It is indeed very surreal the position we find ourselves in but it’s what makes us supporters. Victory at any cost is not in our ethos and its cost us emotionally and financially but this is my club, my team…… It gave us characters like Bertie, leaders like Billy and Jock. Principled men who had fun and knew what it was to don the jersey. They loved playing for each other, for the team and its lifeblood in the stands. Wee had Jinky who brightened up the darkest days. The list goes on.
As the old song goes. And where are you know when we need you.

Have spent a bus journey home reading a lot of the post match debate and can’t resist sticking my tuppenceworth into the chicken or egg section.
1st visit to Paradise since the turn of the year and picked a surreal day to do it…….The Hoops on the verge of 5 in a row, yet pre match and for a while after the match started…..it felt more like i was actually in a train station than a football stadium.
When our ‘team/chicken’ broke from the huddle(should it be retired until there’s an actual ‘team’ doing it?) and came towards the ‘support/egg’ and gave us a wee plastic applause my alarm bells were ringing and those same players then went on to serve up a pretty damn pitiful performance.
Ive stuck up for them a few times after poor displays that they still got the points and questioned whether grinding out a result was something that this team are not allowed to do.
The fans were very muted and even the GB who generally provide 90 minutes worth of noise downed tools such was(imo)their disappointment in those players and our boards efforts.
The thing is……i reckon those players could quite easily have brought a lot of the support round today by even just doing some basic things like busting a gut…..winning a 50-50…….harrying and harassing until an error was forced or showing some urgency and real desire to win……imagine that eh?
Professional footballers doing whatever they can to win?
I bet about every one of us would do that even at our ages and level at a wee game of 5 a sides.
I reckon if they had shown that the atmosphere would have changed completely and there wouldn’t be a chicken or egg debate regarding whether the fans need to inspire the players, or whether those players need to inspire the fans and as much as we can……..i felt that today was a day for the players to show they are hurting as much as we are.
That level of desire was bereft in too many once again today…..but then……maybe they felt the wee applause was enough?
That is worrying.

Excavation of the ancient mosaic, which dates back to 3rd century BC.
Archaeologists in Turkey have received wizened advice from beyond the grave after uncovering a unique 2,400 year-old ancient Greek mosaic.
The floor tiles, excavated in Hatay province on the Turkish-Syrian border, show a skeleton lying down with a wine pitcher and loaf of bread alongside Ancient Greek text that reads: “Be cheerful, the Huns are deid”.

Described as the “reckless skeleton”, the mosaic is once thought to have belonged in the dining room of an upper class home.
According to archaeologist Demet Kara from the Hatay Archeology Museum, who were involved with the excavation, the mosaic is an artefact from the ancient Greek-Roman city of Antioch.
