  1. Turkeybhoy, I’m on here many years now it may only have been 2 or 3 out of 100,000 but the guy is actually capable of making intelligent and very articulate Posts, he could be a valued Poster if he was so inclined.

However for whatever reason he prefers this trolling clownish style of Posting.

    The TFOD2.1 hangover continues.

The pitch was looking a bit cut up so that didn’t help either.

However as new players come it can be seen that quite a few players will be heading out.

JF looks a completely broken player — confidence and appetite look shot.MJ is now a shadow of the player he could have been — not sure what has happened but he is physically / emotionally / tactically wrecked.

AR is on the way down at an alarming rate of knots.

SW needs real games — he is unique in that he is not the player he was last season.

CJ looked a bit undercooked — shadow of his former self.

CCV was a bit off the pace.

JH needs help to command his 6 yard box.

NB needs to improve his mental stamina — the penalty kick was a shocker.

RH / TR — both trying to hard.

Consequently a poor performance no matter how many goals we scored.

Finally another cheapshot from the opposition — this time it was a stamp on DM.

This is now well beyond pure chance and bad luck — somebody has put a target on our backs.

Lots of work required before Thursday night.

What is your phone number – Big Ange needs you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Senator, I served with great posters, I knew a great poster. a great poster was a friend of mine, Senator, you’re no great poster.”

The genuinely funny, bright, passionate Tims who made This Dear Green Place what it is would be appalled at such an abomination.

  4. Good to see Gio on the scoresheet today – sorry to see Mickey going of inured – hope he can make a full recovery but don’t think his future is with us.

Burnley 78 gets the first 3 point of the night!!

  6. Scales, Welsh, Bitton, Ralston, GG – squad players for me but very reliable and they did their jobs today.

Forrest is done at Celtic and MJ never did it in the first place. Time up for both. When you can’t be relied on to do a job against Raith Rovers at Celtic Park there is no way back.

  7. Corkcelt

To be fair you only need to read park the bus posts once – same stuff regurgitated

    Galloway, £49, stupid Tim’s, etc

If he / she wanted to be taken seriously they’d drop the multi-moniker stuff

  8. An dun

It probably didn’t help any player when 7 changes are made – usually players play better with better players – making a couple of changes would have been more beneficial.

  9. It will be a crying shame if recurrent injury robs Mikey Johnston of his chance to make it.

James has been defying his Celtic critics for 12 years now. He is only 30 and far from finished.

We can no longer win leagues with a squad of 14 to 16. We will need more than one competent sub for each position with the run of games we have and with the injuries that our intense play and ref-sanctioned robust play bring.

We can let Ange work out who he can do without in future once he has better to replace them with. Ange has not uttered one critical word about either player will be keen not to lose or discount anyone until the season is over.

As far as the Celtic team needs go, reliable cover for the stalwart CCV and the need-to-be-rotated and kept fresh Starfelt is more glaring. Jullien is inching his way back to match readiness and Welsh was just so-so today.

  10. I really hope Mikey Johnstone succeeds. Ralston is a good example of someone who has buckled down and worked hard under Ange. Mikey has bags of talent and tricks but seeing Jota strut his stuff will hopefully teach him to make better decisions in his end product.

  11. AD @ 9.16

I think you are being a bit sore on MJ.

To my mind he is a huge talent who has been let down by the club.

If we cannot get a talent like MJ over the line then the issue is more to do with us and our coaching / development capabilities that it is to do with him.

I would start with the coaching regime surrounding NL — he has a charge sheet as long as your arm for not developing / engaging with young players in the squad. At best he was very hot and cold — faces that fitted and faces that didn’t. At worst he was an aloof shouter — a bit of a bully and a bit of a ranter.

Currently MJ has no confidence / little onfield intelligence / very poor at decision making — pressure or no pressure does not seem to make any difference to the outcome.

He had a very poor game today but I think the club should help him to build up his confidence and his conditioning to make the most of the talent he most certainly has.

If we throw him onto the scrapheap with a bargain basement / fire and forget loan then we are putting down a terrible marker for the future and the players that will come after him.

We surely are better than that.

KD and BD will need better support than MJ was given.

  12. SFTB @ 9.27

When it comes to the performances on display vs RR — JF was as big / possibly even bigger failure than MJ today.

Both look shot — no confidence / over thinking and delaying / troubled by past injuries.

Horrible to watch at times today and both needing a lot of small group coaching to rebuild their games.

They need our help — funny that both were let down by the clown car coaching of NL and his gang of Klingons.

  13. Madmitch

Ange has tended to pick Jamesie when available but, in the cases of JF and MJ, we are failing to account for injury hindered performance and match readiness. James stats for influencing matches are quite good but this gets forgotten in a post injury spell.

JF broke down in September 2020, after becoming the 9th player in the last half century to score in 12 consecutive top flight Scottish seasons. He did not return until March 2021 when John Kennedy was boss and scored two goals for us in that low key un-in, including breaking the deadlock in the. 4th round SC game vs Falkirk. He was missing injured when we lost the league and was missing injured when we got knocked out of the SC by the Huns in April.

This season. he was Covid isolated in pre-season and returned to score in both Europa ties v Jablonec before getting injured in the first tie v Alkmar and did not return till late October. He scored the only goal of the LC semi-final in November but missed the final through injury.

