Got a feeling our Timbhoy1 might

    Or a bhoy

    And probably Timbhoy2

But Celtic & Cqn should be open to all

  2. Big Big Thanks to everyone in the CQN Family for their good wishes and sympathy re my post at 12.01 today. You make up for the scum in our society, and go a long way to balance out the wrongs we endure here that would not happen or be tolerated anywhere else in the UK, (certain districts in NI excluded). I am so lucky to be a member of a community like ours in the CQN / Celtic Family.. Thank You all.

I am discussing the events that happened to my Nephew with his Mother and want to bring it to Holyrood.. we will see how it evolves. Thank You All, My Wonderful Friends.. God Bless.

“When asked when they were first made aware of the looming RFC admin RM responded,” the day before they filed for administration”. (February 2012). Both Neil Doncaster and Rod McKenzie denied specifically knowing any earlier than this beyond rumours in Scottish Football.”

    Errrr…..:

Craig Whyte claims SPL ‘knew’ Rangers were going bust

    17 October 2012

Craig Whyte has claimed that the SPL knew Rangers were going bust months before the club entered administration.

The former Rangers owner said the club “had no money” after being knocked out of European competition by August 2011.

Whyte said he told SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster and former chairman Ralph Topping in October 2011 that “administration was almost inevitable”.

He described the SPL and SFA’s handling of the affair as a “disaster”. Neither body has commented on the claim.

Speaking exclusively to BBC Scotland’s Chris McLaughlin, Whyte said that the game’s governing bodies were not involved in any way during his negotiations to buy Rangers from Sir David Murray.

    ‘Kept informed’

He said, however, that he “certainly kept them informed” as the club’s finances deteriorated.

“In October (2011), I met Neil Doncaster and Ralph Topping in London, told them administration was almost inevitable,” he said.

“I told them that exit by a CVA (creditors agreement) is unlikely and that we would need a lot of support to get through a really tough situation.”

He added: “They obviously didn’t want to lose Rangers from the SPL and they were supportive. It was a positive meeting.”

Wound’t be surprised if Celtic suggest that Ajax Cape Town get Coetzee’s foot problem fixed over the next 4 months and we will pick him up in January – same deal.

We obviously thought highly enough of him to agree the deal in the first place, pending the medical.

Seems obvious that Simunovic may well head out eventually, and Coetzee would be a good option for 2018. Guy must be feeling gutted at the moment as he was so keen to join us.

Tontine Tim, that might explain why the first club to play out of Ibrox had the Arsenal shares before Craigy sold them.

I live in hope we get another centre back and centre forward, even on loan , in before Thursday.

  16. Hello from sunny Florida where it isn’t sunny. In fact the weather seems to match the disposition of some CQN posters.

    Thunder and monsoon-like rain.

Very much as expected on both fronts.

Eldest was at the game and summarised it as awful first half. Superb second half. Sinclair almost unplayable.

We’ve all been watching long enough to understand that sometimes the scoreline doesn’t always reflect the reality.

We’ve also been watching long enough to know that when something is working fine and very occasionally it goes a little awry, the naysayers are quick to jump on the bandwagon.

It happened with zonal marking, a year without conceding from a corner but as soon as you lose one…

Same goes for yesterday. 53 games undefeated but one goal conceded from a poor clearance from the keeper and they pitchforks are out.

Sure, there are times when clearing your lines is the wise option. Didn’t look like yesterday was one of those. A simple pass back from Ralston, Gordon tries to dink it out to a player, which would have eliminated at least three St J players. I think it was the right option, badly implemented.

    It happens.

So many goals have resulted from this type of play. A fact the I point out most vociferously to the “get it up the park” brigade behind me.

Keep on doing what we’re doing. It works.

  17. When I was a young lhad just out of school I worked with an avid Thistle supporter, in later years I would find out that he was the nephew of the legendary “Firhill Flyer”. He would often remark that he couldnae understand how the two best full backs in Scotland couldnae get in the Celtic team.

Amazingly, around this time the “President” appeared at Hampden in a Scotland 1=0 victory over the “ould enemy” at left back even though he was part of the “Clark, McNeil and Kennedy” half back line for us then and when big Tam was injured Willie O’Neil who could also play left half stepped in at the full back position.

In the Greens v Whites pre-season trial match after the SC Final replay debacle both our full backs were replaced by the youthful pairing of Young and Gemmell, however, Dunky MacKay was reinstated for the League Cup and early League and ECWC games.

The right half position had been causing us some concern although it looked as if big John McNamee had filled in for the departed Paddy quite comfortably.

However, it seems as if he had invoked Bob’s wrath pre-season so we went through a plethora of replacements including moving Dunky forward where he seemed to play well before for some unknown reason settling on Luggy with the President taking over at left half.

Dunky it seems was surplus to requirements and even when injury kept John Clark out of the side he was replaced with a young Jim Brogan, a similar young Sammy Henderson or in a cup game at hades Bobby Murdoch was unsuccessfully tried there.

So what happened with our former captain, capped 14 times for his country and as I said earlier much coveted at one time by Matt Busby, Why is he never mentioned when Celtic greats and not so greats are, when we are over in Oz he seems to be unexplainably missing from any mention of our club over there.

A player who donned the hoops approximately 236 times and who IMHO was the best Celtic full back that I have seen until Daniel Fergus appeared on the scene, a player of the same calibre and style.

A player that in a poll taken after Lisbon for the best Celtic team in living memory walked comfortably intae it.

My first hero Bobby Evans suffered the same fate and there were always rumours which I’m not going to mention. But no one can ever question his commitment tae the hoops or his country. The truth might be his questioning the Board over some financial remuneration that never materialised.

But the question still remains unanswered, what happened tae Dunky MacKay.

I have met a good few Cqners (not just in the pub) I think the Cqn family is more to do with all the great charity work, my Celtic friends & family extract the urine about me being on Cqn yet 99% of the eijits are on Facebook, I think the Cqn “family” is just a daft term that idiots like us might use …. CQN does far more good than any bad
