Badly advised? Like Henrik was when he left? He didn’t do to bad, players come and go, his agent has Sussed out a better deal and Celtic won’t match it, so he moves on, business is business, not everyone is a Paul McStay you know.
It is if you get one, and tough if you don’t, as I said its business, but then again heel the blame on PL by all means, it’s what they do best in here.

I doubt Celtic aren’t attempting to sign James Forrest by breaking any contract framework.
The contract he signed four years ago was his first ‘big Celtic contract’ after a development salary, and the one he probably seeks now is probably more what he’s due, in line with players we sign like Stuart Armstrong and GMS.
We don’t know the facts in contract matters, and if Celtic adhere to the framework in line with what James Forrest has contributed and his value future and present, then all Celtic can do is have him sign, or not.
If he leaves out of contract he won’t be the first or the last, and won’t stop fans like you trying to apportion blame on the board.

in the opinion of any sane Celtic supporter –
Celtic have got a great return on Henke and McStay – in fact they should have written both a cheque by way of thank you when they left… the same can not under any rational circumstances be said of James Forrest. The club have been incredibly generous to JF – financially and I’d argue in terms of pastoral care over a long period and are getting a kick in the teeth in return.
We all know we , are screaming out for a defensive midfielder, well I think I have the answer. Make Broony into that position, he’d be brilliant I think. We certainly have a plethora of talent in the midfield Just love the way it’s looking, but we must start the next game with the eleven who finished on Saturday.

Gary Harkins has shown admirable courage to make his statement regarding Mary Shelley’s “Rangers”. I hope he receives the full backing of his manager and the Dundee Board, when the inevitable Press onslaught begins. I also hope this unexpected statement regarding the elephant in the room in Scottish football, precipitates a few more to follow his lead, maybe even from within our own club. I also hope Mr Harkins does not come to any harm.
The more the simple factual statement that Sevco is not Rangers is repeated, the more the stance of the football authorities and Sevco will be shown up for the ridiculous lie that it is.

I know that, you know that, everybody knows that.
The player/ his agent, hold all the cards.
As far as I’m aware, JF is not out of contract this summer, so, there is time for an offer to come in from another club(s), who will now be aware of his availability.
Too many folks use every perceived “snub” as a weapon to attack the club and how it runs it business.

Another poor decision from James Forrest. We’ve dodged a bullet here and should thank our lucky stars he’s turned it down. Why we even offered him a new contract in the first place is a mystery, he’s hopeless. Just look at his contribution to this season so far…and I don’t think he done too much last season either.
Why would you not blame the board for allowing James to leave on a Bosman, when you blame them for everything else?
JF is the same as anyone else – he gets an offer, or not.
He rejected it – and is looking elsewhere.
The offer was commensurate with what Celtic think of him.
Personally without knowing the terms like many other Celtic fans, I think he was lucky to get one, and who knows he might be scrambling for a Celtic pen yet, and you’ll have one less reason for daily board bashing.

An eye-opener. As most boots in the baws tend to be.
James Forrest – played well at the start of the season, plenty of dig and effort in the CL qualifiers.
His problem – he’s fast, and he’s Scottish = ‘a winger’.
I always thought he was best deployed right down the middle – that occasionally devastating pace can get you right between the lines very quickly; ideal for European football. He won us the tie against Karagandy when Lenny had to play him there by default through other injuries.
I hoped there might be a conversion to that position for him a la Thierry Henry at Arsenal (full back to striker) with Jf turning winger to attacking centre midfield – absolutely ideal too for backing up Ronny Deila’s one-striker policy.
But alas he now languishes, second/third choice to underwhelming GMS. And we don’t really play ‘wingers’ as such anyway – preferred tactical option is to cut in around 18 yards out rather than hit the byeline.
His legacy will be of unfulfilled promise. Something that will please only his close family – his old man a dyed-in-the-wool Hun anyway.
A shame. But best of luck to him.
