  1. Was not expecting so many negative vibes on here about today.

Yes we lost our way for a spell in that second half but generally the performance was very good i thought.

No problems with Lennon tactics and team line up for me.

As has often happened even under the previous managers reign when you dont put an inferior team away when you are completely dominant then the game is always likely to change in the weaker teams favour at some point in the second half.

I am pretty sure when they scored at around 60 mins or so it was their first attempt on goal [not just on target].

Of course the eebe jeebies can set in after that.

All in all I thought we played well and totally deserved the 3pts.

  2. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Since the break we’ve gone 10-1-0 (31 points from 33) in the league and reached the semi finals of the cup.

During the same period, today’s opponents have gone 5-3-2 (18 points from 30) and have been eliminated from the cup.

    Oh, and ………

they also owe Close brothers and Mike Ashley a fair chunk of money

Their best player today isn’t theirs.

They actually think they’ll get an eight figure sum for a guy who has not scored against anyone of note and has been sent off five times this season (should’ve been EIGHT times).

No wonder they and theirs are angry.

  3. The first half was very good, we dominated and played with intensity that should have resulted in more than one goal by halftime. The second half was an abomination, we started off by playing too casually with the ball, passing backwards and not working hard enough. This set the tone. Guys like Boyata are not and never will be good enough to take too many touches on the ball and fanny about. 28 year old international players should not have to learn such lessons. In fairness we have a handful of players who are not fully fit, Ntcham, KT, Rogic, Boyata and McGregor are at the top of that list.

In the end we won and the League is over.

  4. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

More relief than joy, sums up the season, big Kris the rock on which

our defence is built over the coming year’s.

  5. Alasdair MacLean on

Would love to see clips of Kent’s punch and Halliday’s sending off.

Dying for this since that game in December when Halliday tried the wind up on Broonie.

  6. glendalystonsils on

A 75% fit KT and DB , and a match fit Ntcham and Rogic would have seen us skoosh that today.

Wear and tear on our players brought us nearer their level in the second half.

  7. An important victory! Done deal. Kris Ajer was fantasTIC today; a real player who gets it!

Substitutions a bit questionable. Sinky did not bring a lot to the table today.

Eddy ….. Top Mhan. Broonie loves this stuff ;)

The horribles completely lost it…..lovely. Could end up with 3 reds. Well deserved :))))))

    Great result.

  8. Beautiful Sunday 60,000 Tims basking in glorious sunshine some still sweltering in winter jumpers, saw Celtic win the league in Paradise.

A game of two halfs saw plucky Sevco adapt quicker than Celtic to their ten men unit, accustomed to it, as they are, they went into a new shell and threatened in the second half against NFL’s fitness and injury decimated side, who showed class in the end to take all three points, with the tidiest of finishes from mercurial man, James Forrest.

The atmosphere changed after Odsonne Edouard had given us a hugely deserved lead, as Celtic battered Sevco with corner after corner and Jonny Hayes’s tough shift couldn’t improve on this particular Celtic achilles heel, of making at least one of them count.

The support were subdued at the start of the second half as Sevco started the brighter and thoughts of just a ten point lead at full time weren’t so bad, but we had still the fittest man on the park and Odsonne Edouard relentlessly played a true centre forward’s game holding the ball up for

team mates, in a price tag another proven performance. James Forrest bided his time, took one touch and left the thoroughly unpleasant McGregor welded to the spot, aS the ball bulged the net less than twenty yards directly in front of the mayhem around us.

It didn’t take long for NFL to decide like most, had already that Mikael Lustig is better than Jeremy Toljan, or that Celtic without Keiran Tierney is like tea, without milk but fitness problems will take us to the wire for the treble? Olivier Ntcham played well in the first half, but wasn’t match fit neither was Tom Rogic who played well, and could have sealed the game with an inch of luck. Overall NFL made it his squad by doing this his way.

Odsonne Edouard is what £9M buys you, something that Celtic’s competitors cannot have, the resource to buy players that make the difference of averages, he won three points at Tynecastle three points in Dundee, and three points at Celtic Park with a goal and an assist, that other centre forwards will never reach, all despite his moonlighted mentor.

The internet has captured the bad losers Bobby Madden, couldn’t keep up with, and Celtic march on into the high spirited springtime sunset, after much meriment.

    Excellent.

  10. Apparently they should take the money and run with Alfredo. Maybe i live in a parallel universe but do they not realise he is worth nothing.

Edourd will overtake him in these coming weeks and become the leagues top scorer,

they better not give the muppet player of the year,

  12. Afternoon all.

Relieved, delighted and worried and that’s about 2 hours after the game finished.

Anyone know how bad the injuries to Kieran Tierney and Dedrijk Boyatta are? I can’t see the manager risking Simunovic on plastic and Benkovic can’t be match fit. I hope John Hayes is given the left back slot.

Looking forward to seeing how BBC Sportscene edit things. Hopefully Michael Stewart is on hand to tell it as it is.

    Spot on.

My admiration for Broony which to be honest took a while to manifest but continues to grow and grow in respect for one of the best captain’s we’ve ever had imo.

Ps no matter what’s achieved he always be second to McNeill but I don’t think he would mind being second on that occasion.

Scott Brown in the face of any adversity never takes a backward step.

    LEGEND!

  15. Hugely important result.

We appeared a little star struck to be playing against 10 men. They have some good loan players.

    The better team won.

Cracks beginning to appear across the sevco badge.

This is their high water mark.

    We were averagely good.

    We are better.

  16. Rogic for Ntcham was a crazy decision considering we could choose from Burke amd Weah and Rogic was clearly no where near fit

Injuries made it a lot more difficult than it should have been

Still absolutely buzzin and anyone that isn’t really needs to find something else to do with their lives other than watching Celtic

    Life is too short

    B-)

  17. MOM was Ajer imo.

Looked to break the lines and build the play when we were on top in the first half and stood resolute in defiance when the huns came us in the latter stage of the second half when he made a number of crucial clearances.

    Broony’s natural successor?

  18. Lurking Huns & fellow unhappy Celtic fans …..

    Get it right up you

    Broony = Celtic legend

Senile Celts will be quiet tonight :-)
