Our play is torpid and will not attract fans to games; in fact some season book holders I know rarely go at all.
Ronny spoke of high fitness levels, and a high pressing game. It is not happening. ‘Judge me in Europe,’ if he said that he has written his own obituary.
My main concern is that the management team do not seem to learn from mistakes and they have a belief that our players are better than the opponents and someone will do something. In other words-best of a bad bunch. The problem is that so called lesser players appear to be organised better; have worked on corners, throw-ins, free kicks; and their teams display some fight and leadership.
Similar type players are purchased and a place is found for them in a position not suited to their abilities. Armstrong and Allan are good footballers who I believe will thrive in central midfield. They are forward thinking and will test defences. At the moment our central midfield play square ball after square ball, pivot, try flicks and lose possession. Over and over.
Aberdeen pose a real threat to our league chances and it is good to have competition. Rooney, McGinn and Hayes know how to play in the SPFL. They have their limitation as a team but they will run us close and if Leigh picks up a serious injury I’m afraid their odds will shorten. Ciftci or Cole anyone? Are we a retirement home with a nice view of the Campsies for strikers?
Personally I don’t know about player recruitment, if it is true that PL and JP buy the players and foist them onto the manager that says more about him. That’s never going to work and shouldn’t be tolerated. Some leadership and experience is needed in our team, without Broony I don’t see it. We do have some promise there but they appear to be getting held back. Johansen, Bitton and Forrest could go for me, raise some funds and give it to a manager not out of his depth.
I agree with a lot of what you say re the board, as for John Collins…no way, I would put money on him being the cause of any trouble in the dressing room. HH
Why if you don’t mind me asking?? I see this regularly on the board about John Collins I haven’t read anything to suggest that he is the problem at Celtic so where does this come from? Insiders??

My friends in Celtic,
Contrary to what has been posted on here the Celtic supporters I know are not stupid, idiotic, gullible, pathetic or moronic.
But the supporters who made the effort to go yesterday definitely deserved better. A fair percentage showed what they thought at the end ,as is their right for such an inept display. As many SB holders are already voting with their feet the danger is that our hardcore support who actually make the effort will become that disillusioned that they will also stay away.
Ultimately that will decide our future.

Tom Boyd is better than SuperSutton on
Still say I enjoyed th game yesterday, but not the result. Some random thoughts.
What is obvious to me is that that we need a natural left winger. Centre midfielders being tasked with the role just doesn’t work. I thought GMS was going to be that man.
I also considered how good the Well left winger was. Exhilarating pace and puts in a good cross. Something which Tierney is also very good at BTW. However, I then thought, to use that pace you need space in behind the full back. Something we allow due to being on the attack most of the game, but something we are denied by being on the attack most of the game.
Tom Rogic. Love him. Why did we stop giving him the ball. And why sub him?
Boyata. Crikey, another really good game AND he took on and completed more low-percentage passes that put us on the front foot than anyone else in the team.
Bitton. It was all going so well when he scored. And then he overdone it. Got involved in a situation which Tierney had control of and messed up, leading directly to the penalty. And then he missed the sitter from the corner.
Tierney. Another fantastic game. Did we see the first ever “mistake” from him which fortunately the Well forward put over the bar. If so, at the time I was actually hoping he would attempt what he did attempt rather than playing the easy, obvious pass. The charge down favoured the Well forward. It could have gone anywhere.
Commons. Targeted early on by Well. The late, dangerous tackle on him by McManus (I think) in the first 5 minutes deserved a red. Didn’t even earn a yellow. Seriously?
Gordon. Some excellent saves. Not a fan of him going up for corners. On a windy day like yesterday I was surprised the Well keeper didn’t have a shot a goal when Gordon was standing beside him. He had demonstrated during the game the distance was no problem.
Ciftci and Cole. A big NO from me. I don’t see anything that resembles SPL class never mind anything better
Only my opinion mate but he comes across as an arrogant bully…his way or no way.
He was foisted upon RD, whom I reckon had no say on the matter as the board was wanting to pacify an angry crowd.
We are where we are due to a board being caught off guard when NL put his cards on the table.
P.S…. Kev j has not hijacked my moniker:)
The No.13 Shorts on
My gut feeling is that the finger of blame should be pointing in the direction of the self-serving changing room clique. The day Ronny gave Commons a second chance was the day it started to unravell for him. Advantage taken of someone with a good nature and the interests of the team as a whole, rather than the interest of the individual, at heart. Also, major management problems start at the top and trickle downwards. Dermot Desmond and the Murphia need to get to Parkead, via SatNav, pronto.

