Scales scored a great goal but his passing is slipshod. His game needs work and I don’t think he’s a first choice yet. He can and hopefully will get better.
As for Ralston, he’s an honest and industrious player, but I don’t see him improving much. Is he Celtic class?
James and Mikey?????
Regarding Jota, FFS sign him NOW!

Before KO I hoped for Gia goal(s) and a Julien cameo.
Almost mission accomplished.
Julien will give us the aerial impact we’ve need at both sides of the park all season – no prejudice to our existing CBs but he can almost be viewed as a special teams player in games where we need to capitalize on multiple corners or defend cross balls while keeping a narrow lead.
“We weren’t great in the first half. We didn’t work hard enough, we didn’t play at a tempo, took too many touches of the ball. The second half was better.
“We made seven changes to the team, so you know it’s not going to be as fluent or as cohesive. It’s not about singling out individuals.
“We have an intent and ambition to be a certain kind of team. Training is intense, so game day we are intense no matter who starts and I think the urgency wasn’t quite there.”

I was pulling your leg, mate. And I agree with you.
It’s all about perception. During a game, if a poster states, “ We’re nowhere near as good as I want us to be”, or, in the alternative, “We’re nowhere near as good as we should be,” he may be viewed as negative, or God forbid, an imposter.😊

Mikey Johnson injuries will put him out of the game ,same James Forrest,in my opinion they will be used as substitute players if they are injury free, felt a bit sorry for Mikey his tears says it all ,and Big Julien getting a bit of game time will do the whole team good.,Tony Ralston seems to be taking a step back, probably him not being played regularly at right back,Scales is he a left back which I don’t think he is,so what is his best position.

4-0, goal for GG, another one for Maeda, Julien getting a run out and in the draw for the next round.
Not a vintage game or performance but matters not. On we march.

hard for any-ball/style/philosophy to click when there are more than 2-3 changes players not at it – never mind a team with 7 changes.

True.
Angeball depends on players having an almost intuitive understanding of how their team mates play so it needs a settled team to work properly.
“It was good to get Christopher Jullien some game time,” Postecoglou adds. “He’s been working really hard. Hopefully the 20 minutes of so today will give him encouragement to go back and keep working hard.”

Without playing at our best, with a lot of misplaced passes. dodgy offside calls, and advantages called back, against a well organised Raith, we somehow contrived to ……..
score 4 goals, had another look at fringe players and returns from injury, when it cllicked it was good, gIO GOAL IN PARTICULAR, 5 TOUCHES FROM BACK TO FRONT AND BALL IN THE NET.
so i enjoyed it, and by the way the 20,000 or so that were there should be placed at the front of the queue for cup final tickets should we get there, they really supported the team.
shall i read back to see the in game torn faces or leave it for tonight …….

Changing gears, it’s Super Bowl Sunday here.
Rams v Bengals – one of my kids goes to LSU, so I guess I’ll support Bengals because of Joe Burrow. (LSU quarterback during their championship winning season in 2019).
Plus Bengals are the underdogs 🇵🇸 🇮🇪 🏴 and we Celts love a good underdog.
Any other thoughts on the game from those who follow the sport?

Totally agree, the supporters who attended the game today should have first call on any Cup final tickets. ( On the assumption we get there of course )
Always been a stay in the moment kinda guy but I cannot stop thinking that the success Ange and that team has brought and will bring will attract big suitors. Main concern is Newcastle, because that guy will not be successful and with the money at hand I think they’d go after Ange and a few others. Hope I’m totally wrong, BUT

Just as well Raith never brought on Godwillie😀
My friends in Celtic,
Watched the game on a buffering stream.
Great result..
Thoughts : Liam Scales will feature more and more.
A big welcome back to Christopher Jullien.
All good, however I do think entertainment for the attendees must be paramount.
HH to all, the journey continues.
4-0 not to be sniffed at!
No GB = a library atmosphere what a shame, is it only Celtic’s choir that gets chucked oot because of flares?
Mikey needs loaned oot.
Guid stuff hic!
A very good day all round.
Celtic are in the hat for the next round…
and I managed to WIN £216 for just a £1.60 stake on the Horse racing in Ireland Today at Punchestown.
Bad News….
Wee Jamesy Forrest looked to be right out of sorts today, he was almost invisible, and really looked lacking in confidence.
HH.
Job done.
Genuinely indicative of our process under Ange …
An untidy, patchy performance results in a 4-0 victory.
A few not quite at it today.

Nice to have options, rotate Ange, rotate.
West Ham equalise with a ball that hits the scorer’s arm lower than CCV’s did

dont recall too many games/performances over the years when we made so many changes
maybe the youngsters v dundee utd with kd in charge !
And another thing.
Dawson’s 91st goal for the Hammers is ten Times more a “hand” ball than CCV.
Goal given even after VAR.
Spanish commentators as shocked as me when they say “Gol” after VAR check.
Mike dropped for me.
park the bus
not many folk who want to play like walter either

Nothing negative about Ange’s statement.
He said he was pleased with where we had got to in such a short time but it is nowhere near where he wants us to reach.
That is doubly positive
