Anyway…im offski, wasting my time here.

    Supposed Celtic fans….applauding failure.

That’s not the Celtic I love.

You want loan signings….fill yer boots

    ——————

Don’t give up that easy, we all want to hear how we should be run, I’m not disagreeing that things can’t be done butter but I’m hoping you are the man to show us how??

  2. Brilliant Jose is complaining that his board have not spent enough money to make his league champions better

  3. Go tell the Spartim on

Ellbhoy, I’m at a loss with your argument, surely the losses would show on the accounts.

TD67, there’s a certain irony in your post, however there is a pattern of failure that keeps repeating itself year on year, for some that is unacceptable but that’s their choice. Life is about choices you make yours which the suits should be thankful for

  4. GO TELL THE SPARTIM

Without having the accounts at hand, I was using approximate figures. They may not be accurate but they wont be far off.

The argument is to speculate to accumulate with using our assets.

How much though? Assume we have zero net spend at the moment, how much would you spend to make us CL team?

I reckon there’s only one thing missing from this Celtic side…….

………..a big centre-forward who scores goals for fun……

    ………..someone like……..

    Beautiful day,mate.

I feel a certain flush coming on.

    Sun ,that is.

    Here comes Summer.

    P.L.

    Well,pal.Something`s got to change.

    That`s for sure.

You know where I would start.

Not a champions league team but a champions league qualifying team.

This summer we’ve spent £1million net, why not front load 30-50% of VVD future transfer fee?

Well I’m missing something here right, because since the 21st century started we have…

    WON

    10 league Championships

    6 scottish cups

    5 League cups

Went to a uefa cup final

Awarde the best supporters in the world (people at Celtic park in the north east stand will rid us of that one)

Best stadium atmosphere in Europe (arguably)

Best defensive record in the league

And the most goals scored in the league

Nowanother good performance here and there could have made that post really sexy looking,.

But what I will say is, it’s certainly nowhere near failure, but that’s just my opinion.

I was never much of a fan of loan players until Jason came to Celtic.

We (the fans) were privileged to see him perform in the Hoops alongside Virgil.

Think about the players he trained with and played with. The influence.

Jason will be a huge star….

Maybe we have another in Tyler…..

    HH

  12. I read somewhere that we had the option to buy Blackett for £4,000,000 at the end of the loan deal.

    Four million pounds!!

Hands up if you think that will be a goer!!

  13. The Huddle

It’s not the amount we spend is the issue, it’s what we spend it on. Millions wasted on loan fees and players who even by our project policy are never going to make it.

I appreciate that the market we are in is a gamble but those responsible for scouting and sanctioning our signings should be accountable.

For every VVD or Hooper we have a number of highly paid disasters.

  14. Lennon n Mc....Mjallby on

What’s the GB done that’s no been said on here?

This forum is probably the most public forum for Celtic, what’s the difference in a banner at the game?

    Somebody needed to tell them.

    —————

That seems to be the issue, we don’t spend any money (ie the board are hoarding the money) or we are wasting money? I’m in the wasting money camp. No problem with that criticism, we need to spend better.

  16. Morning all.

Ye same old, same old weather-wise down here.

Parkhead yesterday afternoon was a change for the better (the sun shone throughout); when I got back down here, it was raining.

Parkhead yesterday change my mood too. Mind you, maybe it’s an age thing. Celtic have too often disappointed me. So, Tuesday wasn’t a one off by any means.

Now we can look forward to exciting games until Christmas at least.

  17. was looking for the highlight, found this instead,

“That seems to be the issue, we don’t spend any money (ie the board are hoarding the money) or we are wasting money? I’m in the wasting money camp. No problem with that criticism, we need to spend better”

No issues with this either. We need to spend better and at the right time.

Acquiring players now before the window shuts, is too little too late.

  19. Unfortunately, I cannot see any end to the selling of our better players. If a young prospect signs for Celtic and is a stand out success, the EPL will come sniffing, the lure of money and playing “in the greatest league in the World” will be irresistible and the reality of life is you cannot keep an unhappy player who wants to leave.

One possible help to retain them longer would be to initially tie them to longer contracts but that is a risky strategy as well. You may have to kiss a lot of frogs to get a prince and we don’t need a lot of frogs on long contracts.

We cannot complain too much as we do the same thing to the likes of Hibs and Dundee United. As long as we play in the small pond that Scotland is, we just have to accept this as a fact of life and get on with it.

  20. Yesterday I thought Tom Rogic and Saidy Janko were excellent. Izzy was superb as well.

Like the signing of Blackett and would love to see Christie in the hoops in the future. An all Scottish midfield beckons possibly next season for some games when Bitton and Rogic are rested. Once Super Johansen gets his form back we will be very potent this year.

Qualifying games come to early. Malmo half way through their season. Yes we should beat them. Of course we should. Scotland only has a population just more than half of Sweden’s. The Swedish national team are pish as well.

The Europa League is possibly our level until we get into a bigger league that attracts more resources.

  21. Morning Timland from a hot hun free mountain valley.

    Mr. Pastry.

You seem to be hell bent on telling us FACTS.

One fact you tell us that the football management is totally responsible for bring players in.

Maybe you can help me with this then.

Before Ronny came to the club, Craig Gordon was signed, kudos to Pedro for that one imo.

Wakasso and Tonev, RD said in a presser that he didn’t know anything about them, but they had been extensivly scouted, was he telling porkies, and he really did sign them ?

That will do for starters, plenty more I can ask you and any others who are of the same mind set as you.

But, I will wager you won’t answer me, nor will anyone else, cos it blows your theory out of the water.

  22. I heard he was dead on

Celtic linked with Anderlecht defender Fabrice N’Sakala as Ronny Deila suggests the Hoops made a bid for Darren Fletcher; Southampton set to finally land van Dijk and Hearts boss Robbie Neilson slams Willie Collum

    Celtic linked with N’Sakala

CELTIC are still aiming to bolster their defence despite the arrival of Tyler Blackett on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

The Hoops have been linked with Anderlecht defender Fabrice N’Sakala.

The 25-year-old DR Congo international joined the Belgian side in 2013 after a spell at Troyes in France but is finding first-team football limited, and Anderlecht are reportedly open to letting N’Sakala leave this summer. (Walfoot.be)

  23. its a strange thing, but in my formative years i was going to celtic games from the age of 5 or so, so from 1972 ish onwards, and the players that stuck out where mcgrain and lennox, clear memories of them .

lesser so of jinky and dalglish, when i see these videos, i kind of know i was at the games, but cant remember the details.

even stranger i remember pat stanton a lot during the 77 double season.

  24. Go tell the Spartim on

    TD67

I generally meant the failures of so many of our transfers, notably strikers, and hoping we get lucky and fluke it to the group stages then buying players.

The best atmosphere only really occurs on champions league nights, give or take a few.

I think my frustration which keeps me busy between games is we could be so much better
