  1. Morning All, Chilly but sunny spring morning in the Chilterns…

    DELANEYS DUNKY @ 11:50 PM,

Yes, one game at time is all well and good but it shouldnt prevent us building. The longer we are drifting along the more the impetus and excellenc that was established in the last three years will recede.

The Executive need to start making decisions and implementing them pronto, the interim set up we have at the moment, while aimed at getting us over the line, is not viable to consolidate and build on our recent success.

I read a piece on Boyata going to Hertha, it was discussing who Dedryk would be replacing and their summer rebuild and that a budget has been made available to their Hungarian manager.

In one swoop we know more about what’s going on in Berlin than we do at Parkhead. We badly need football leadership at our Club.

    GFTB @ 12:46 AM,

Hope all’s good in the Brig…

    “And another thing

The recently appointed Leicester manager wasn’t needed to the summer by his employers…

This is not the case, in fact with all due respect this is a nonsense, that came out with all the other briefings aimed to further damage BR’s character after the announcement of his departure.

Now, the official statement from Celtic on BR’s departure, which I admit is a sham, (it is more akin to a love-fest rather than the acrimonious split we know it to be.) States quite clearly that Leicester wanted to make the appointment immediately.

Once Celtic started briefing to the contrary BR stated quite clearly at an initial press conference that Leicester were not prepared to wait and if folk doubted that they could check that fact with Peter Lawwell.

Celtic’s run in was more relevant to the timing than Leicester’s, I understand that when Leicester made it clear that they wanted to speak to BR and were prepared to pay the compensation, Celtic’s run in was looked at. It was agreed Celtic had it much easier than Sevco Rangers and with eight points ahead and the better team, Celtic were a shoo-in for the League.

    Hail Hail

  2. My friends in Celtic,

Couldn’t make the game yesterday due to pesky work. Watched some of it on a stream. Hard going, but nothing compared to the thousands at the game who were ( to use a word previously used ) bored.

This is not NFL’ s team. His remit is to get us over the lines without too much disruption.

What I worry about is apthay by large sections of the Celtic support. Neil is a clever individual, he will know that we cannot have the top tier’s closed again. The standards have been set; if we have to close sections of our ground it is failure.

Going forward, entertaining winning football is paramount. Enhancement of the match day experience must be our number 1 goal.

HH to all, the journey continues.

  3. morning bhoys from a dreich Cheshire. at least we didn’t get beat, come on the mothers.hh.

  4. TIGER ROLL for Celtic ?

Would Tiger get on well with The Lions ?

If Tiger Roll signed a 5 Year Contract…would we be SADDLED with him ?

If he displayed anger on the Pitch, would we have to REIN him in ?

Would Tiger just HOOF the Baw up the Park at every opportunity ?

Would Tiger NAG his Team Mates ?

After a poor result…Would Tiger have a LONG FACE ?

These are the questions that we should be asking.

Anyway, another very profitable Day for yours truly due to Tiger Rolls Victory, especially after I skelped The Bookies last week with My Fitba Correct Scores etc. I hope some of you also back “The Tiger” ?

I will now need to check what Price Tiger Roll is for next years Grand National and “Get On”…hope Im still around to collect if Tiger does The TREBLE ?

As for the semi v Sheep…..3-1 to the Hoops is my prediction, and the Dons may even score 1st , and Lennys Lions come Roaring back ?

    HH

  5. Ive just checked and Tiger Roll is only 5/1 for the 2020 Grand National, a wee £20 Bet on for now Online.

The Tiger Bhoy is some machine.

Sometimes methinks…… that Some Horses are more dependable than Some Players ?

  6. A bit of Celtic Sunday Fun…..

I Posted this many Moons ago on here, I wonder who has a good memory ?

Name the 1st Celtic Player to “Make a RECORD” ?

It was a 45 rpm Single, with TWO Celtic songs on it, The “A2 side and obviously the “B” Side.

For you young Bhoys out there, a Record/Single was a Circular Round piece of Vinyl, that could be heard on what was known as a Record Player.

I still have this Record in my Celtic collection, although it’s not in the best condition…Sadly.

  7. Bhoyjoebelfast on

Soon 2018/19 will come to a finish and players will be returning to their parent clubs, and others will be no longer required at Celtic Park.New recruits will come on aboard and hopefully a new era shall begin. We can all look back and take stock at some performances which was not pleasing on the eye.The season is almost finished and if,the treble is secured,it will be an enormous achievement to ALL at Celtic FC.A new chapter awaits us,and I can only look back as a youngster, pre 67, what we had at our disposal,an antiquated stadium,an equally appalling training ground at Barrowfield and a squad of players with the likes of Haffey,Mcvittie,Conway,Kurila etc that made way for stars, that are part of folklore.Roll on 2019/20 one never knows what awaits us.

