I popped into the Superstore yesterday,to mibbae get a couple of polo tops for the holidays, and I’ve got to say, I think Celtic have have taken the dollar before looking into this New Balance brand, the quality of the items is woeful. Why has the crest become a bit of sticky back plastic on a polo shirt? Hoodies, the new black track top, all with iron on crests, looks cheap and feels cheap, but it isn’t cheap. The gear from Umbro in the 90’s was better.

21-5-79,
I just got those very two items this morning in the post, £20 a pop, must say that I think the quality looks ok but I agree about the iron on badge, was looking forward to my embroidered version.
The other major difference is in the length of the two shirts, green polo is great but training top is a bit short, not that I’ll be training with it on.
Big Erik? I like this guy, he reminds me of John Clark , not a lot of pace but reads the game very well and is outstanding in the air, and if he’s the last defender and your trying to go past him, it’s not going to happen, he got a few yellows last season because the press made him out to be a tough guy with a no holes barred tackle (nothing new there then from our MSM) but he’s not like that he’s not a dirty player, other teams have statues of thugs outside they’r stadiums, I’ll just stick to having Jinky and Big Billy outside Celtic Park, sais it all REALY .
WOOF! I’v been looking at the negativity in the headlines today from the two chip wrappers DR & ET ffs? It’s all gloom and doom for us according to them, but! All’S well over at the crumble dome, two players not signing new contracts, but are going nowhere because they love it up here?
To me that reads no other Cnut wants them and they have no other option but to stay there?
Going to the Ayr races today, pub day oot :)) any Wee horse whispers about?

Not heard any whispers. Keith Dalgleish is a stable doing well ,and usually has a reasonable success rate at Ayr. My only investment (small) will be on Eastern Dragon. Trained by Iain Jardine , a small stable going well , who has owners who like a punt. If you’re in town , the Market Inn at the back of the railway station is the only Celtic friendly boozer around. Plenty season ticket holders are regulars. Enjoy your day down the coast and gamble responsibly. HH

Has anyone looked at how hopeless the figures are for us to compete in signing players.
1 player on £50k a week for a three year contract = £7.8 million without a transfer fee.
20000 new season tickets sold at £400 after VAT = £8 million.
EPL clubs get 81million before selling a ticket!
If you pay sky for EPL games then have a look in the mirror and you you’ll see the real cause of our clubs inability to attract players.

That time of year again when people get twitchy about new signings (or lack of). Is it not better to wait, decide exactly the type of player that will improve the team and wait for someone who fits that criteria to become available? Or fill the squad with journeymen in a scattergun approach as has been the case over the past few seasons?
Started reading the Kingdom of Govania on Saturday night. Yeah, funny but got me thinking about how many outside the internet bampots would actually ‘get’ some of the jokes. I’m going to give it to faither g and find out. He thinks the internet is the devil.
Worried about the headlines this morning building up Ajer. The whisper in my head was/is that I didn’t think he was that good on Saturday. As raw as a butchers counter. Played a few cracking balls right enough.
If that one pulls have a wee look at Taking Liberty’s in the 4-10. Kevin Ryan sends his only runner. His profit when only having one runner this season is £100+ to a level £ stake. At a good price it might be worth a wee bit each way.
Funny enough my youngest said to me ” can you do a forecast on golf”?
I don’t think you can though:-)

Superb punting. I was happy having Stenson @ 25/1. Being a shallow sort , when I read pre tournament of his passion for Celtic I put him on my short list for a punt. The standard of golf in the final pairing yesterday was awesome. It will be remembered for years. Top tournament , top week.HH

Agent reveals Ronaldo ‘nearly joined Rangers’
BRAZIL legend Ronaldo was on the verge of a stunning move to Rangers, according to his agent Giovanni Branchini.
Sir David Murray was reportedly set to sign the striker in a £20 million deal from Barcelona – on the basis that Ronaldo would only play in European matches, and not Scottish league games.
Branchini said: “The offer from Rangers was incredible. They told us he didn’t have to play on a Saturday in the Scottish League.
“They were desperate to win the Champions League and were going to allow him to play in the European matches only. But Inter Milan were the first club to meet the release clause so he went there.”

Getting a bit edgy with no new centre half in . Definitely a position needing fixed . If we could shift our dead wood that would allow for A few others to come in . A teak tough sort than can play a bit would also be an asset ,As I feel we don’t have enough steel in the team to back up our kids . As for mulgrew , Forrest, and rogic , If they don’t want to be at the club , then for me its thanks and watch the door on the way out . Watched big rogic being shouldered off the ball on Saturday by nearly the smallest player in the Wolfsburg team , and besides celtic have looked after him during his prolonged injuries . Wee tad ungrateful . But a better performance on Saturday and signs that with a few quality signings ,BR will give us a team . But we need those signings .

Incidentally, I have stopped using `Sevco`when talking of the Ibrox Club. It drew too many uncomprehending looks. I now refer to them as New Rangers..I find this works because it does not antagonise people and lead to an immediate closing of the mind but makes the point that the Old Rangers are no longer with us. Inevitability of gradualism and all that.
I wish some on here would lay off Scott brown, tomehe has been a good servant to the club, still is,not many give there time ,to take a great interest in the development squad, and he sure does, wee all know he has been blighted with injuries ,are beginning to take there toll, and he is not getting any younger,so cut him a bit of slack,

Supposing, just supposing, the Gibraltar result has confirmed that Ronny has left us with a squad full of duds, that even Brendan can do nothing with.
Supposing the last two years were a steady downward trend that is continuing due to the players we have recruited and cannot get rid of anytime soon.
Supposing we don’t overcome the Imps, or, more likely lose out in the next round – will the season be a failure before it’s even started.
We are in a Catch 22 situation – if we get into the CL proper, we could attract a bit of quality – but do we have the quality to get there?…very doubtful.

I still use ` Sevco` when talking to those who know what I mean and when my objective is to annoy. ` New Rangers`, I believe, is more effective in encouraging awareness of the fact that they are not the `same club` promoted by the MSSM but are, in fact, a new club.
