For non season tickets holder it was only £5 a kid and £15 for an adult for tonights game.

In my opinion that is a good value for money and I would spend more if I went to Pizza Hut for lunch……but I would not get the same enjoyment.

    Hail Hail

Just in from the game…….another kick about ….. Low key, some good play ……..we will see big improvement when the competitive games start and the ‘best’ team is out……….the young Bhoys are looking good, but need to work on ‘the best pass’ …….. great banter on the demise of the bhuns……. The pies will, hopefully, improve as we move into the season…..LOL

  3. The team need to understand that scoring a goal or even better, goals brings out their collective confidence and everything flows from that. More creativity in the last third aligned to a determined ruthlessness when in the box are required imo. Not a good idea to just hope that it all comes together when it really matters. . . . . . so i hope we now hump Inter :)

Don’t feel too sorry. Most fans realise that all first team squad members are given more game time in pre-season friendlies than in competitive games.

Let down? In a pre-season friendly?

Think we need a Richter Scale of Let Down-ness.

I’ve been going to Celtic games for over 40 years. I know what it’s like to be let down and just now doesn’t scratch the surface.

Wee question. If you were told last pre-season that we’d win the league and in 12 months face 2 unseeded teams in CL qualifiers, but that we’d lose 2 or 3 pre-season games……did you ever envisage yourself or the fans in general feeling let down?

  5. I never watched the game..I’ve no idea the team we fielded…I don’t know the result………………………… but I just know that was an embarrassment.

    Two goals in five games

    One clean sheet

Only friendlies, some say …me I’d rather we weren’t so damned awful

do you think we were awful tonight???

I didn’t….a few players looked to be getting their touch back, we didn’t have our best team out but in general I thought it was a good step forward. Another step forward on saturday and we should be ready for the real games

However Murphy and Wilson just won’t do

I am looking forward to seeing Twardzik getting more games, he could be special given time

  9. Well said tully….

I remember tiny Mowbray having an exceptional pre season…..

Then …. When it really mattered we just took it on the CHIN !!!!

  10. Sydney Tim. Along with thousands of other Genuine Celtic supporters I honestly resent your patronising pity for those who attended tonight. I attended when man u 3rd team beat us 3 0 pre season in GS days. I attended 3 months later when we beat man u to qualify for last 16 in cl. I was surrounded by negative ignorants that night. Ignorants who moaned until the 75 minute we ere not doing it the Celtic way. Some who claim to support Celtic are really never happier than when they are moaning. You seem to be one of those. I hope you have some happiness elsewhere in your life to compensate for how unhappy Celtic make you.

  11. Johan via Celtic’s official Twitter.

Kelvin Wilson has shin splints and will have a scan.

Lukasz will be fine – just a cut

Until now training has been focussed on fitness and now we can loosen up and be be a bit more tactical.

Most who start on Saturday will play against Helsinki

We are looking for a centre-half and even a striker would be helpful. But it’s too early to say if we will be successful.

  12. watched whole game on Celtic Tv: great feed. Much better by a country mile than Ajax game. Agree Murphy should be hunted, why do we persevere with him? Positives: Samaras back to last season’s form; Commons beter than start of last seson; Twarzic could(Should?) replace Brown. Lustig slotted in well at CB; Victor was nearly back to his best(lost possesion too easily for thir undeserved goal) Paddy played really well.

Referee absolutely inept: gave Celtic no protection from a ‘Robust’ Norwich side and kept getting in the way of Celtic attacks. Quite pleased despite the result

  13. We have 4 creative type players of note mc court, Forrest ,mc geough, commons that’s not good enough for me we lack a proper number 10 lubo esque a thought ibrahim would have been that player but seems he’s not near 1st team ,also how bad must bangura be showing up in training for murphy to be getting a game in front if him

Ps- get wanyama up front !!

I have a handicap …….. I simply LOVE watching the Bhoys in green, at PARADISE…..LOL…….and I am a naturally ‘cup half-full’ chappie ….. NEIL’s best team will ‘arrive’ soon

  15. Hello Bloke – just came on to please you!

I didnt go tonight – bought my season ticket on Monday and was too busy to go and collect it.

