  1. Hot Smoked – you could be right, I was thinking NL likes to get lots of crosses into the box so a big physical presence would be an asset. Bayo might be that too, but not getting much chance to show it.

  2. VP 5.58pm

VAR could embarrass the refs into making the correct decision

Sky/BT would “have” to abide by the correct decision

Even the Huns watching the VAR have to try and make the correct decision in fact … maybe when they don’t it will highlight the cheating even more

    Glass ALWAYS half full :-)

  3. ** CELTIC v ROSS COUNTY **

Remember, you still have another 3½ hours to vote for your top 3 performers from yesterday. very tight at the top with only 2 votes separating 1st and 2nd place. Your vote could be crucial!

A short email with 3 names by 10pm please to cqnpoty@gmail.com

You didn’t see “Match of the Day” then?

VAR is only as honest as the hun panel who review it.

    It’s corrupt already!

  5. philbhoy

    Fantastic result for Andy Murray!

If that doesn’t inspire Martin (Morton) Compnerr to get his boot back on I dont know what will

  6. Philbhoy

I had a small investment in Sadio Mane scoring today … Hot Smoked thanks for posting the Sadio Mane stuff the other day, really like him as a player after reading what you posted I like him even more :-)

Back to VAR … Philbhoy the EPL is corrupt .. the SPL only look after one team … for me VAR will not be worse than what we have just now … that’s impossible

  7. glendalystonsils on

My tuppence worth re VAR . The rules are open to’ interpretation’ by refs in Scotland and that ‘interpretation’ seldom favours Celtic . VAR can also be open to interpretation by refs in Scotland and that interpretation will seldom favour Celtic . as we are still dealing with Hugh Dallas’ protege’s doing the reviewing.

As Bankiebhoy is fond of saying . fix Hampden ,fix scottish fitba.

  8. GFTB

    Re VAR.

Who will be deciding on that when it comes here?

Another gang of huns who will get away with……………..whatever suits.

  9. Philbhoy 6.48pm

It will be terrific … because even when they cheat the cheating will be highlighted

    Shine a light 💡

We have won many trophies lately without VAR so I think it will only help .. if but is Huns “reviewing” decisions it can’t be any worse than Huns “making” the wrong decisions

There is always a positive :-)

    VAR – A Hun with a telly

    …………………………

    A hun with the power.

    D. :)

  11. The Huns have no power …

If they did their new team would have at least one trophy in their new existence

    Don’t believe the hype

Away to watch Sportscene not saw one minute of the champions so looking forward to it

Fellow Celts enjoy what is left of your weekend … we still reside in terrific Celtic times :-)

  12. Rock Tree Bhoy on

C’mon Andy! Andy Murray smashed the idea that Scotland only does Glorious Failure when it comes to Sport – well Andy and the Lisbon Lions! Well done Andy – that will confound most of the Tennis Experts who confidently wrote him off.

  13. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

Well done Murray. Were the other top players in the competition?

BIG GEORGES FAN CLUB – HAIL, HAIL, WEE OSCAR on 20TH OCTOBER 2019 7:20 PM

Not sure about the whole tournament but beat Stan Wavrinka (!) Swiss guy in the final and he is a Grand Slam Winner just like Andy so fantastic achievement.

  15. Guys my wee grandson has just asked what’s the most goals we have scored in a game??

    D. :)

  16. lets all do the huddle ? on

    well done andy murray

after the soccer team, the egg chasing team and the wilson pickett team humiliated the country in the last week at least someone is keeping our sporting heads held high

  17. LAST MAN STANDING 13 ROUND 7

Welcome to Round 7, and after spending the last 2 weeks looking at the league table, and thinking about an Elephant up a tree ( you don’t know how it got there, but you know it’s not going to be there for long ) , normal service has been resumed.

Tottenham once again proved to be the weakest link, taking down a number of our contestants, but we roll on to round 7, and the finish line is almost in sight….

Fixtures for next weekend are below, and the “standers” are invited to make their choice from the 10 games, being very careful not to pick a team they have already chosen in a previous round. If you need a reminder who you have picked, just ask.

Entries to cqnpredictor@gmail .com – not to be confused with Jobo’s ongoing POTY mail address 😉 or to the Whatsapp group.

CRC will announce his pick for next week in due course.

    Good Luck

  18. David66 – I’ve been at two nines

Against Airdrie in the 60’s when Frank Haffey missed a penalty!

And European cup V Kokkola in which a young man called Paul Wilson scored what I think was his first big team goal

  19. Goals

Most League goals scored in a season: 116 goals in the 1915-16 season[137]

Most goals scored in all competitions in a season: 196 goals in the 1966-67 season[137]

  20. Jinky -thanks believe it or not I am positive as a very young kid my dad took me to the Kokkala game 😂.

    Cheers

    D. :)

  21. PB – that was the one I was thinking about, I said to him we beat Aberdeen I am sure 9-0.

    HH

    D. :)

  22. I watched the 9-0 Aberdeen game in the Parkville in Blantyre and had £10 on Tony Stokes hat-trick at 25/1… think both Anto & Gary Hooper netted 3 each .. I wonder who got the match ball

  23. Talking of high scoring games, yesterday was 62 years to the day from Hampden In The Sun. A point I made to those around me when we were sitting on 6 goals with bags of time still to play……

Off to watch my recorded Sportscene. Then back to tally up the votes… cqnpoty@gmail.com

My dad took me to that too, first European game, more memories of waiting outside the pub for my dad to finish drinking than the game , wiz only eight but still got the programme😱

  25. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Question – if you wanted to

    a) deflect attention away from the fact that your all conquering superstars did not win

    AND

    b) insinuate racism in others in a week when it is a genuinely hot topic BUT WITHOUT MENTIONING YOU WERE FOUND GUILTY OF RACISM 7 WEEKS AGO

    AND

    c) get cheap publicity for an outrageously over valued asset you are desperate to sell

    AND

    d) deflect attention away from Celtic being top of the league

    BUT

All you have to help you is BBC Sport Scotland

How would you go about it?

  26. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Both teams in that 9 nil game were reduced to ten men in the first half , Paul Hartley and Thomas Rogne were sent off.

It was some game. I was a bit miffed we never got into double figures lol. . We scored 9 against Danny’s Arbroath in the early nineties .