  8. LAST MAN STANDING 12 ROUND 4 and 5

Early release of fixtures this weekend to give all extra time ( very ambitious, I know, since 7 days isn’t enough for some ? ) and after the carnage of round 3 where more than 50 teams were knocked out, Round 4 kicks off on Tuesday night, so, assuming you’ve made it through round 3 we need your picks in sooner rather than later.

Round 5 Takes place over the weekend, as is customary. We’re quite happy to accept picks for Round 4 and Round 5 at the same time, although you’ll need to specify which round you’re selecting your team for because some feature in Both rounds 4 and 5. If you want to make your picks separately, that’s ok too, but due to the volume of mails, it’s unlikely we’ll be able to issue reminders for these rounds.

If you have been knocked out in round 3, There’s still time to reward yourselves with zombie status by buying back into the competition….this only applies in rounds 1, 2 and 3 and can be done by making additional payment of £10. Payment details are in the mail sent out with Round 1 fixtures.

Pick the team you think will win ( or predict a drawn match ) and send it to us at cqnpredictor@gmail.com or via Whatsapp. As long as your pick reaches us before kick-off time in your selected fixture, carry on standing, otherwise, take a seat☹

  9. Hunderbirds are Gone on

Tiger Roll would be a great signing. He is a proven favourite, and I for one, would love to see him galloping up the wing. With him in harness we would win the ten at a canter.

GG seems to be in the know regarding signing him… he often proclaims FOAL CELTIC. ?

    ??????????

  10. Sorry,

NO…Not Frank Haffey, and certainly not Owen Paul.

    HUNDERBIRDS,

I enjoyed your Post about “The Tiger”.

IF The Tiger Played for The Hoops…would he be a HOOPED Tiger, rather than a STRIPED Tiger ?

IF Tiger scored a winning Goal v Sevco, the Celtic fans would surely show….” UNBRIDLED PASSION” ?

    I’ll get Ma Coat.

  11. in ither news………..

There is a Charlie Tully 45.

    …………………………

We have a Winner it is Charlie Tully ..but can anyone Name the Two songs on A & B Sides ?

Charlies Two Goals from corners is well documented, after the Hun Ref disallowed his 1st effort, but did you know that He also scored Direct from a corner v England in 1952, in a 2-2 draw ?

His direct opponent that Day was Alf Ramsey ( BOO ! ), and apparently Charlie asked him during the game…” Do You enjoy playing for your Country” ?

    Ramsey replied…” Yes, I do”

To which the Bold Tully relied…” Well, you better enjoy it Today, it will probably be your last” !

i really do hope thats true ?

  13. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

When Tiger retires he could become the glue that holds the team together.

  14. Chairbhoy 7.42am

All good in the brig, hope all is well in the Chilterns (?)

I don’t care a jot about anything coming from the board or even on here, I try and form my own opinion from the facts … the new Leicester manager made his own decision to leave and I think (Sipsini knows I do a lot of thinking :-) that the upcoming Leicester fixtures helped make our ex-manager do a runner … I honestly don’t care these days and Brendan’s 6 games at Leicester have made me money, I bet Watford as I was hurting and wanted them to get beat every game but after about 5 days when I realised that it wasn’t really that important I have had a few shillings on Leicester and they have won every game since …. Brendan has gone and Neil is in situ and whether it’s Neil or a n other for going for 9 (or as Beatbhoy says 21 :-) that’s where my focus will be …

Leicester ? I hope they make Europe and when we get 3rd in the CL group stages we might get them in the Europa league knockout stages

    A bhoy can dream :-)

  16. SFtB’s @ 9:30 PM,

“The Scottish Football Supporter’s Association produce a decent analysis of the newly launched Res. 12 website but they cop out in their conclusion that, we need to waive all right to consequences or punishment in order to learn more about what went on.

    Aye right!

We were more corrupt than Italian football Authorities but we don’t want the neighbours to know how corrupt we were.

    https://fanswithoutscarves.org/2019/04/03/res12-a-new-resource-and-accounting-matters/comment-page-1/?unapproved=116&moderation-hash=02add5483636a6f727b86bd953c15072#comment-116

Interesting article on the Res12 “site”.

Your reposte is excellent. If some sort of amnesty is announced how does that help?

Due to six years of mining and revelation we now know what was suspected is fact.

If there were to be a wider inquiry into the whole “Great football scandal”, then maybe some sort of immunity for those who came forward as witnesses in regard to their evidence.

