  1. Tamrabam,

my point was pretty self-contained, but, if you’re asking if I was critisizing MON, then no. Simply pointing out the obvious, he inherited a very good squad.

Of the 5 I mentioned, I’d say the only one who improved, or established their reputation under O’Neil was Petrov. Lambert had a EC medal, Boyd had been club captain for a bit, Jackie had one a POTY award, and Larsson had become the King by then.

I didn’t even mention Lubo or Johann. There’s not much doubt O’Neil’s job was easier than any other since.

I imagine he’d make us more solid at this moment, but I doubt he’d have the appetite for the kind of strategic management necessary in our current situation.

4th now with a game in hand and 3 points from the top playing a team directly above us next week.

    Still not satisfied.

    2 Both strikers score

Signs of improvement based on this display no, up to the sending off we didn’t look good, improved somewhat with the man advantage but all in all I’d rate this performance as poor to average but I guess its all about opinions

    ………..

You have a view that should be respected, keep on going mate there are some who get it.

Ps I’m sticking it out with the manager but very unhappy with the direction our beancounters are taking us.

  7. Quick shower, breakfast then noon mass.

  8. Another win.

    Most wanted 442.

I still expect the entrenched Ronnie bashers to make themselves heard

    “SFTB I was thinking 2003

Porto beat us and then went on to win the CL, they moved on and upwards, we just lost it year on year IMO”

I can agree that Porto, for a period, were European heavyweights. They acheived that status by winning the CL, not by beating us.

Seville was a great emotional experience but, in terms of football achievement, we have surpassed it on 3 occasions since 2003, twice under WGS and once under Neil Lennon. After Seville, all the posts on here were about kicking on from a losing finalist status to get out of CL group stages. We saw it then as a higher achievement. We started to downgrade it because the deid huns did it first. Most of the rest of European football did not and do not rate the Uefa/Europa competition final as being anywhere near the level of a successful CL group team. Our status, as losing finalist, has been equalled by such mighty giants as Alaves Middlesborough, Braga, Fulham and the deid huns.

  10. I nearly lost my Mueslix when I read this on BBC site.

    Wishful thinking in the extreme.

“Fourth-placed Kilmarnock can go top of the Scottish Premiership today…with a seven-goal winning margin at Celtic Park.

“A 2-0 win would lift them above third-placed Dundee United and on to the same points tally as leaders Hamilton and Inverness CT. They’d split those two teams on goal difference.”

  11. Thank Ghod we won. Some people will only be satisfied when their grimmest predictions are proved correct.

Haven’t seen the game. Seems we were poor (judging by comments on here) but we have won again and are within sight of the top of league, headed by a team who were lucky to beat us, no matter how poor we are.

Hope people can get a wee bit of joy at our winning.

  12. Tricoloured Ribbon on

It’s three points and we go on to the League Cup midweek.

    Guernica,with respect,

Fellas are quite entitled to make their opinions known just like yourself.

  13. Due to

    1. Changing the clock

    2. Thinking it was a 3pm KO so 4PM in Spain

I logged on to CTV in time to see RD clapping his hands to the support and seeing we had won two nil.

Then I log on here and the joy of winning evaporates.

I wish they changed the clock and KO times every week.

  14. Cheers for the updates, Bhoys.

Results improving, and hopefully performances to follow.

    Hail Hail.

  15. Ah its not entrenched Ronny bashers, guernica, that was not great. It was just about adequate against a 10 man Killie team in Celtic Park. Look I’m delighted with the 3 points and looking forward to mid-week game, but anyone not addicted to Celtic would simply die of boredom.

  16. Pleased with the 3 points and a competent but unspectacular display. We are not as good as some felt we were after Ross County and we are not as bad as painted after Astra win.

A team has been broken up and the re-building job does not look pretty or impressive yet. The difficulty in judging is being able to predict the future. Will the building be a carbuncle when it is completed or are we re-creating Cumbernauld Town Centre.

All views on the outcome are legitimate just now but I do not know where people get their certainty from.
