Can you tell me which game exactly will be Ronny’s actual disaster, or do you just hope it will be the next game?

Are you just a frustrated fanny or do you know anything about Celtic or those who follow her?

    Seriously.

You come across on this blog as one angry frustrated bloke.

I wouldn’t like to be your underpants.

  2. Well, we’re clearly not going to win the Europa League this season. The teams parachuting in from the Champions League are going to be beyond us.

BUT it is nice to have European football to look forward to after Christmas and keeps the season ticking along. I thought we recovered well after a disastrous start when we could easily have collapsed. The final score was harsh and we were probably good value for a draw. We have ridden our luck a few times in this competition and relied on Gordon so seeing Griff’s header saved shouldn’t be too much of a surprise.

Have we progressed since Legia and Maribor? I say yes. I reckon the same game back then would have finished 5-1 to RBS. We showed good character tonight.

Broonie has become the beating heart of our team.

  3. What is the Stars on

That was an enjoyable game of football.

First 20 minutes we were very poor but after that played with great heart and no little skill, unlucky not to get something from the game

However against better teams we will be cruelly exposed (as will Salzburg)

  4. VanDijk needs to up his game.

As I’ve said before , it’ll be Portsmouth and not Arsenal he ends up at, if he keeps putting in lacklustre performances

  7. Kris Commons has been over the past few years our best player by a country mile. He is keen to stay and when we accommodated him in the team last season we were rewarded with a 30 goal return. Kris is an intelligent footballer whereas some in our team seem to me to lack match intelligence.

Gut feeling is we will lose Kris in January so tonight could possibly be his last European match.

    Hope he stays.

After 10 mins we were in for a humpin, thankfully we sorted it, if the truth be told we were not looking good at that time.

Fair play to the players, and the coaches.

We didn’t deserve to lose the game overall imo, but as ever, a second lapse in concentration in europe they will punish you, and they did.

And fair play to Chris Sutton for his after match comments.

100% of us would rather be where we were a couple of years ago, beating the best team on the planet, but not to be.

100’s of reasons why we are not.

We have downsized big time, and I for one am happy that we are still competing at a reasonable level, albeit we are not at the top table, but unless someting is done about the cartell, we will always be at this level, or worse.

    Happy enough.

Have we progressed since the early season shambles against Legia and Maribor? Of course, we are winning regularly and playing with confidence, but it’s clear there’s also a lot more work to do. Celtic’s best performance of the season so far was in Salzburg, a more favourable wind would have seen us leave with three points, but that performance also stung Salzburg, who saw their aspirations to win the group take a hit.

It will take our best performance of the season to return a win tonight, but I’m expecting nothing less.

Sir David Murray has stuck to his “duped” story. Craig Whyte’s chosen path for Rangers was a surprise to him. This account is now to be explored in the witness box at the trial of the Ibrox Five. I suspect I could script Murray’s evidence myself, “duped”, “shocked”, “best interests of…”

Of vastly more interest will be Alastair Johnston’s evidence. Johnston and his independent board committee opposed Whyte’s takeover and made representations to Murray, which will also be revealed in the witness box.

News that Craig Whyte was arrested in Mexico and is now likely to be subject to extradition proceedings will be welcomed by few of the characters in this messy business. Whyte, as we know, recorded everything. He will be a difficult man to setup as a patsy.

The only questions is, how do I get court tickets?

    Three points tonight, please, Celtic.

Many thanks to everyone who has supported the CQNBookstore. The 2015 CQN Annual is now available to pre-order for delivery week commencing 8 December, get it while it’s hot!

We played well second half but man for man we seem to be to easily bullied (apart from Skoosh who was outstanding) We need a bit more dig in the Barry Robson mould or any number of non powder puff ex Celts. To many to easily losing man to man battles .

Result worked out in the end but we need to toughen up (not in a hun way)

Got to be in it to win it.

All I know is that Deila is a dud and we are sinking fast. You just have to look at the crowds. As for the Board!!!

Pele’s glorious chest control in mid-air before volleying home, his attempt to lob the keeper from the halfway line, Rivelino’s bullet free kick, still freshly remembered after 44years……yeah, they were rank v the Czechs!

  14. glendalystonsils on

We cannot afford to start games on the back foot like we did tonight. It has happened too often this season. If we had settled in to this game THEN taken control like we did second half, we would have won comfortably.

  15. What I fear most about us in Europe is that, RD disny seen to grasp that ‘we’ are the wee team – due to all the downsizing since MO’N left. We’ve had 2 memorable nights since then.

    Man Utd – Nakamura game

    Barcelona – Tony Watt game.

I said yesterday then, repeated earlier today that, our most realistic approach was to park the bus and use the Magnificent James Forrest as an out ball.

Going into this next round, street wisdom will tell.

    Does RD have it?

    Anyway, bye.

  16. Positives

    – Griffiths good intelligent shift

    – Johansen I think he gets us

    – Tonev first signs..

    Negatives

    – Stokes Lazy in body and mind (again)

    – Charlie doesn’t have the legs for our formation

    – Commons no impact, for the off

Lustig is a big loss for us, Forrest if fit is a game changer. KTF

  23. I’m usually glass half empty and have felt distinctly underwhelmed by Ronny.

In recent weeks I’ve felt increasingly optimistic.

The performance tonight against a very good team deserved better than the result.

Awful start but dominated large portions of the game.

Chris has it right, stop giving away soft goals.

Not sure the evidence supports his faith in Kris and James tonight though…

  25. Captain Beefheart on

Actually Burnley I am not angry. I have generally been supportive of the Celtic board and their strategy, moreover I fully support Ronny.

You are quite right to highlight our Euro mediocrity, however, in my opinion, we should have invested when we had the chance. Celtic have an ability to scout well(.Lustig, Wanyama etc) but recent signings have been poor.

Delighted for SJ and Tonev that they are showing some ability.

  26. Off to my kip.

But before I put my head on my pillow I will ask my God to help those on here who need his help tonight.

At the end of the day, this was a football match tonight.

Not a matter of life or death.
