    I would say that the jury is still out on wether the board have pulled a sleight of hand on Celtic fans.

     

    I want to believe the lack of investment in team to date is due to Brendan being careful to secure the right targets.

     

    However the cynic in me and the boards previous has me worried.

    Corkcelt / Jmccormick and many others have said just be civil no need for abuse, P67 and Winning Captains shouldn’t need to be annoyed about posts…..disagree all day long, the petty stuff what is the point, most punters on here are of a good age, just imagine 20years ago you are arguing with somebody on a typewriter ????

    Why do some on here talk about buying and selling players as if it is ever in the power of just one party.

     

     

    Unlike Mars bars, players (the commodity) actually have a say in the deal.

     

     

    So there has to be a willing seller – there has to be a willing buyer – there has to be a willing player – there has to be an agreed price between seller and buyer – there has to be an agreed deal for the player – there has to be an agreed deal for the agent.

     

     

    That’s six variiables that have to be negotiated before any deal goes through.

     

     

    Add in the less than appetising prospect of playing and living in Scotland…

     

     

    Can those calling to get rid of this one and buy that one, perhaps start living in the real world – it is not that simple.

    Was not meaning you personally.Its just that some comments on here start to grow out of all proportion.Earlier someone was telling us he would not play for us again.Quite a few are telling us he is no good anyway.How they work that out is anyones guess,considering the traumatic time all our CHs had with injuries,chopping and changing.The boy ,when fit,deserves a real chance,and I am sure BR will give him it,unlike some on here.

    O’Connell made nothing but mistakes when passing out of defence and that isn’t even an opinion :O)

     

     

    100% correct.I have no idea what game some people were watching but the boy had a horrendous time trying to pass the ball to a Celtic player.Looked very nervous,like Bambi on Ice.Has been good in the past though.

    O’Connel made 1 or 2 mistakes….but I saw him stride out of defence and past 1 or 2 Wolfsburg players on quite a few occasions….he will definetly come good….

    I find the fact that you said”As time goes by”in answering Negs post very strange.He has been saying the same thing for years.He is always sitting at the back of the bus with people saying racist things to him,its a shame really.That PL just does not understand the anguish he puts that man through.Its gotten that bad he cant even recognise Celtic Fans anymore.I blame the new strips.

    Hopefully Jozo turns out to be a quality player. Dinamo Zagreb have produced some quality.

     

     

    The question remains however about the wisdom of dealing with Zdravko Mamic.

     

     

    Have a look at him. The dates of his arrest, bail and re-arrest. Have a look at some of the transfers he was allegedly involved in.

     

     

    There’s no question of any wrongdoing by Celtic. It’s more a matter of competence.

     

     

    On another note;

     

     

    Have a look at Scepovic’s transfer history. Look at what Celtic paid for him? How long we kept him?

    What’s difficult to understand? As time goes by I find myself agreeing with Negs points more than I did before. Simples. When the Celtic board sat idly by through the 5 way agreement I thought “they’re biding their time” that was obviously NOT the case. If the Celtic board are proved not to be complicit in this now bastardised scenario I will be very very surprised. I hate to say it but Scottish football now means as much as WWF.

    cepovic,was he any good,or was it just the way we played?.I have no idea.Dont think we paid anything like what was reported for him.TET,who seen a lot more of him than an of us,always rated him in Spain.

     

    Simunovic.Nearly impossible to judge any of our CHs the way things have been for a couple of years.No consistency of selection through one thing or another.Not easy playing with a different defence most weeks.I think Boyatta has suffered with this also.I liked what I saw of him,looked good left side with KT.

     

    The transfer situation is a minefield all over the world.What I was saying was,he needs a good run in the team,alongside Eric,then he can be judged.If he is a “Real”sick note,or not that good,then get shot,but give him a chance.One thing,you wont get me slaughtering Celtic players.

    Yes Šćepović is a mystery. He did score 23 goals in 39 games at Gijon. There’s nothing in his record before that to suggest that form.

     

     

    There’s further questions I could ask but what’s the point?

     

     

    Anyway, it’s all history now I suppose.

     

     

    Let’s hope Brendan can get a handle on player recruitment and get the team going.

    Horrendous pictures of these kids being beaten,some to death by the crowds.

     

    To arrest 6,000 people inside two days smacks of a ready made list.

    We put together the package ourselves. Travel agents versions were prohibitively expensive.

     

     

    I just looked at Google maps and arrived on our itinerary that way. There are direct flights from London to Ponta Delgado, but we booked easyjet from Edinburgh to Lisbon and spent a few days there, and then flew to Ponta Delgado from there.

     

     

    We thought that it would be a one off, so decided to go the whole hog, and see a few of the Islands. We booked internal flights online (about €100 a pop) and booked hotels and accommodation through booking.com. Accommodation room rate has been around €65 – €90 per night. We were 6 nights at Ponta Delgado on San Miguel Island. We are currently staying 7 nights on Pico (picked here as you can travel by ferry for day trips to two other Islands – San Jorge and Faial. On Wednesday we fly to Angra de Heroismo on Terceira Island for 3 nights and then fly from there back to Lisbon, for another three nights before returning to Edinburgh and driving home. Internal Azores flights can only be booked by SATA, the Azorian airline.

     

     

    We are really enjoying it. It is different than a Med holiday, but I would recommend it. I have travelled and worked all over Europe and can safely say that the scenery here is the best I have ever seen. Food is simple, but tasty. People are nice on the whole, and beer is cheap. What’s not to like :))
