Confusion as SFA appears lax on terms

1036

Is it really possible that Charles Green made a genuine oversight and believed that monies due to Rangers FC (IA) could be paid by a debtor to selective creditors in order to let his Newco gain access to the Scottish Football League?

Back in May, while Rangers FC (IA) were adamant they would continue in business, the SPL agreed to pay money due to the club directly to creditors.  The club subsequently failed to pay, or agree terms with, creditors and a creditor has asked BDO to liquidate them.  The lawyers have earned enough from this saga in recent months, they would be scrambling for Gratuitous Alienation cast studies if the SPL was to selectively pay football clubs.

It looks like Mr Green is tying himself in knots over the Newco/Oldco routine.  His attention to detail has the potential to become legendary, however, he is entitled to wonder why the SFA have allowed his Newco membership despite apparently not meeting agreed terms. I am sure the SFA president will be all over this issue like a rash, demanding clear and proper process is followed.

Or is the SFA president still the only man at Hampden who cannot participate in any of the important issues concerning Scottish football?

    Could yet have profound implications…?

    Man wins TV licence battle

    2:00pm Sunday 12th August 2012 in News

A MAN who took on the TV Licensing authority in court and won is still waiting for his costs to be paid.

Michael Shakespeare, from Grays, made sure all his equipment at home could not receive a live TV signal and watched catch up TV through the internet, which you do not need a TV licence for.

Mr Shakespeare wrote to the authority to inform it what he had done, inviting it to send someone round to check it out.

An inspector was sent round to check the equipment and Mr Shakespeare filmed it.

He heard nothing more until five months later, when a summons for court arrived in the post for non-payment of his TV licence.

TV Licensing obtained a copy of Mr Shakespeare’s video, which was uploaded on to YouTube, and said it showed a frozen image on a TV screen of The One Show, proving Mr Shakespeare was receiving live TV.

But Mr Shakespeare said the image was not present in his original video.

In a landmark case at Basildon Crown Court, the judge found Mr Shakespeare had no case to answer, as TV Licensing could not prove the validity of the video. Their own inspector also said in court he had not seen the frozen image when he visited.

The judge ordered that Mr Shakespeare’s defense costs, in the region of £3,000, be paid through central funds, a separate source of funding managed by the Ministry of Justice.

He said: “This case wasted a year of my life and cost me in the region of about £18,000 as I had to employ expert witnesses.

“It was a brilliant result because it proved they didn’t have a shred of evidence that was arguable in law, but they still went ahead anyway.

“I believe they were trying to punish me because I was a political opponent to licensing.”

  2. The Cult defo played Saturday at Ibrokes. I was at that one.

    Hipsway were defo Friday.

The Waterboys may have played both nights.

I’ve been to many concerts, but the first time the Wolfe Tones played in the old Apollo was absolutely fanstastic. I’ve never know such a buzz at a concert!

When Tommy stepped up to sing the first song, which was BOTOB, the whole crowd started singing it, so he had to step back and just stood there looking at the rest of the band members wondering what the hell was going on!

With all due respect, I think you are just playing games with that comment.

There are similar massacres going on in various political hotspots around the world on a daily basis. Why should the South African atrocity receive special treatment when it comes to our mutual disgust and outrage?

Of course what happened was a disgrace, but the Sharpville massacre was completely different. They were fighting for their freedom against a brutal, racist regime which was universally abhorred.

If I didn’t know you I would surely be forgiven if I read your comment as coming from someone who is angry that Apartheid was overthrown, but I do know you and I know that not to be the case, hence the reason I question the motives behind your comment.

  4. Seen Simple Minds a couple of years back at Edinburgh Castle, uncovered with rain for 2 hours of biblical proportions.Jim and the Bhoys were brilliant.

  5. Got tickets for TFIF with Chris Evans a few years back, the turns were Annie Lennox,The Charlatans and David Bowie (i hope VP reads back tomorrow).Bowie ended his interview with Evans and came on stage to close the programme with 2 songs. You could see the closing titles on screens and thought that was it ,show over.He asked the crowd what songs we wanted to hear,he put on an hour concert of his best stuff as requested by the punters.5 yards away from the man,was truly outstanding.

Once I stood in the night

    With my head bowed low

In the darkness as black as could be

And my heart felt alone and I cried oh Lord

Don’t hide your face from me

Like a king I may live in a palace so tall

With great riches to call my own

    But I don’t know a thing

    In this whole wide world

    That’s worse than being alone

Hold my hand all the way, every hour every day

Come here to the great unknown

Take my hand, let me stand

    Where no one stands alone

Mr Hain will undoubtedly be demanding sanctions against the ‘Rainbow Nation’…

Well it won’t bring back the 4,000+ white farmers and their families murdered on their properties over the past 15 years….in a politically motivated terror campaign.

Perhaps the British High Commissioner to S.A.,former Labour Cabinet Minister,Lord Paul Yaw Boateng will speak out….

    But I wouldn’t hold ma breath…..

    Move along,Virginia….Nothing to see here….!

    BRT&H,

I rounded off the visit to St Peters by heading down the main drag to what looked like a turret StMichaels or StMartins something like that, headed up to the roof and enjoyed a couple of beers looking back up the main drag what a view of the vatican.

oh and had a wee read at your guest spot and its one of the most concise reviews I read anywhere, only problem is that the only time the enterprise ever go lost was with a woman driver at the helm :o)

What amazes me……completely anonymous (well, mostly, apart from the bods that actually know who you really are) blog where when you post you could be anyone, you could be any gender, you could be full of it,you could be any age. Who knows, who cares? Yet you can still end up totally wound up by someone equally anonymous. A virtual rammy. How 21st. Century is that?

So….what’s my point? You talkin’ to me? I don’t see anybody else here. You talkin’ to me?

    You know who you are.

I work in a place where the welding controls are not the best but smoking is banned beyond belief.

I followed the links on that article you put up, showed the wee wummin and she poured it all out, no toughed a drop since.

Anyroadup, as I said followed the link and signed up tae yon Dr and started reading his advice, and well, I should be deed :o)

  18. I never drink the chemical nonsense they flog real hard to children, ffs,or eat the utter e-number slop they call ‘food’ and flog equally as hard to overworked,over-tired people and their kids.

But I was daft enough to smoke for nearly 5 decades. I don’t begrudge anyone their stress relief….I’m not one of those anti-smoking fanatics all of a sudden, like so many who have quit, become.

However,in my addiction to fags,I deluded myself that I would dodge all the bullets, like a ghost dancer.

So….so far the big one missed me,but I still got emphysema, which will not progress so long as I never have a fag again. Fair enough.

But now I learn that diesel fumes are more carcinogenic than ever…..and I live on a main road.

So now I’m looking to move somewhere less fume laden.

Sometimes I just think…….wtf…..is this all worth it?

No….I’m not depressed. Far from it. It’s just that this world is so very crazy. Most of us would like it to not be so. But here we are. Ruled by the ruthless.
