While I must first start by stressing they are only rumours, people have suggested that Neil Lennon will indeed be off in the summer but DD doesn’t want the new man to be tainted or associated with this train-wreck of a season.

Personally, I’d prefer the new man in ASAP so he can assess the squad but I do see the logic in this way of thinking.

I take it you have some slight reservations about him then! ;-)))

Just noticed this in your prev response-

“My view is that both Neil Lennon and PL had to go when the 10 was lost. There is no other option.

But when it happens, is not so important. It will come soon enough”

To me, this is the crux of the argument on CQN at the moment.

There are those who are happy that change will happen when change is ready.

There are others, and I include myself here, who feel that further delay is dangerous. Sevco are preparing for next season already. We are not. It took several months of this season for our mgt team to happen upon the Soro / Turnbull partnership. What chance a new team coming in June.

When do we want to start improving and start the challenge for next season? Now or wait until July?

So wit your saying is he made a BAWS of his header……….but scored anyway ….he scored from a corner, whats not to be proud of 👍

  5. Uncle Jimmy,

Good post fella. That’s where I am too. I guess we need to find some way to try and make sense of this season and remain hopeful. We’re not catching der hun but I want us to close the gap and give them something to think about next season. We have players who will be here and are worth the investment and those that won’t (sold or retired) so I’d see that through the eyes of:

Turnbull as a No. 10, not shifted to accomodate Neil’s favourites.

    Soro over Brown every time.

Ajer / Welsh at CH although I’m worried he’s our latest hyperbolic (Frimpong, El Hamed, Johnston were holders and all have fallen away). Let him develop.

    Callum further up the park.

Barkas in goal. Best of the 3.

HH and enjoy your night…Masked Singer just started :)

  6. FEE agreed for EH to go home , says NL .

A player i thought could have done well for us , but if he/s homesick there’s no point the guy being miserable . good luck EH.

  7. Stuart hogg

    Hamish Watson.

    World class rugby players..

Night shift drivers nephew is hugh Jones played the day..

Says Watson is fucking like granite..

    Well done Scotland…☘

  8. Big Wavy

I agree with every syllable there! On the money.

I’m not sure many agree with my posts, however, so you may wish to reconsider your opinion!!

  9. I thought Elhamed looked a real good player when he first signed. However, injuries and spells on the bench may have taken something from his sharpness and he became as error-prone as the rest of our defence – especially at the highest level.

Wish the guy well though and maybe he’ll find his feet again in Israel.

  10. glendalystonsils on

I thought Broony had an excellent game today . Unfortunately tired in the second half and left a Broony shaped hole in front of the defence at the Motherwell goal . I would continue to start him but maybe sub him a bit sooner . Not that NL does ‘sooner’.

  11. We should be calling them out – do it after a win, especially.

The health and safety of our playing staff is at stake.

And never indulge a wee sleekit ( sorry Jim ) troll.

Any Celtic win, is a good day…………….

You post well when you post about Celtic. Much better than veiled digs at posters who you are rarely able to mention.

  14. I didnae witness Todays game.

I know Tuesday saw an energised Broonie, same again Today apparently.

Broonie shouldn’t be playimg all the Time now. He still has a role, to play, on the Billy Stark.

  15. Geebee,

I would prefer a new man in Asap as I dint think they will be tarnished with anything that has happened this season.

SC is scrubbed anyway and the league is a long shot😁😁😁

My thinking is the CL qualification as this is the holy grail and we must be prepared for the early matches coming.

But we might not even make second some would have you believe. Who knows they might have a new guy lined up already and he is at a club.

But if all the talk of our CEO winning loads, then the new guy must be great.

    Hail hail

  16. how are refs made accountable ? the morelos, Roofe and Cole incident are not even debatable – the refs were close to the incidents, yet saw something different. This should be raised by celtic , not just to complain – but to demand a complete review and overhaul of the culture of refereeing in this country.

A culture laid by high Dallas , a culture based on resentment and hatred.

No one trusts these clowns but Celtic need to find a way to change it. I’m not convinced VAR will help – who reviews VAR ? the same cheats running the game today.

The are 20+ clear because of refs and MAJOR decisions for week in week out

  17. CORKCELT on 6TH FEBRUARY 2021 6:52 PM

Scotland didn’t just beat England, they hammered them.

    #####

How many of them declined to take the knee?

  18. Rc-rogic has won us games galore ya ejit 😉

FB on today’s performance, imo he appeared promising but ultimately a disappointment

  19. UNCLE JIMMY on 6TH FEBRUARY 2021 7:36 PM

Apparently only four of the sottish players and twelve of the english players took the knee.

    Not a good look.

  20. The are 20+ clear because of refs and MAJOR decisions for week in week out

agree , even the 4th official saw nothing .

  21. Ernie

I have my own thoughts, and indeed reservations, on the ‘take the knee’ initiative.

As someone who has been actively engaged in anti racism events around the west of scotland, I remain a cynic on this one.

  22. Well, a great day of sport. Celtic zipping the ball about, creating lots of chances/half chances, dominating posession, scoring a couple of good goals…then all the wheels nearly fell off. Followed by Scotland dominating and beating the English on their own patch. Enjoyable ;-))

    H.H.

  23. Demots worth is 2b thats 2,000,000,000 . You thin he gives a rats arse about a Celtic dividend?

  24. UNCLE JIMMY on 6TH FEBRUARY 2021 7:47 PM

Scots gave the world the KKK.

England and Scotland were up to their necks in the slave trade.

In that context players representing their country declining to take the knee has a particular resonance.

  25. PeterLatchfordsBelly on 6th February 2021 4:57 pm

Laxalt is a mass of contradictions. Outstanding defender. Fantastic without the ball, abysmal with it.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Maybe the other players around him are making him look bad????????????????

  26. Adi and Ernie

    I despise racism.

In soccer context, I have recently seen Celtic players subjected to anti Irish racism and sectarian abuse when entering Ibrox. However, all players then ‘took the knee’ on the pitch so everything is cool. No harm, no foul.

There was a global movement ‘Me too’ . This was particularly relevant for soccer as some footballers had been accused, and a few convicted, of sexual offences against women. British football chose not to engage in this one.

To combat homophobia (a word I dislike as a phobia describes an irrational fear) players wore rainbow laces once or twice. Not much of a statement really.

The trigger for ‘take the knee’ appears to have been an incident in the US, hundreds of miles away from your average soccer ground in this country. This incident was abhorrent and is being fully prosecuted as I understand it.

Ernie, you are correct to reference the Ulster scotch roots of the KKK though you’ll acknowledge we haven’t been taking the knee since then.

Like Thursday night claps and poppies, each to their own. Group think is rarely democratic

  27. I didn’t see the ‘taking the knee business’ in the rugby but if Scotland wanted to get England coming out all guns blazing, that was the way to do it.

Whatever you think of the English rugby team, they have several players either black or mixed race.

I’m sure there’s an innocent explanation – after all a lot of the Scottish players play at club level in England.
