    How intelligent is wee Kyogo the runs he makes are frightening when the bhoys get to know him and his runs better in training we will see play like Henrik or Cadete.

    That’s entertainment.

     

     

    I think it was Stephboy who said we will concede by trying to play out from the back. That is correct. Every team does.

     

     

    But it’s worth the risk to draw teams out and create space. I’ll happily lose one, two or three goals over the season playing that way. I don’t expect they will be significant to the outcome of the game.

    agree with all comments – wonderful performance but you can see signs where we lacked a bit of physicality when needed. Despite not having areal dominance, the defense attacked every ball and tacked and harried – big difference from last season!

     

     

    Will improve one we sign THAT center half and another full back

     

     

    Agree on Montgomery observation – you can see he has an eye for space and has the pace to drive. Naturally, he was a fraction tentative at times – BUT the confidence and belief he will gain from that final passage, where to beat 2 players tierney style and played a nice pass in – that will do him the world of good!

     

     

    Love Ange – his attitude his demeanor – he has a bit of Stein about him!

    Never thought I’d see Rogic play like that again!!…class ……still heart in mouth stuff a few times …..and I felt my tension rising …. ..special mention for the much maligned Greg Taylor….played very well

    Dreambowie – I’ve been critical of Taylor (never for effort/attitude tho) and tonight he deserves a lot of praise. He dealt with a couple of pacy players , passed well in tough positions and managed to get up the pitch to support attack. Tough shift and he was fantastic tonight!

    Every player played their part.

     

    Running, one and two touch football, making themselves available, running in to space…

     

    If only we had Ange last season.

     

    Nonetheless, we are looking forward.

     

    Win the league and straight into the European group stages.

     

    Or/and, have a bite at the Europa Cup.

    Kyogo is our new Bobby Lennox . He will lose out on a lot of marginal offside calls like he did tonight because of his pace . We need to make sure we get these through balls to him quicker to counteract that . Might not work with Scottish officials , of course .

    Back to enjoying Celtic games so we’re moving in the right direction. Tonight went pretty much as expected. We still need to get fullback reinforcements so hopefully we get those one or two players in this week. Kyogo is a joy. Just pure joy. Roll on Sunday.

    100% Drambowie, Thought both Taylor & Ralston played extremely well.

     

    They take a lot of stick here but seem transformed under Ange.

     

    Are they good enough to be our two main full backs ?

     

    Personally, I think not, I feel we need to recruit in this area but they are both good reliable back ups, and I’d have no fear if either had to step in.

    Well Greg Taylor also benefitting from better coaching, and if we do bring in a better full back he’ll be the back up there. How about him going out on loan and getting some serious game time?

    I realise that the manager wants the players to play the ball out of defence at all times but there were a few occasions tonight where such passing was almost suicidal and left Joe Hart in a right pickle. By all means play out from defence when the situation allows but when hard pressed the alternative may be necessary ie a long ball up the park.

    Oh and another thing, Ange also seems to have developed a positive relationship with his coaches, something Neil did not do second time around. He’ll improve them too!

    Exactly. I don’t believe Ange had these coaches “dumped on him” against his wishes. He’s too strong a personality for that.

     

     

    If he thinks he can utilize them to get his methods across then that’s why they’ll be kept on.

    Celtic Mac, You need 2 top players for every position.

     

    Can’t loan out your second best right or left back.

     

    There will be injuries suspensions, resting players in League Cup etc.

     

    If 2 new fulls recruited, Tony & Greg should still get game time.

    Drambowie, 3rd in Dutch League last year, Ajax won it handily but just a point between PSV & AZ for 3rd place.

     

    They will be a big step up.

    Was thinking that young Monty might benefit from being loaned out, if we bring another left back, not Greg. Both Taylor and Ralston are more than good enough for the SPL, and Greg is also in the Scotland picture. Could they do better, well they are doing better, could we do better, yes we possibly could, but did not do so last season. We could do with a bit more height mind you.

    You’re right regarding AZ but by all accounts, there has been a big sale there too – £40m worth of players leaving.

     

     

    It’ll be tough but I’m more optimistic than I was when the draw was first made.

    As Geebee said they’ve sold two of their best players, a striker and a winger and there’s talk of them selling at least one more, Koopmeiners their captain and midfield general, who looks like he’s on his way to Atalanta or the EPL. Its probably a bit late for him to go before our game but his head might have been turned
