    I got parked today in Summerfield Street, near Gear Terrace, so I was quick on to Dalmarnock Road. I make that a 10 minute walk and a less than 5 minute delay to get on to Dalmarnock Road. I have one traffic light to get by before I take the left at Downiebrae Rd./ Duchess Rd. and I’m out on Cambuslang Road near junction 2 exits for the M74 and with 2 more sets of lights and about a mile to my house.

     

     

    I am very lucky in my commute (usually Cambuslang to Dalmarnock Train Station) and that I can walk quickly still to a spot that gets me away quickly. Those that have to park nearer the ground have a much much longer wait.

     

     

    As I said, I am fortunate but I was telling the truth and I have no reason to lie. I left the stadium immediately on the final whistle and did not stay to applaud. I would say , around 50% of the stadium had left before the final whistle.

    Refs were also shit in England, the Lester penalty was awful but at least we get to see it via VAR even if it is still wrong.

    Maybe the manager and the players could ask the board to reconsider any plans to appoint Higgins.

     

     

     

    They don’t have to do it publicly if they’d prefer not to.

    I’ll limit my comment on the Higgins situation as i know little about him and I’ve not researched in any way. In my view the GB should back the team, if they wish to protest they have every right but failing to back the team or/and actively hindering the team is a non starter. Whichever way you dress it the GB are wilfully withholding support. The PLC are never going to answer to any fan group on an individual appointment. They will need to answer to shareholders on whatever appointments they make but as ever the only true voice the fans have is when they don’t put bums on seats. Nothing else will resonate.

    I thought the GB banner made it very clear that The Celtic Board, and specifically Mr. Nicholson, were the ghost(s) that had yet to come (and speak with them). Wonder if DD has ordered them not to but, to me, the Board look like the unwilling negotiators.

     

     

    Any switched on Board would see room for an agreement to be made about drowning out the recent emergence of “Roaming in t’Gloaming” and could point to some very stringent recent criticism from our own in the 6 Counties about introducing sectarian songs back into our repertoire.

     

     

    DD can avoid any implication that he has backed down by leaving this to Mr. Nicholson’s initiative, if he posseses such.

    The very fact that the GB are getting critisied for being silent is indivicative of any industrial dispute. Withdraw any extra support or return to work to rule practices kinds of makes you the bad guy.

    Its not an industrial dispute. Fan groups don’t decide which individuals company’s appoint. Lets deal with facts. Anyone can protest but its not an industrial dispute.

    The GB don’t have a position to negotiate from. Its not a negotiation. Its not Michael Nicholson’s job to negotiate individual appointment with fan groups. You’ve just stated that you want a PLC board to negotiate an appointment with a group that engages in sectarian signing. That is your position?

    What you either don’t know, or are choosing to ignore, is that Higgins represents an existential threat to the GB.

     

     

    Bottom line: if he’s appointed, the GB are out, and CP will fall silent.

     

     

    Who the hell wants that?

     

     

    I’m sure the manager doesn’t and I’m sure the players don’t.

    Ernie, i’m not commenting on Higgins as i don’t know much about him. I’m only stating the overriding facts as i see them.

     

     

    You state that Higgins motive is to end the GB, what evidence his there to support this?

    I would like to see The Green Brigade put banners up regarding the treatment we get from certain journalists in the media and T V ,and the blatant way ex Sevco employees are favoured over other players at different clubs ie BBC Sportscene ,Radio,Sky Sports and Radio Clyde.

    We payed without a proper / fully functioning MF.

     

     

    NB — after some good performances at DM — was back to his chopstick / knitting needle legs worst.

     

    Just never seemed to be even close to dominating the middle of the park.

     

     

    TR played some good stuff / scored a good goal — and missed a couple of sitters — but he seemed to be put off by their rugby tackle / octopus tactics and it got to him eventually to the point that he wanted a gumshield.

     

     

    DT played a good 30 minutes and padded it out with some half ersed play and a lack of desire — the attempt to lob the keeper was just an indication that he needs a lot of support and a view from the bench now and again.

     

     

    CMcG did his usual disappearing act.

     

     

    The team did not play well — they all looked jaded from Thursday night’s game.

     

    Plus they did not play for each other — nobody wanted the ball and everybody was too quick to give it back / ship it on. Incredible that both the CB’s don’t seem to want to bring the ball forward and take the space that the opposition give up.

     

     

    Instead of playing from the halfway line they all too often want to spread long passes from 10M out our box.

     

     

    New squad with a new captain not yet settled down to understand and appreciate their team mates.

     

     

    AP has a tough gig.

     

     

    JF needs a lot of support / help to get him back into the groove.

     

    I would buy / rent / loan PR back to CP to re-light his fire.

     

    There must be a song in there somewhere.

     

    He needs help.

     

     

    The three sub rule is hurting the SPL.

     

    And it is hurting us more than anyone else.

    On the silent protest, here is what the players think:

     

    Asked about the impact on the players, Juranovic told The Herald:

     

     

    We noticed it. When we came in afterwards we were speaking about it and how we never really heard them singing. We were joking we should join the protest and sit on the pitch and drink coffee!

     

     

    It made a difference. When the fans sing it is the main thing here. We play for them and they cheer for us.

     

     

    When they cheer we play better so hopefully it will come back soon. Our main focus in on the game on Wednesday and then we will prepare for the Final.

    SKY were up to their usual tricks — no replay after the second goal just in case it showed an offside.

     

    Putting their ground mics in front of the Great Unwashed Support so that was what could be heard in their commentary.

     

     

    Still no questions in the media about the Giant Money Tree that is keeping them afloat.

     

    Just another ordinary season in the SPL.

     

     

    We need to spend big in Jan.

     

    At least 6 quality signings to bulk up the squad and prepare for next season.

    I’m totally scunnered about how these Referees/Assistants are doing whit they are daeing. Likely my last Season going to see the Celts, I’m sure the Wee Man will be going all the time. This Board isnae protecting it’s own Employees/Customers. Indeed, as you say, January will be interesting.

     

     

    The MSM/SMSM can hide so much and in the same vein show so much it wants you to see.

    My so-called position is news to me.

     

     

    I am in favour of Mr. Nicholson speaking with the GB and trying to reslve issues while letting DD save face, if that is important to him.

     

     

    I did not accuse th GB of sectarian singing; in fact I think they would deplore it. However there are people near to the GB section and in the away crowd who have recently started sectarian singing and I think the GB could drown them out, if motivated.

     

     

    Happy to explain – all you have to do is ask.

    IF anyone questioned as to how I could attend a Celtic game at Celtic Park, and be home around 20/30 minutes later…….I would LIE….and tell the Chump that I used my very own PRIVATE HELICOPTER !

     

    In all seriousness, IF I left Celtic Park at around 4.50pm, as the full time whistle went and I managed to get a Bus and/or a Taxi straight away, I could be home within 10 minutes of the full time whistle as I live near Glasgow Cross.

     

    Why anyone would question you on ” How Long” it took you to get home is beyond me…its NONE of their feckin business !

    The ultras do not need to sing if they don’t want to. It is entirely their perogative to remain silent.

     

    However by the same token, the rest of the support don’t need to dance to their tune when they decide to end their vow of silence.

    A referee that does not know the rules at a corner

     

    Or

     

    A goalkeepers kick out

     

    And more importantly constantly getting in the way of our play by standing inmiddle between our players, so we cannot take that pass

     

    And that’s setting aside the fouls he let go

     

    Horrendous refereeing display, absolutely horrendous