However, the footballing authorities could not give them immunity from civil or criminal actions taken against these individuals.

Also the way they have conducted themselves means the evidence can’t be trusted.

Take CO for example was to take no part in proceedings as he was “heavily conflicted”, turns up as a main witness at the LNS Commission and presents partial evidence.

    No that won’t wash…

In 2012 the SFA Chief Exec Stewart Regan stated: “The Scottish FA has a responsibility to all its members and must implement its rules without fear or favour”

    So let’s do that…

    GFTB @ 10:07 AM,

Spot on, the anti BR briefings are a bug bear of mine, if we are going to play the blame game and what’s the point?

Let’s have it mete’d out fairly… the execs should be bid enuff and ugly enuff to take it!!

    Glad you made some cash.

I’ve become somewhat disillusioned by the goings on at Parkhead, my expectations have been managed… faith, no more.

But you are quite right, what matters now is what Celtic do…

A bhoy can indeed dream :-)

    ……………………………………..

I will look out My Tully record later to check the Label again, but I do clearly remember it states on the Label “Irish Recordings””…I dont remember “Outlet”…thats NOT to say it doesn’t ?

The ” A Side” was/is ” Celtic are the Greatest Team” sung by Tully, the “B Side” is ” The Bhoys in White and Green”. sung and Written by Tully.

Tullys voice is SO RAW…its FAB.

As for the music, someone is Playing a SQUEEZEBOX on both songs.

Funnily enough, there is NO Year on the Label, but Charlie sings about Jocxk Stein being the Manager, but makes NO MENTION of winning the Big Cup in Lisbon ?

Therefore, its safe to assume that the record was released after Jock took over in 1965 ( unless Tully was really Mystic Meg ? ), and BEFORE we won the Big Cup in Lisbon 1967, as surely Charlie would have sung about Celtic’s greatest Triumph ?

  18. Chairbhoy 10.15am

Being “disillusioned” by the going ons inside our club is never a new thing, I give the board credit for the business they run but like you and probably many others we are more interested in the team… I still think getting better players than we have to sign for us is still a very difficult job and and player we sign is probably attracted by the fixture we played last Sunday and that’s not standing up for the board, again I think (sorry Sipsini) most on here are more interested in the fitba and not the balance sheet …. but these days the football and the business both have to be successful .. unless you can trade insolvent or register players improperly :-)

  19. Good morning CQN from a very sad Garngad

Today at 08.30 my younger brother lost his fight for life.

Thomas was 42 and the youngest of our family, he was a loveable rogue, who lived on the edge.

I thank the Lord that I had some time this week to tell him how myself, my wife and his niece and nephew loved him dearly???

I would like to thank everyone on here for their prayers and kind words for Thomas over the past week.?

Thomas liked a variety of music and 2 of his most liked songs were:

    Billy Joel – Piano Man

Disturbed – The sound of silence

Me being a Dafty, I do not know how to put these songs on here, could I ask if 1 of you guys could do that for me.

Thanks again and sorry for bringing the blog down, but I have found comfort in letting you all know about a fellow Tim.

This will be the last time I do this.

    Hail Hail

  21. GREENPINATA @ 8.01

I agree, ‘this is not Neil Lennon’s side’ and how could it be?

Yet there are those quick to judge on the basis of previously held

opinion that ‘they are right ‘ and he’s worser than Ronny Deila. He was

asked by SMSM on Friday about last weeks controversy and nothing

about Livingston until he brought the subject up.

He straight batted the SMSM led defence of Sevco and their shameful

‘canny take it ness’ in a manner much missed at Celtic since the days

of Rainjurz and Sevco since 2012. SMSM have even come up with a new

descriptor of “Celtic going for the 50′ – where did they get that one?

Neil picked the best players available and is totally focussed on his remit,

he can’t play a different system overnight to delight the same Celtic support

beat the same parked buses that dogged BR at home or re invent the wheel.

The squad is running on empty and doesn’t have the same hunger having been

dumped by the previous manager, and that is where Neil Lennon has had to lift

the team psychologically, and not with pretty formations that were, or could be

better than BR. We’ll never know how BR would have done, in the 12 ditched games

and he doesn’t care, its all about Neil Lennon, and he should be given all the support

he needs to ‘get us over the line’ – his words.

A support that remains divided, but only on the internet, happily still with punters

buying the non season ticket seats verse the parked bus from Livingston and

beyond. A week to prepare and get fit for Aberdeen in the home of ‘anybody but

Celtic’ where we’re still the permanent perennial squatters.

    Hail Hail
