cant bring myself to go see the team, because of a combination of factors that are attacking any section of supporters, green, young, mental, politicos, or indeed old fellas , then the plc has a problem.
a group of fans were collecting for food banks today.
its 2013.
celtic are 126 years old.
poverty in the east end still exists.
that group of fans have been wronged.
they dont do everything just right, but they dont do much wrong in my eyes either.
i dont see any apoligies in the press, i heard a grudging tom english saying “they aint all bad” , whatever the feck that means on the radio today.
when your losing me, my nephew (who so reminds me of me, in that slavish devotion to be there), our blackpool clubs, the irish, and a sb holder with his 75 year old dad and two sons, then your not doing much right/
Celtic PLC. Its just a club.

I saw one of the letters sent to the suspended fans to tell them they were being allowed back in- and it echoed the Polis threat that we are coming to get you over Xmas. It told the fans that while the ban was being lifted, investigations were still ongoing and that they would be dealt with if found to have been involved in vandalism or pyro. While this is fair enough they go on to say that if you sat in a seat other than that your ticket was for at Fir park then you will be dealt with. I understand that the stewards at Fir Park (if any could be found) were telling fans to sit anywhere. I hope the effectiveness of the stewards is part of the investigation.
As for todays game I thought Izzy was excellent in the first half- back to his near best- though overall we are badly lacking a centre forward- or striker of any description
