Ntcham looks a step up on midfield choices for the Champions League. Rogic will be the subject of a large bid from the likes of Arsenal or Liverpool the guy is World Class. His playing through the summer looks like a bonus for us. Celtic need to start thinking about how they will use a big transfer fee to up the wages of the rest of the squad. The hawks will be swirling.
Champions League qualification looks even more important to us in terms of the fees we can command for players, keeping our own squad as much as possible and using one or two sales to boost the wages.
Benyu adds some much needed strength and pace to the front areas. Like the look of him. Be interesting if we can get Dembele to work with the early cross from Hayes.
We lose the ball mainly when we are attacking, when this happens ML is usually up the park, the ball is often played to an attacker from the oppo who would have a 20-30 yard start on ML, there should be defenders there to compensate.
With your coaching knowledge can you enlighten me and the blog as to how you work out that his positioning when we lose the ball is criminal, given he will be where the manager expects him to be ?

Maybe my expectations for Celtic are just too high for some, no offence meant, but Forrest and Lustig both need to go as first team players.
You werent to know, obviously, but I do have a UEFA B licence in football coaching.

Lustig and Forrest I like but if you want Celtic to progress you need Forrest to be better or replace him and you need Lustig to be more mobile and aware. A right full back to balance Tierney would be ideal. The right side are very right foot dominant and this isn’t good enough in the Champions League. Forrest struggles to join in with the quick interplay around the box due to his poor passing, awareness and lack of willing to create space when he doesn’t have the ball. If you want a greater team you need Rogic and Sinclair type ability on that right side.
Maybes my question was a bit too technical for our resident uefa B licence holder

Early start tomorrow but one last point.
Having watched the goals (thanks to Invincible ‘GG), what a pass from ML to SS in the build up to the first goal. Mikael has his limitations but that was brilliant, irrespective of the opposition.
I sometimes question Lustig’s decision-making but never his skill or commitment to the Hoops.
Keep him to cultivate the next right back.
Off to my kip.

All eyes were on Ntcham tonight and i thought he did well. He had so much of the ball, kept things ticking over and generally was neat and tidy. You can see already he likes to pick the ball up, carry it and and make intricate one two’s in dangerous areas. Had a couple of wild shots, probably snatching at them a little. Much tougher opposition to come but he will get fitter and stronger. Big Moussa needs games. I thought Rogic was very good second half after an indifferent first half. Sinclair man of the match quite comfortably, they couldn’t get near him. Very unlucky not to get his hat-trick. Overall it could and should have been more. Disappointing to hear Rosenborg edged through. I think it will be difficult over the two legs, we should have enough but it will be anything but easy.

Thought we were fine in a competent professional manner disposing of a qualifier against a club that will be content with the 6-0 aggregate after trying to spoil both legs, with a fitting zero tolerance of football to fit their culture.
It was a night for three at the back alright because Linfield only have one player of any quality in Roy Carroll but an overcrowded midfield meant anonymity for a few Celts and some pre season bluntness in front of goal.
James Forrest did his shift and tied up the double markers leaving space for others both in Belfast and Parkhead, Ntcham had an impressive full competitive debut bossing midfield and even suppressing Scott Brown.
Rosenborg have sunk since the heady days of Harald but are an experienced club and have qualified more times than Celtic. I expect the play off should be reachable by which time it’ll no longer have tonight’s summer cup pre season feel.
