  1. SENTINEL CELTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2023-24*

*RESULTS FROM GAME #40 CELTIC 3 ST JOHNSTONE 1 (KYOGO, KUHN, FORREST)*

    Good evening, friends.

Another victory yesterday and a good performance as well sees Celtic sitting on top of the league looking down on all others. I sensed a real change in atmosphere yesterday with our fans remaining pretty positive throughout the game. St Johnstone were very poor and the one man they left up front remained in Carter-Vickers’ pocket for the whole of the first half and a good chunk of the second. Cameron really does instil a general feeling of confidence that seems to rub off on his fellow defenders.

Celtic started well, moved the ball quicker and it seemed only a matter of time before the goals came. I’ve no qualms about the 2 disallowed offside goals in the first half but I’m less sure about the non-penalty decision for the hand ball on the goal line. With half time approaching a lovely cross from Kuhn and a well timed run from bsk to form Kyogo saw Celtic go in at the break one up. 40 seconds into the 2nd half and we doubled our lead. A wonderful through ball from ‘seems to play everywhere’ Greg Taylor found Kyogo who returned the earlier favour by firing in a perfect cross for Kuhn to score his first Celtic Park goal.

And when super sub Jamesie (just the 1 vote from Aunty Dena but played very well again) fired home our 3rd the points were secured. We did (of course!) contrive yet again to concede a pretty sloppy goal, despite Joe Hart’s fine save. Were the substitutions to blame?

However, we continued to create further chances with Kyogo crashing one off the bar and Iwata managing to head over when it looked almost certain that he would score. And of course we had one more disallowed goal when VAR decided that Idah’s toe was interfering with play despite Adam playing no part at all in the move that ended with Johnston firing the ball into the net.

Finally, I have to end by saying that one guy’s positioning was atrocious throughout the whole 103 minutes. Step forward Euan Anderson, who seemed to force us to play round him from the first minute till last. At least he got most of the on field decisions correct which was again more than can be said for the VAR.

We have now played 40 competitive games. We have managed 27 wins, 5 draws and 8 defeats, scoring 87 goals and conceding 40. We have 8 league games left whilst our nearest challenger, a point behind, have 9 to play. Both sides have the same goal difference although we have scored 7 more. 7 wins and 1 draw would be enough to secure our 54th league title.

Excellent post. Very insightful and positive.

  4. 2001: Henrik Larsson hits a hat-trick as Celtic defeat Kilmarnock 3-0 to lift the League Cup.

  5. Crawford Allan quitting eh, cheating Cu*t.

    Freemasons run Scottish football.

Sevco are strapped for cash so they need the 50 million, give them dodgy decisions this year and no pens against.

Nice handshake with a nice wee earner for him, favours and job complete & he walks off into the sunset like his brother Hugh Dallas.
