  1. I cringed when John Kennedy’s birthday was mentioned, celtic family my archie, a clique more like,

what he get a new set of cones ?

  2. We, obviously, completely outclassed the opposition but Andy Campbell on the BBC site still felt the need to say:

`One note of concern for Lennon will be the ease with which Kjartan Finnbogason latched on to a long ball to force a save from Vasilis Barkas in the first half.`

He also felt the need to warn us, minutes after a resounding victory, remember, that :

`Swedes Djurgardens visit the Hungarian champions in Wednesday’s one-legged tie and either side will offer Celtic a much stiffer test.`

It cannot be good for one`s mental health to feel so bitter.

  3. Ok lets see how long TET lasts afore it logs me out, I am hoping for more than 10 mins, but we will see.

Delighted tonight BTW, what a difference an honest referee without an agenda makes, not a single post about him, so it shows that they can do their job without the bias, Oh for this every week, I dream of this, I may well dream of this tonight…..

  4. Jobo will have to change the rules. My top three were:

Elhamed,Bitton,Taylor,McGregor,Brown ( first half),Ntcham (second half) and Elyounoussi.

  5. THE EXILED TIM

Almost as good as the Luxembourg ref and his assistants during our (?) shite officials strike

  6. VP

Yip, I remember that, even the goal that was chopped off was a proper “honest mistake” Daryl Murphy if I recall, and we never moaned about it

    As I said I can but dream….

    TET

Ref did well , although it must have been a fairly easy game to referee . My only gripe would be him pulling back play for fouls instead of playing advantage when we had good possession.

  8. A nice birthday present for Lennybhoy ( and his good lady).

    `night all.

PS This VST has some advantages over travelling mid-week on the Emerald Express and not arriving back in Arbroath until 1 am !

    HOT SMOKED @10.06

On Sunday following the livvy game Campbell wrote about ‘huns’ frustration when Kent’s shot appeared to hit Guthrie’s arm. There was more stuff but……….you know, couldn’t be arsed printing it.

  10. GDT

Aye true, but I have the feeling that he was trying hard to impress the man with the pen in the stand, but you are right, a couple of times he did make that mistake, but he will learn, the thing that got me was that he never let a tackle that was in way close to being aggressive go, the players knew this and acted accordingly.

  11. good professional performance tonight – the opposition wasn’t up to much but we worked hard and moved the ball quickly. My takeaways ;-

Chrsitie looked lively but just fractions off with his passing – vision is there , execution a tad off

Moi looked hungry and getting sharper – he was my MOTM

Ntcham looked tidy and dictated play with some clever forward passing – something he has that brown doesn’t (although I’d have brown for his defensive qualities)

Defense looked ok with Bitton – they scored a header (offside) that should have been dealt with and we are still vulnerable – Need strength in there ASAP.

I don’t like when he threw on Klimala with Ajeti – the team was fragmented and disrupted at that point in the game. He should have put Klimala on with Eduard at 60mins , then Ajeti with 10 to go.

Great to see the team out again – the Adidas strip looks amazing but the logo in the stand looks cheap and hopefully temporary

  12. Hot Smoked at 10.22, agreed, usually back in Dundee well after midnight. But that said, the closing shot from Celtic Park tonight looked right at my seat and as if I needed reminding, I’m missing being there…

  13. Having a ref blowing for a paltry foul against a Celtic player takes some getting used to… much more familiar with career-threateners being waved as ‘play on’!

  14. glendalystonsils on

    TET

Agreed . The one thing I was worried about (once the result was in the bag) was one of our key players getting crocked by a frustrated opponent . The ref kept a lid on that side of it.

  15. TET – So Right. With refs like that we could play wee Dembele without the risk of serious injury à la KT, RC, MJ ……

Also hope that Big Kris Ajer is back for Saturday, although pretty sure the guys with crayons will be scribbling that he’s offski to—— Insert made up pash here. We need the big fellah for the 10.

  16. Thanks for the welcome back, I need to work out why I keep getting logged out every few mins, it’s frustrating so, I have sussed out the no more adds so that shouldn’t be too much of a bother…. famous last words, we will see.

Delighted tonight for every Tim in the world, nothing like a good win to get the juices flowing !!!!

Take care and sleep well Timland

  17. Jullien misjudges header, Bitton clears , not the last time this season you will be saying that.

they were a poor team , but it gives us a good run out.

thought we looked ok at the back until late on when we went to a back 3 , once again julien just as dangerous in our box as he was in theirs.

Elhamed and ON deserve a first pick , Ajeti looks like a player who hasn’t kicked a ball in earnest for nearly a year.

  18. Great game the day :))

Me and da watching the BBC

6 goals – showed the own goal

    That was dead funny :D

    God Bless

    WEE BGFC

  19. BBC Scotland News, reporting on the game.6 Goals, including Eddys stunner. What goal do they show, yep, the OG.

  20. Quiet tonight? – wee part time Icelandic sides get a frosty reception on

    CQN.

Several levels below Kilmarnock, we oozed class on grass, with a slippers and pipe defence that allowed Nir Bitton a rare start, Julienne a goal, and El Hamed the best right back we’ve hardly seen, on a lovely virtually still,

    late summer Celtic Park night.

Ajer and Frimpong rested, Tannadice will present an infinitely stiffer challenge than Celtic’s first CL qualifier, which should be used as prep and an invite to play Olivier Ntcham much more frequently.

    M.O.M El Hamed

  21. Totally cheered up by tonights performance after a shitty day at work.

Lots to admire everywhere. Keeper even had a good save!

    Going away to bed happy.

  22. glendalystonsils on

20 or so top class minutes from Sam the Ntcham is enough to get him into my CQN top 3 just behind MOTMMoi and the superb (when fit) Elhamed.

  23. Called for 5-0 so I won the 90 min score!

    Seriously, nice one Big Jimmy!

A wee flutter is for mugs? Not at all. Liked our keep tonight, fast moving. Elhamed a great showing as well.

    HH!

  24. well I thoroughly enjoyed that as due to work this is my first time of seeing Celtic.

    enjoyed that.

good to get the run out

We worked well for each other.

    mo man of match agreed.

el hamed offers power and pace on right

    glad keeper kept clean sheet.

    just great seeing Celtic hh

must say the onloan signings of St.Stivs and Oldtim to the updates is a cheery addition.

    Bada Bing well done.