I have many views on the Board as you know – but right now I am just looking forward to going back and laughing at the huns.

  16. The Hat.

The board can’t just go out and buy a hawk. You need licences for those things. The SFA would make up a rule that unlicensed use of birds of prey is worse than years of cheating and demote us to the juniors.

All we need is a cat, surely. If the seagulls are nesting in the stadium, they will be dangerous beasts for mere humans to tackle, but a cat would stroll it. Cats can climb girders, hang upside down, the lot.

  17. Just back in from the game and about to scroll back.

In my own opinion we looked better in the 2nd half but a few players were still a bit reluctant and/or slow in their tackling and reading of the game. But I recognise we don’t want injuries in pre season friendlies. Thought Commons, Sami and Twarditz (sp) did well with decent showings from Paddy, Forrest and Hooper – who seemed to get regularly kicked.

Right, time to read if anyone else thought the same…

  18. Not surprised by the lack of goals.

Scottish Football generally and Celtic specifically are terrible for being lazy pre-August, sometimes the lethargy lasts for several months.

Not just a criticism of Celtic, but of the way Football players in this country expect to be worshipped without putting in 100%, well even 20% effort during the off season.

I would personally dock pay for poor performance.

By poor performance I mean measure the VO2 max level, and pay the player wages proportional to that level for the duration of their contract.

Failure to deliver fitness wise results in effectively a disciplinary breach of contract.

Thought young Twardzik had a good game tonight…

Starry…he has something about him……a wee bit arrogant as well which is good in his position, some of his flicks are sublime, he can only grow in my opinion, could be a star

  20. TwoTunTimfromTeddington on

Sounds like tonight’s game had a few positives compared to the Ajax game, but why Daryl Murphy? Is a contract thing or maybe just to put him in the shop window. Surely Lenny must know he will not be part of his plans for next season.

Best place for him to learn is at Celtic Park, he held his own tonight against a pretty rough EPL team…

Commons looks sharp which is good news for us, thought Big Mick Lustig did alright too..

  26. pre season games are

    for fitness

    tactical experimentation

and a good look at the squad

but to book norwich for a home game???

yer hardly gonna pull a big crowd

tho we are at their level

which is no to bad at this stage

i hope inter dont paste us too badly

    but we will skud helsinki

    one team in glagow

  27. Let’s not get to worried!! Murphy isn’t celtic class, never was , never will be! Lenny sees this! Good to see commons and Sami doing well.

These games are all about fitness! Sure a win would be nice but remember tony mowbrays pre season!! Look what happened after!! Keep the faith in Neil! Hail hail!

  28. Pggtips2 @ 22.42.

You are correct, the fitness of our players is a disgrace,if they put in the same effort as they, allegedly, put into their drinking seasons, they would be superstars.I am not just talking about our players,I am talking about the British player generally..HH

  29. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

The Celtic didn’t look like scoring once Sammy and Commons were subbed.

Beforehand I thought we played well enough, moved the ball and competed with Norwich, a typically big physical Premiership team.

When the Greek came off their defence didn’t have a worry.

Puzzled why the team that will line-up against the Finns didn’t start. Surely Forster, Wanyama, Ledley, Brown and Hooper will play in that game.

    Samaras was my MoTM.

Bring back Landry N’Guemo and his white–tailed eagle, Mr George [Weah]

  31. Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire on

a couple of games in that position would seev Paddy a permanent fixture.

    Celtic First,

another good reason to bring back Landry :o)

  32. Finally managed to find WiFi after 4 days of CQN abstinence! Cold turkey was kicking in, fine weather here in Albufeira, but need the old CQN fix. Well we are back to hearing the Moaning Minnies complaining again. The guys who were vocificerous before the 3-3 Killie game, gie us peace!! When we are out of Europe and have lost 6 or 7 competitive games then maybe your moaning will take on some credence but until then start supporting the team you purport to support and have some faith.