The bhoy hasn’t been fit enough long enough to be in bad form but I’ve long learned that all Jamesie’s good work will get buried with him if he has one bad game. Two bad games in a row means he is finished in the eyes of many. I hope he still has the appetite to prove the many wrong again but, for a faithful servant in a time of many triumphs, he does not attract much supporter love.

  15. Jamesie has been a Tremendous player for Celtic.

He may play a good few games this Season, it looks to me as this is his Last Season @ the Hoops, well as an effective player.

Liel & Jota have an incredible appetite to go back and defend….doing the Work that is ESSENTIAL for us to achieve what we want to achieve.

    We have an Amazing Manager.

It’s not All about just Running back and defending…… there was a moment when Hatate ran an impossible run back…. if he hadn’t, he would have been free with a Good Pass to then setup a Celtic goal.

    Loads to work on.

    Exciting Times!!!!

  16. Jamesy did very well under Lenny. And under BR.Some guff getting spouted by the usual subjects.

MJ has had plenty of chances to shine. He trains with the first team every day.Blaming Lenny for his failure is a nonsense.BR could get nothing out of him.So far Ange has got nothing out of him.He never improves.Great feet.Shocking decision making. You need both.

  17. Happy with win today albeit that the preformance was not great. Good to see ange telling the players they need to keep the bar high 👏 despite the win.

Good to see jullien back on the pitch.

Taylor and JJ are are our first choice fullbacks and are better at the inverted fullback role than ralston and Scales.

    Starfelt is better than welsh

Hatata is less effective when Scales is on the pitch cause passing into him is too slow.

GG works very hard and deserved his goal, gets himself into good positions in the box.

Abada is far more direct than forrest is. Forrest cut into the pitch way too often, needs to look at getting down the line and attacking the goals. Aggressive attacking rather than timid passive back and sideway passing.

Micky johnston has had a hell of the lot of chances to make himself a celtic first team player. He may or may not make it here, but it won’t be the cause of lack of opportunity afforded to him. He is clearly very talented but his decision making is so poor its actually unreal. The amount of times he goes down blind allys in a game is crazy insane. It’s matched only by his poor final ball, He needs told to move the ball on asap, do it quicker and keep decisions simple. Mcgready had same issues until GS took over.

  18. The problem today were the guys who came in .MJ,Jamesy were poor. That’s your two wide players gone.Ralston’s passing was very poor.Welsh,OK,nothing more,Scales, good first half.

The difference when Jota came on should shame our two wide men.Not just skill.Effort, looking up,great passing.

Will see the real team on Thursday. If they can’t improve to become a part of it,they will have no future with us.Ange does not do mediocrity.

  19. Just watched the highlights.

Highlights that dinnae show the unbelievable offside calls frae Incredible passes.

That Rancid Linesman was cheating pure and simple.

Well Done Celtic – It should have been about 7 or 8 if our exquisite passes wurnae stopped by that cheat.

  20. SETTING FREE THE BEARS

“We can let Ange work out who he can do without in future once he has better to replace them with. Ange has not uttered one critical word about either player [JF and MJ] will be keen not to lose or discount anyone until the season is over.”

I’m not sure the fact that Ange hasn’t uttered a critical word about JF and MJ is an indicator of how highly he values them. He never criticizes players in public, but I think we’ll find that anyone who doesn’t do it for him will be jettisoned when better is available. It’s noteworthy he never criticised Griff, even gave him a new contract, but pushed him out when he had better options. I think the same will happen to JF unless he really ups his game. It will probably happen to MJ at the end of the season. I’m beginning to form the opinion that he’ll never be able to reach his potential at Celtic, it’s just too demanding on him. I don’t think he is a learner – it doesn’t matter who is in charge – he needs, like Aiden McGeady to find a team that allows him to play his natural game, whatever its limitations and that will be another SPFL team or a Championship team down south.

  21. lets all do the huddle on

wtf is that utter shite of a half time show (sponsored by pepsi) at the superbowl all about

why not put that pish on after the sport like they do at the horse racing?

  22. My dad says that we should employ Japanese training tactics , as that seems to work, instead of trying to breed young bigots to shoot all the time.

My dad says pewer wee souls like JF ruin their careers by staying at Celtic waiting for that hun glory moment.

My dad says a lot of good stuff.

  23. ERNIE LYNCH

“Angeball depends on players having an almost intuitive understanding of how their team mates play so it needs a settled team to work properly.”.

Not so Ernie, I take Ange’s word for it – we need a big squad whose members know what to do when they have time on the field, that will never change. The same team can’t play the desired intensity three games a week that’s for certain. But the point is you need real interchangeability and that’s what Ange is aiming for. He knows we are far from it but he’ll keep working on it. How we played against RR last night shows how far we are from the goal as Ange freely admits. Currently when we replace 3 or 4 players and standards drop precipitously because individual players just couldn’t do the job those they replaced could do. Very obvious out wide. Maybe Ange will never gather together the “perfect” squad, but it won’t stop him from trying.

  24. ILJASB

“I’m not sure the fact that Ange hasn’t uttered a critical word about JF and MJ is an indicator of how highly he values them.”

    ————————

No- I think his willingness to pick them is more indicative.

Ange has picked MJ 18 times this season ( 12 in the league, 2 in the lC and 4 times in Europe)

He has piscked JF 22 times so far, (14 in the legue, 2 in the LC, and 6 times in Europe)

That suggests he has an estimation of the players above that of the general support.

I don’t believe that Ange does scapegoating,; he berated the whole team for the first half performance, even Scales who was half decent.