Still Scunnered – Motherwell – at home, Mark McGhee, Scott McDonald, Keith Lasley, did you no see that coming Ronnie? Clearly not, and if he seriously thinks it was simply all down to the defence, then we’d better get ready for much much more of the same. Lose at Tynecastle on Wed and I doubt he’ll make it past January.
Cheers mate, I just wondered if there was something going around as I heard from a Hibs mate that the problem at Hibs was he tackled the drinking culture there and the players didn’t like it.
A lot of people in the Celtic support seem to have a problem with him I never really understood it to be honest, he comes across to me as a dedicated guy, professional in what he does, it’s like Ronny getting pelters for wanting the players to eat well for me that’s the least you can do as a pro at Celtic look after yourself and train hard:))
I reckon the board got him on the team with Ronny as they weren’t expecting Neil to go and were caught on the hop and RD would need some insider knowledge of the Scottish game.
Anyway yesterday wasn’t the worst I’ve seen us although always disappointing to lose to Motherwell..

I was raging at the game – if Stephen was wearing hoops that was a red card yet not even a booking. Same with pearson – and McDonald. Lasley committed his usual dozen fouls without a yellow and early in the second half I said we would pick up the first bookings which was the only booking
Their keepers time wasting was constant but not even spoken to and I think he was more interested in time wasting than shooting for goal with Gordon beside him

Few of us wished Deila to fail. It has happened mate, he’s gone. He was holed below the water-line soon after taking over. He failed to deal with the problem and since then we have sailed on, but taking in water and getting lower in the stream.
The time to get behind Ronny has come and gone. It didn’t work and the realisation in the support at the game was marked, by the disquiet, for me.
I’m a Celtic supporter, but what I’m watching is abject. Yesterday, I left early when we resorted to launching high balls into Cole.
Our tactics until then seemed to be the usual ponderous, slow build-up, with 6 or 7 Celtic players condensed into a small area passing the ball with little effect. When we get the ball wide it’s seldom in space and usually means we have one target in the box.
Ronny (not just him of course) has reduced us.
Here’s a wee observation how that came about, but there have been many. The Dundee United trio. Last year United weren’t too good eh ? How many of us reckoned they had a player able to fill a Celtic jersey ? Armstrong was a reasonable shout. But the wee guy, GMS and Ciftci ? 3 of that poor United team……….how could anyone think such a chunk of a poor team could improve the team at the top ? That puzzled and concerned me. Pu simply….winners…… win………..
ps Did you watch Gordon yesterday ? Repeatedly slow to react and sweep, that’s a strange one, for me. He’s usually “on the case” when it comes to long through punts/balls.
Greenpinata on
Imo any players not giving 100 percent should be shown the door. No exceptions.
I can forgive crap performances as long as 100 percent effort has been applied, but I can never forgive less than 100 percent application.
Hail, Hail to all and especially those who made the effort yesterday.
CultsBhoy can not relate to Celtic Board ambitions on or off the park on
how did Rogic play yesterday? I’ve only seen him a few times and technically he is excellent. Great vision too but I fear his Achilles heel will be down right lack of pace. Whenever I see him on the team sheet I think we’ll struggle. Armstrong should always be ahead of him but his versatility probably works against him. You can put SAM on the Wing – that would never be an option with TR..

BCW,
Derk Boerrigter is a classic example of our signing policy. The dogs in the street knew he was a sick note specialist.
Why did we not have a fitness medical evey year built into his contract? Or pay as you play deal ?
In some occupations passing a periodic medical is a condition of employment. Why not football?
Hurts me to say this Celtic team must be the worst team since Lou Macari days.HH.
Rock Tree Bhoy on
Boerighter being shown the door, he must be some player if he cant get into that squad, personally the one player I think does tend to disappear as soon as the going gets tough is JF. Would be happy to see him keep Boerighter company on his way out. He’s definitely not Celtic class, but alas he’s not alone.

