Well, we’re never a CL team in a million years, so perhaps tonight is a mercy… I really would hate to think what Real would do to us…
Over the 2 legs we can count ourselves unlucky. But tonight we lost it because we lacked a really top class forward, and because we took off our best midfielder at half time (was he injured?)
Steep learning curve for Ronny.
Can’t be tooooo disappointed though, considering we should never have been here, and that EL is much more our level.

New manager, £11 million in in fees and 0 spend.
Lenny over achieved and PL and JP obviously thought it was down to them.
An unacceptable performance this far from Team, management and board.
If everyone of them resigned tomorrow I wouldn’t shed a tear.
Each have their own embarrassment to look at in the mirror.
Celtic is nothing without the support. Time all at club wrote that done, memorised it and started acting like a football club rather than a play thing to make money from whether they be millions, hundreds of thousands from board room down to dugout or playing field.
Any Luvy on here backing this regime need to take a hard look at just how much they are helping to damage our great club. I’m ashamed to post on here beside you and sit at Celtic Park with you!
You could tell the players still haven’t got it. In the first half they were shouting at each other all over the place like they didn’t know where the other was supposed to be.
But for people to be saying RD should go is an absolute short sighted nonsense. He’s just in the door and (maybe naively) is trying to implement a game plan that the players have had time or are able to carry out. We need a striker.
The thing that worries me is that cutting out the full backs, preventing them getting forward, is all that seems to be needed right now to block us.

I’m angry tonight…………can’t believe what I’m sitting near.
Right near me there’s a female about 40. When the 2 balls ended up on the park, she screeched “f%ing d$+*head ballboy”. Thankfully the kid was too far away to hear.
But the worst are two guys nearby, for 70 of the 90 they dished out abuse, vile abuse to Celtic players. It’s surreal as parents sit silent with their children in adjacent areas.
Need to move, as I couldn’t continue to watch Celtic in the area.
That match report that you posted is missing a little something in its analysis.
There is no mention of the fact that Celtic were sent into this match with a selection of strikers whose European goalscoring record totalled 12 goals in 69 games. In other words they very much fail to score more often than not on this stage.
For the record – those 12 goals were scored as follows:-
Berget – 3 goals for Molde in EL qualifiers
Pukki – 7 goals (2 goals v Bangor City for Helsinki in EL qualifiers, 3 goals v Schalke for Helsinki in EL qualfiers, 2 goals v Reykavik in CL qualifiers)
Stokes – 2 goals in EL group stages v Rennes
The real story is why was a new celtic manager not given funds to buy a better standard of striker ahead of a game that could have netted the club £20 million?
The definition of madness is to do the same thing repeatedly and expect different results. The stats tell us that Stokes, Pukki and Berget are almost 7 times more likely not to score in European competition as they are to score. Why were we left with them as our only striking options tonight?
The blame for tonight lies more in the boardroom than in the dressing room.

…I, like thousands of others have invested thousands of pounds in our club over the years and again, have to witness the people who call the shots turn us into a laughing stock. I’m sick and tired of the club having absolutely no ambition whatsoever, other than grabbing the money from CL participation.
Is that what we are expected to settle for now? no investment and CL cannon fodder, when and if we get there? From what has been an exciting summer at the thought of football played the Celtic way, has turned into nightmare so far. It’s galling.

Not massively impressed with the support tonight either.
The negativity clearly transmits to the pitch, and players were being berated for simply keeping possession at 0-0 (as opposed presumably to launching it up top, Sevco-style).

How to chase half your fortnightly customers back out the door in one fell swoop.
In any business the CEO would be hunted.
In the past I have been criticised for questioning Celtic record under PL’s stewardship
As I have previously pointed out, some five months prior to him taking over we had been to Seville.
Today’s side would be lucky to get a package holiday to Seville.
As you said, in any other business he would have been hunted long ago.
All you experts pick a team. but …
if Johansen, Mulgrew, Boetrigger, Stokes ever get near a Celtic jersey then we can all chuck it!
