We did that so we move on, hope Mikey J’s ankle injury isn’t too serious.

Much improved when Jota came on. Happy with the result and no injuries- Raith – left a boot in at every tackle and followed through, if they were close enough, at every Shy, multiple examples of Celtic players being tackled after the ball had crossed the line.

Bitton penalty reflective of the team performance (before subs). Poor execution, but got over the line. :-)

no players played great before the 2nd goal and it must be harder for a single player trying to shine in a team with 7 changes
easier for the team as a whole when jota appears, its 2-0, and the raith players have already worked their socks off
I thought it was a bit tough to take G-Mac off. No service for the first half,
gets some when Jota comes on, scores then is hooked. Tough gig.

Scales is a footballer, the real deal, classy.

Jota changed the game. Hatate and Scales benifited with his introduction.

So what have we learned
Don’t make 7 changes
Both penalty calls right in my mind from a ref that wasn’t very good in other ways. It’s about extending your natural body shape when the ball hits you for me.
When I saw number 6 step up to take it, I assumed it was my eyesight! Hopefully that strategy is now filed under “naw”.
Good win on the score line but we can’t keep saying it – need to get our mojo back.
Mission accomplished, in do far as we’re in the next round, winning comfortably (in the end) and managed to rest a few players.
Even the subs got a rest before their introduction.
Ange will not be content with the performance though. Much room to improve, we have.

My impression is that ange ball only works if every player is firing on all cylinders. If two or three are off their game it just falls apart.
Glad that game is out of the way.
Those who were expressing concern about the forward line pre match were 2/3 right.
Mikey has serious work to do if he wants a celtic career.
Forest has had his celtic career. I hope it isn’t behind him entirely but his game is off at present.
Job done. Lessons learned. Next game please.
