  1. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Chiefs win it.

Ravens Wide Receiver Zay Flowers will have nightmares about a crazy three minutes.

Taunting took 15 yards off a big catch.

Fumbled ½ yard out diving for end zone but not protecting the ball (they would have had first and goal from 18 inches)

Smacked the bench in frustration, cut his hand and had to come out of the game.

  2. Disappointed with a Celtic performance, thats one thing….

Disappointed with being a Celtic supporter, as some on on here obviously are…

    That’s a whole different scenario……

  3. James Forrest the blogger nails it.

    Dearie me what ?

    Hysterical over reacting to everything

  4. The fans are on the brink.

    Lol.

    Of what.

Staying at home having paid for their books already.

    Booing.

    Leaving early.

The plc couldn’t give a flying trampoline.

  5. Kansas City flew out the blocks with an impressive drive ending with a TD. Never allowed Baltimore to take the lead throughout the game.

Thought Lamar Jackson had a poor game tonight. No doubt he was impacted by the Chiefs defence covering his options; but he made too many dodgy decisions/throws/hanging onto ball too long, etc imo.

Eg – Jackson’s pass attempt in the end zone, when his intended target had 3 defenders in tight coverage, was crucially the wrong decision. A crazy, self-inflicted, error.

Ravens regained great momentum with Flowers great catch in the red zone…then he inexplicably killed that same momentum with the idiotic taunting penalty. Another crazy, self-inflicted, error.

Then the Ravens get to the edge of the end zone and Flowers loses the ball. Yet another crazy, self-inflicted, error…and the final moment that effectively ended the Ravens chances.

The Ravens/Jackson just didn’t perform on the day and deservedly lost.

Credit to the Chiefs. They got themselves two scores in front, then managed the game thereafter, though Ravens under-performing made it easier than they probably expected.

Work in the morning, so will miss the NFC Championship game as bed beckons.

  6. Ps – I stopped reading James Forrest’s blog years ago. For every 1 article that I found worth reading, I realised he was posting 19 more that made me wonder why I bothered to continue to read his blog.

    So I stopped.

  7. The only thing I got from JFs blog was that he thought had outperformed a room full bullshitters at an interview for a bullshitting job run by bullshitters, only to turn up on hist first day to realise it was all bullshit.

The rest of the blog may or may not have been bullshit.

Backing the board/uk establishment v the GB certainly was.

    An Tearmann @ 12.28.

That’s interesting. I didn’t know the Dunn girls were from the Dunn & Moore family. A good number of years ago whilst in London I was introduced to a Sr Cecily Dunn, a nun from, I think, the Salesian order who did great work with the disadvantaged and deprived in the London area. Originally from Glasgow, she also emanated from that same family so she’d probably be an aunt of the girls you mention.

I think Maxine was a model circa early 80’s. Charlene may have been as well.

More generally I have enjoyed the memories of Shawlands. My first flat (1989-1997) was on the main Kilmarnock Road. Great place to stay back then. Can’t believe I left there 27 years ago…….how time gallops !

    =======================

    Hi Mazzy

I seem to recall it being general chat in the mid 80s,more so among there ex school friends I knew from the club scene in Glasgow.jeez to think thats nearly 40 yr ago.

Shawlands is still a goto place for

1st time buyers, its gotten yuppified and the subsidence on a lot of tenement has stopped as work was done to stop it- cement poured into founds.when mates where buyin there and viewing all you had to do was look at top of window frame and cgeck it was parallel to ceiling, most werent due to subsidence.:-)

I hope it comes good again, shawlands,at times in 80s it was a par to west end with range of pubs and eateries. As you say how time flies :-)) hope yir good

    Come on James,must do better.

Who or what are you dissenting now?

Yup i know you put a lot of your own time into your own blog,it your blog.

Sometime less is better as with the rate of output you are in danger, unintentionally i guess of becoming, the very media you set up to question and dissent and folk get bored with that as they do rekord,s(h)un,clyde,McGoon etc.

    I wish you well

  12. Good balanced article by James Forrest and sums up how serious the situation created by the Lawwell mafia.

Hopefully DD kicks all the Lawwells out of the club.

  13. It was not a balanced article.

    It was just hysterical nonsense.

The owners couldn’t give a rats arse about these things.

    An T

sadly, they blew up the block of flats I grew up in :) and they knocked down the tenement I watched the Lisbon game in aged 9 months – well my auld man told me that i watched it !!! and the south side has many good memories for me – mainly walking back into town after a Hampden win :)

  15. I’ll indulge you lot for five minutes, so here goes.

First, I’m presuming that you guys have read the latest blog, not the one before it. The point of the story at the start is that people occasionally accept jobs and then find out that they’re not what they signed up for. I thought that was obvious, but I guess not everyone can raise their IQ level to the obvious.

People are wondering WHY Rodgers came back to face the same set of problems he had before. And I’m simply suggesting that maybe he was swayed by the appearance of stability and calm and a structure only to find out when he arrived that there wasn’t a structure.

Now, I know Lawwell has his fan club on this site, and that’s fine, but what I find pathetic is the idea that criticising Lawwell and asking hard questions of the board is heresy. It’s not.

You think you love this club more than me? I give this club every minute of every day. And I don’t think that makes me better than you, but what it does me is it makes me intolerant of anybody who poitns their fingers and me and other Celtic fans and tells us to sit down and shut up.

You don’t love Celtic more than me. Your disrespect for the opinions of those of us who don’t see it through rose coloured specs is pathetic and shows you up. I do this for a living. That doesn’t make me special, but I damned if I’m going to let you mouth off with impunity. You make it personal. If you had to engage with the point you wouldn’t have a clue.

View me with as much contempt as you like, but don’t think for a minute you care more about this club than me, cause that’s the one accusation I won’t tolerate.

  16. That’s me told.

He loves the Celtic more than you.

    Cos he writes blogs.

    You low IQ eejits.

    Dearie me.

  17. With your simple minded logic.

    A bitch.

    A pathetic bastard.

He won the argument right there.

I should read his Celticblog more.

Feck knows why they offered you a job.

  18. One last thing, and it will be the last thing, because I’ve said my piece, the floor is yours and I have no doubt you’ll continue behaving like a brat when I’ve gone.

The low IQ that was just for you. That wasn’t even for SPIKEYSAULDMAN who at least understood PART of the story. You … hmm. .. not so much.

  19. spikeysauldman on

JF – no matter how good/bad/on the money/wide of the mark your opinions are on your blog, you’re not really selling yourself when you come away with ‘I thought that was obvious, but I guess not everyone can raise their IQ level to the obvious.”

  20. SAINT STIVS:

    Hahahahaha.

But you see, I wasn’t here to “win the argument.”

I know who’s worth arguing with and who isn’t. To properly debate something, to argue the pros and cons and the merits of something there need to be two things; open minded people on both sides of the table and mutual respect and you don’t offer either of those things.

You’ve made your mind up. You have no respect for anyone’s opinion which clashes with your own.

So there’s no “argument” to be had here. You started out behaving like a yahoo and I’ve treated you exactly as you deserve. I’m not interested in changing your mind, there’s no changing your mind. So forget the “argument”, there’s isn’t one to be had.

Stop pretending you are willing to rise to the level fo a serious discussion, you’re not.

  21. James the cliquesratti are down the Greenock club on the 9th February. For the Tommy burns supper.

I can pay for a seat if you want to join us.

I can get greenlion to give you a half hour to lecture all the idiots in the room.

Rather than hiding on the Internet.

  22. spikeysauldman on

and btw, your passion for the club is plain to see…regardless of whether I agree/disagree with your viewpoints…
