Confusion as SFA appears lax on terms

1036

Is it really possible that Charles Green made a genuine oversight and believed that monies due to Rangers FC (IA) could be paid by a debtor to selective creditors in order to let his Newco gain access to the Scottish Football League?

Back in May, while Rangers FC (IA) were adamant they would continue in business, the SPL agreed to pay money due to the club directly to creditors.  The club subsequently failed to pay, or agree terms with, creditors and a creditor has asked BDO to liquidate them.  The lawyers have earned enough from this saga in recent months, they would be scrambling for Gratuitous Alienation cast studies if the SPL was to selectively pay football clubs.

It looks like Mr Green is tying himself in knots over the Newco/Oldco routine.  His attention to detail has the potential to become legendary, however, he is entitled to wonder why the SFA have allowed his Newco membership despite apparently not meeting agreed terms. I am sure the SFA president will be all over this issue like a rash, demanding clear and proper process is followed.

Or is the SFA president still the only man at Hampden who cannot participate in any of the important issues concerning Scottish football?

  1. By the way I see Rangers think they are going to break a world record attendance for a 4th division game.

What a thing to be bragging about. Hector, Rapid VIenna, St Ettiene, Arsenal and Chelsea might be interested though. Fair bit of cash is 40k people turning up to a game.

Another nail in the Swansea coffin, must be favourites to go down. Lost Siggurdsson, and Allen from last season, Sinclair next to leave and signing kyle bartley as replacement for Caulker.

  3. Is KI back yet and fit for action?

Get our Olympian on, and as captain, on Saturday.

The judge says to a double-homicide defendant,

“You’re charged with beating your wife to death with a hammer.”

A voice at the back of the courtroom yells out, “You swine!”

The judge says, “You’re also charged with beating your mother-in-law to death with a hammer.”

The voice in the back of the courtroom yells out, “You rotten swine!”

The judge stops and says to the guy in the back of the courtroom,

“Sir, I can understand your anger and frustration at these crimes, but no more outbursts from you, or I’ll charge you with contempt. Is that understood?”

The chap stands up and says, “I’m sorry, Your Honour, but for fifteen years I’ve lived next door to that lowlife, and every time I asked to borrow a hammer, he said he didn’t have one.”

  6. …pfayr- Personally I am very excited about the 2 upcoming games v Helsingborg, I was having kittens v HJK last week and will feel the same on Tuesday night.

Just think back to the games v Spartak Moscow and how we felt after the penalty shoot out. If that doesn’t get the pulses racing, nothing will.

    40,000 x £250 = £10,000,000.00

With the costs that a full time club would have with a training ground, stadium, hotels, wages, large staff, tax (no laughing).

  9. Snake Plissken on

The fanfare about 40,000 being at the Asbestos Dome this weekend is unsurprising.

It is early season and their first home league game (hee hee). They were bound to get a big crowd and are likely to get big crowds for a time (Man City got 30,0000 in Division 2 in England for goodness sake).

The crunch will come in the cold months of this year and into next year when they’ll have Division 2 to negotiate. We’ll see how loyal they are then and then we’ll see their loyal fans in either Div1 or the SPL (depending on how they try to reinvent the leagues for their benefit AGAIN) when they are not winning.

The players they have signed in the main are no better than most First Division players (or Peterhead players for that matter hee hee) and this supposed procession will fall flat on its face as they cannot sign anyone for a year very shortly and with no actual money being spent on that team they are unlikely to get much better than freebies like that big Donkey Kevin kyle.

We all know how loyal they are when things go down the tubes so with a transfer embargo to come all the feelgood factor tripe in the world from their propaganda machines are not going to make an ounce of difference.

Their much bragged about season ticket sales at 200 quid a pop (cheaper than most if not all SPL clubs) is likely to bring more in but for how long will all this last?

Then there is the debts to football clubs, ticketus, Green and the “title deeds” and paying their 3rd Division squad a minimum of 5k each a week. At 200 quid a pop they are unlikely to make much in their annual accounts (assuming they actually release any this year.

The MSM are shameless and you’d think they’d all have learnt lessons by bumming up owners of a club in blue who play there.

They still don’t know a thing about the backers but confidently predict big things. They now say Chalres Green is not daft and that is true provided you don’t look to ask searching questions of him and you take him at his word.

They did the same things with Murray and Whyte and how did those things work out?

They never learn and they never will. They are keeping the fans of this mob fed with the same drug they’ve been sold for 20 years because they cannot break the addiction – wealthy owners, wealth off the radar, war-chests, revolutions – bla bla bla.

I could write their stories for them, hell we all could.

Their predictability can be seen as desperate or as hilarious depending on your mood.

Next time they brag about it just tell them Celtic will get the same money for selling Ki as they will for selling their 200 quid season tickets before we add in our season ticket money and (hopefully CL cash). That will see a change in demeanor in jig time.

Definitely agree that some new blood is needed in the team to stimulate interest for the fans for the coming season, and also to put us in a better place for competing in Europe.

It seems a bit late for the qualifiers, and we’ll no doubt have to make the best of what’s available.

Should be an interesting game tomorrow: a win would be great obviously, but the priority might be to avoid any more injuries before the Helsingborgs game. Predict a share of the points.

To all those who played last year, its a simple 5 minute job to re-register and set up your team, most of you will have probably forgotten your passwords so just type in your email and a recovery password will be sent to you.

New players just register normally, will take no longer than ten minutes.

This year I’ve gone for the classic league, literally most points wins over the course of the season compared to last years head to head system, where you played different people every week and three points for win, one for draw etc.

  17. May I ask – why did the huns even wear 5 stars? What for? What was the actual purpose other than make them appear a successful side with 5 European cups despite the fact they won none in their 140 year history which has now ended?

Pretty much summed up the reason they had the 5 stars.

I was under the impression that Celtic had been refused permission to have the star on the jersey for the European cup win but we were then given permission to allow Rangers to have the tainted stars.

Not sure if that is my paranoia or truth.

    Good morning CQNers,

There has been much debate in recent days about capitalism, socialism and other ‘ism’s’, but my friends in Celtic the attached brings home the stark reality of where it lead. No doubt there’ll be some posters who’ll want to have their say, who’ll use Google and come on here pontificating, can I just say, save it, the pictures tell me all I need to know.

  21. If the Daily Record has printed the world record attendance story for a fourth tier game this shows the lengths they will go to for a positive spin.

Maybe in another country the story would read ” disgraced phoenix club could pay off some debt as big crowd expected”.

The fact is they are a fourth tier club, that is the important thing in the story.

Many good Celtic fans who aren’t with us would have loved to see that headline today.

Now is the time for Celtic to move away from them on and off the park.

Give youth a chance and give underachievers away.

  22. I’m off to ballyshannon to spend the weekend with ” non football watching friends” anybody know of any pubs in the town that would be showing the game? Thanks

Apparently the stars are a representation of thems winning 50+ league titles

They’ll have to redesign their kit when the titles they won by cheating are removed

So NFL has said that he plans to field a strong team against Ross County but with an eye on the Helsingborg game. So what does everyone think the team will be? I am hoping we see a few young guys like Watt and Twardzik. However I hope the backline remains solid with Izzy, Mulgrew, Rogne and Matthews. Big Vic to play too since he is suspended for Helsingborg anyway. Good solid defence to ensure we dont give the papers another Ross County win over us to talk about (but in the final analysis who cares as long as we win in the CL!)
