Signing event in Stirling

Joe Miller will be at Waterstones in Stirling tomorrow (Thurs) from 5pm to sign copies of Caesar and the Assassin, Billy McNeill and Davie Hay’s account of managing Celtic from 1978 to 1991, told in their own words to Alex Gordon.

Joe is a great character who worked under McNeill, Hay and Alex Ferguson, and now heads the Celtic Former Players Association. If you’re in the Stirling area, get along and bring your camera.

The 2015 CQN Annual is through design and ready to ship next week. You can pre-order yours now.

  1. Sorry if anyone took offence at my attempt at irony earlier. This zombie only now thinks they’re in trouble….

    C & P from bigots r us ….

I thought McLeish’s last years and PLG’s short lived reign was bad,but this is has just been a total horror show from the beginning.I no longer find any enjoyment in watching Rangers,it’s turned into a chore.

We are in serious trouble if Ally remains in charge,it’s that simple.

  2. Hail Hail!

    The Celts are here!

Good 3 points. Thanks to Craig at the end. Should have been 3 in front by that point though. Missing too many chances.

McCulloch elbowed an Alloa player full on the jaw with intent whilst having no regard for the ball. He then bends down and shouts in the poor chap he almost knocked unconscious ear.

    Result? Yellow card.

    ———

    For whom?

  5. I hope BT backed Alloa he highlighted their price last night,

Ohhhhh and another reason I enjoy McCoists pain.

His words from 1994 when we were in trouble

“Thats their problem, but I cant say i’m not enjoying what is happening to them at the moment”

Didn’t make the game tonight (and no it wasn’t so I could sit in and watch the action in the Petrofac latter stages) having been at the corresponding fixture on ne’er day, it sounds to have been a similar story right down to the temperature.

    Thanks for the updates guys.

Whats the betting not one of the Snyde pundits, or Shortie for that matter, calls for the head of Snowman?

Im sure that would have been fun

    B-)

  13. Just back from the game and I thought we were generally poor tonight, here are my thoughts.

Lack of consistency, why are we so inconsistent? I think its related to the shape of the team we are not playing 4231,we are playing 244 and sometimes 235,there is no room to play and not enough interchange between the front players.Tonight for example we lost all of the best attributes of Johansen by effectively playing him as the second striker most of the time.We have no genuine pace in the team so we do not break quickly enough and our passing is generally very poor.

My biggest issue however is Anthony Stokes, how many times do we need to see him in the wide left role to realise he contributes nothing? When was the last time he contributed to the overall performance? Tonight he misplaced virtually every pass he played, made no attempt to help Izzy defensively and missed two sitters, not much of a night really,he needs to be dropped. Can’t we try a genuine wide player there?

Anyway getting a little annoyed at the lack of real progress, not in results but in performances I have no confidence that we will play well in any game at any time we are relying too much on individuals playing well, tonight it was VVD.

Beginning to lose faith I’m afraid.

  14. Not scintillating but Celtic took another step towards an inevitable title win this evening.

I know many will disagree but I really think we need Commons back playing regularly to give us some inventiveness and creativity.

Ronny seems to be playing Johansen in a more advanced role these days, playing off the striker. This position is tailor made for Commons and in my opinion he’d create far more than Stefan.

I’m not saying Johanson shouldn’t be in the team, he should, just not in that position.

  15. BT,

You just put the seed in the Heid, I’ve been lying low of late due to this chest infection.

Yep, sounds good to me, should get in for about 3.00.

  16. Pogmathonyahun aka Laird of the Smiles on

And what is behind door 3 in the Petrofac Advent Calendar? Yes that’s right, it’s the Exit.

  17. Missed the game tonight.

    Working. Boo hoo.

    Listened to shortbread.

VVD was singled out for lots of praise.

Then there was alloa. Almost as entertaining as the score was the how Derek Fergushon kept going on about all zombies who’d travelled DOWN for the game!!!

Does he think alloa’s next to Dumfries or something?!?!

Hurting Hunz. Nae history. Nae geography.

Oh, and he reckons his brother could play for the new rankers. Mibbee he could. Now that’s damning both with faint praise. I like that. I like it a lot.

Agree about Johansen we lose his value in the second striker role.

I get the increasing feeling that Kris’ time is up at Celtic, and he will be off soon. Hope I’m wrong. Love the wee man.