Heavy rain and a feels cold 10 degrees -way down south .. Been a while since it last rained – a shock to the system.
Yesterday ? — a laugh or cry number for me . The 25 yard jogs to make a 5 yard pass , the sideways passes which are then passed backwards for the defence to hump up the park in search of 2 big lumps up front . The square pegs in round holes formation . The Oh Dear , the lack of concentration , the lack of leadership , the not showing for the ball.etc etc ..
Much improvement needed !
BIG-CUP-WINNERS on
Heard a few moans at Bitton yesterday, when he got caught with the ball. Perhaps, the issue is actually those not showing for the ball ie hiding.
The Battered Bunnet on
I enjoyed the company and footballing wisdom of the inetimable Eurochamps at yersterday’s game. It’s always good to listen to the observations of an informed Celtic supporter as the game progresses, and Eurochamps gets full marks on both counts. Fellow disappeared on me as we walked out of the stadium though. I can only assume he used the portkey in the wimmins toilets in FS2 to transport back to Springfield Rd and miss the rain.
Motherwell were worth their win yesterday. No question.
Ronny will doubtless have been getting it in the neck since full time, and he is due some criticism from the perspective that, without Broonie and Griffiths yesterday, his team were smack-bang ordinary.
5’8″ Skippy time and again rag-dolled our 6 foot-plus centre halves (oughtn’t it be centres half?) which is a worry, Motherwell used pace to take our centre mids out of the game, while Ciftci provided no answers to the question: What is he doing at Celtic Park at all?
It was a poor performance from Celtic in the second half, and a poor result against a team that has been struggling for 2 seasons, but I’m not convinced this in isolation represents a pattern of results sufficient to put Ronny in the box marked “Mowbray, Barnes and Brady”.
What is does do is deminstrate how fraught talk of a ‘Treble’ is. Any team in the top league, on its day (and off ours) can beat us.
The concern, given the modesty of domestic opposition, is that it’ll be next August before we know if faith vested in Ronny is well-placed.
Joe Filippis Haircut on
I really belief we should be having a clear out before we go looking at bringing in other players we will all have the players we dont rate but I feel the list is growing by the week. H.H.
Motherwell wall not back 10,was the least of our problems yesterday.
embramike says "the Huns are Deid" on
After watching yesterday’s insipid display, it’s just been a pleasure to watch (on Android box) Barca comfortably beat River Plate 3-0 in the World Club Final in Yokohama.
A Messi first half goal and 2 from Suarez in the 2nd secured their 5th trophy of the year and it’s hard to see anyone stopping them this season on this form as they were so far ahead of the South American champions.
Difficult to believe that 3 years ago we were basking in the glory of that amazing 2-1 victory against Barca. If we played them again I shudder to think what would happen especially when Real Madrid took 8 off Malmo recently.
Still Celtic through and through and impatient for a return to winning ways against the Jambos. Will make the pints in the Roseburn Bar taste all the sweeter Sunday night HH

Imo any players not giving 100 percent should be shown the door. No exceptions.
I can forgive crap performances as long as 100 percent effort has been applied, but I can never forgive less than 100 percent application.
Hail, Hail to all and especially those who made the effort yesterday.
Good Afternoon.
Here are some thoughts on that brilliant statue-unveiling yesterday.
https://theclumpany.wordpress.com/2015/12/19/hail-hail/
how did Rogic play yesterday? I’ve only seen him a few times and technically he is excellent. Great vision too but I fear his Achilles heel will be down right lack of pace. Whenever I see him on the team sheet I think we’ll struggle. Armstrong should always be ahead of him but his versatility probably works against him. You can put SAM on the Wing – that would never be an option with TR..

Thing is we can’t show them the door. The likes of Derk, comes to mind.

What about the Motherwell wall at the second half free kick.
Over the last twenty four hours we have had the usual quota of moon howlers calling for the heads of RD, JC and PL.
Given that they will be replaced with the same again, apart from satisfying a temporary bloodlust what will their removals achieve?
BCW,
Derk Boerrigter is a classic example of our signing policy. The dogs in the street knew he was a sick note specialist.
Why did we not have a fitness medical evey year built into his contract? Or pay as you play deal ?
In some occupations passing a periodic medical is a condition of employment. Why not football?
HH.
Hurts me to say this Celtic team must be the worst team since Lou Macari days.HH.
Boerighter being shown the door, he must be some player if he cant get into that squad, personally the one player I think does tend to disappear as soon as the going gets tough is JF. Would be happy to see him keep Boerighter company on his way out. He’s definitely not Celtic class, but alas he’s not alone.

Hopefully. We’ll get a manager who reasonably convinces he knows what he is doing.
Frightening to write, but Ronny doesn’t seem as if he knows what to do.
Can’t see Celtic getting rid of Ronny.2 out of 3 trophies last Season. Top of the league and cemi final of another cup. Will do anything he’s told of the Suits. Honestly just can’t see them pulling the trigger. Rumours Desmond flying in for a meeting tomorrow.
Heard a few moans at Bitton yesterday, when he got caught with the ball. Perhaps, the issue is actually those not showing for the ball ie hiding.
I really belief we should be having a clear out before we go looking at bringing in other players we will all have the players we dont rate but I feel the list is growing by the week. H.H.
Motherwell wall not back 10,was the least of our problems yesterday.
