Yer pissin in tae the wind there…..

Someone actually posted after 15 minutes, this could be our worst home defeat!!!

I’ll no embarrass them by naming names.

Last 32 will do me….gained because we won 2 home games and got 2 away draws….not because Astra won 2nite.

  3. Sheik – Mowbray and Barnes spring immediately to mind.

    1-3 when I said 3-1. Never seen a poor bookie…

    Burnley 78, good evening,

Who on earth cares about huns in Europe?

I care about Celtic. We have earned tens of millions of pounds and haven’t spent it, Ronny can achieve a lot with us if he is given the financial support, uunfortunately that won’t come.

  5. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Someone chucked it in midfield there for the third one and should be shot. Griffiths worked really hard but couldn’t a hit a coo’s a*** with the proverbial. We improved hugely after the first half hour, but we should have been dead and buried by then, which isn’t acceptable. Neither are three home European defeats before Xmas to modest opposition from relatively weak footballing countries. That’s a poor record from Ronny. We’re going through from a very weak group, which is better than going out, but no great achievement. There were some positive signs in the second half, but we’ve fallen a long way from Moscow and Barcelona two years ago. Would be great to go further in this tournament, but we’ll have no chance if it’s Ambrose rather than Denayer at the back. He’s good for at least a goal a game. Guidetti will make a big difference though. Right, I’m away to read about Craig Whyte and Sevco’s annual accounts.

  6. Guidetti will make a difference

Euro football just may be the clincher for him to sign on the dotted line.

  7. Tonev and Forrest were effective subs, but I think Commons had a negative affect on the team. I know he’s been injured but he looks really off pace.

  8. So we lost today, so what. Team showed great spirit in the second half, they were wasting time and the ref was rubbish. We’re still in four competitions and things can only get better. Celtic that’s the team for me.

  9. Celtic are through. Would have taken that at the start of the group with a game to spare. Manager has work to do in january.

We chased it at 2-1 and lost a late goal. Guidetti and Denayer start tonight and that score would have been different. Thought Efe done ok. Bit rusty. Onwards to Tynecastle. Treble is on!

Go to a panto or opera if you want guaranteed entertainment and outcome.

Football is about winning and qualifying. We did the latter tonight and the former in earlier games.

Go watch videos of Brazil 70 if you want to see the beautiful game. Even then they don’t show the rank performances v Romania and Czech etc.

  11. Nae wonder a drink, 9 0 clock a.m and half pashed

Thats what my team does to me.

Well were through lets sees what happens in Jan

transfers we all know what we need.

  12. The mighty fortress Celtic Park, bursting at the seams with 23,000 fans, hold off Red Bull Salzburg, allowing them only 3 goals despite their 20 odd chances.

A cauldron, a fortress and a cacophony of noise and passion deter the Salzburger from scoring 7.

No wonder the Celts, the mighty ‘tic are world famous and feared.

  13. Shambles first half, did well.second and European football after Christmas.

    Proud to be a Tim.

Go on the Celts. Unlucky Griffiths with header. Would have made it 2-2

  14. Philbhoy – yeah, fair play, we played far better than I expected. I said 4-1 tho and it was 3-1.

I see someone criticising Broonie there… He was absolutely outstanding. He misplaced some passes in the last 10 minutes but at that point was almost a sole midfielder. Terrific.

We fought, harried and were the better team for long periods. Red Bull know they had a game

  15. The Blogger……

    Beat it ya fanny!!!!!

    C’MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Ah well. If we leave aside the first 20 minutes that was a pretty decent showing against a decent outfit.

Through to the last 32 now and hopefully we will have Denayer and Guidetti back along with Lustig.

Still a work in progress but at least there is progress.

European football after Christmas……canny be bad!!

One thing I will say about Rony for me the jury is out on wither he is a good manager or not but he certainly is a lucky manager in Europe this season. H.H.

  18. pedrocaravanachio67 on

Right ssshhhh everyone, there’s the ( failed ) ex Lincoln city manager, giving us his pearls of wisdom !!!

  19. This team needs to pick itself up and beat Hearts on the weekend, get down to Zagreb and beat them as well to go out on a high, Salzburg were always going to be a big ask for us, I saw them at Basel last year and they’re a decent outfit and guys like Soriano and Alan grow up playing football not the demented version that passes as football in Scotland…

We need midfielders who can control the ball 9time out of ten not the other way around and tonight again proves we have quite a way to go to rebuild a team under Ronny..

Pedro I’ll no ask ye again splash the cash on a ball playing’ midfielder..

Our second phase play tonight in and around the area, both areas was poor, we’re second to every ball after throws, corners free kicks, that has to change or we will always suffer at the hands of quick breaking teams..

Happy we’re through but a work to be done to get this team into shape for the next round, Big JG will be a major bonus in that respect, he will rise to the occasion I’m sure..

  20. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

After a shaky start, no small partly due to a changed defence, we dug our way into the game and were the better team for most of the game.

It was a game that we ultimately didn’t deserve to lose.

Salzburg are a good team and are what we aspire to be.

Their energy, all over the park, plus their movement was impressive.

For us to reach that level , we need to move on or move over, Slow, Dead Slow and Stop ; I.e. Stokes, Commons and Mulgrew.

Decent enough players at SPL level, but we want better than that, don’t we?

    January should be interesting.

  21. Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire on

    Cirenbhoy,

Aye, surprised the two best players on the park got subbed, but we played £60M aff the park and I’ve seen better Celtic teams lose to worse teams.

  22. Sutton saying Celtic “fantastic” in 2nd half.

Give him a reason to praise us, and he will!

Celtic “superb” in second half, according to Chris now. “deserved something out of this game”.

  23. Burnley78

I don’t always agree with you, as you may remember, but all of your posts tonight have been spot on!

    C’MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that is why he brought on wee James and we needed someone to hold the ball up or score a goal
