Confusion as SFA appears lax on terms

1036

Is it really possible that Charles Green made a genuine oversight and believed that monies due to Rangers FC (IA) could be paid by a debtor to selective creditors in order to let his Newco gain access to the Scottish Football League?

Back in May, while Rangers FC (IA) were adamant they would continue in business, the SPL agreed to pay money due to the club directly to creditors.  The club subsequently failed to pay, or agree terms with, creditors and a creditor has asked BDO to liquidate them.  The lawyers have earned enough from this saga in recent months, they would be scrambling for Gratuitous Alienation cast studies if the SPL was to selectively pay football clubs.

It looks like Mr Green is tying himself in knots over the Newco/Oldco routine.  His attention to detail has the potential to become legendary, however, he is entitled to wonder why the SFA have allowed his Newco membership despite apparently not meeting agreed terms. I am sure the SFA president will be all over this issue like a rash, demanding clear and proper process is followed.

Or is the SFA president still the only man at Hampden who cannot participate in any of the important issues concerning Scottish football?

    That is a statement of fact, not an opinion. No one who knows anything about football would dispute it.

    Good post …factually accurate article …never catch on in Scottish MSM circles

    Regarding the amounty of Stars on Sevco’s jersey, given that they have only played around 3 competitive games in their history, I reckon the answer should be NONE.

    Also I haven’t seen a satisfactory explanation regarding how they managed to get players registered for the first of those matches, the Ramsden cup tie against Brechin, given that they only received SFA membership late on the Friday before the weekend of the match.

    We should be without doubt be targeting three points. I would like to see and am fully supportive of Lenny managing his squad with Tuesday in mind.

    I’m confident of winning the league, of course I am. But it ain;t happened yet, 37 games to go and all that. Take one at a time and chalk up the points, don’t give a team confidence boost by hanging onto our coattails or topping the table early doors.

    I’m a firm beleiver in momentum for football teams, get a winning roll going (even better big margin victories) and watch the confidence soar

    ASOD, your post says Heerenveen ??

    +++++

    Finnbogason was contracted to Lokeren, but had been loaned out to Van Helsingborg.

    Liverpool signed Assaidi from Heerenveen, who therefore in turn wanted a replacement in fast, so they made an offer to Finnbogason’s parent club (Lokeren), thus removing said player from van Helsing’s ranks.

    Finnbogason had scored 78 league goals in 5 games or something.

  10. I think Neil Lennon will play the strongest team available but we have injury worries.

    Scott Brown (hip), James Forrest (groin), Anthony Stokes (ankle), Gary Hooper (hamstring) and Paddy McCourt (groin),

    Murphy & McGeoch are definitely out through injury.

    From Uefa CL Regulations for cycle 2012-2015

    For the three qualifying rounds and the play-offs, a club may register a

    maximum of one new eligible player on List A after the above-mentioned

    deadlines, provided the quota of locally trained players is respected. Such

    registration must be completed by 24.00 CET on the day before the relevant

    first-leg match and the club’s association must confirm in writing that the new

    player is eligible to play at domestic level at this time.

  18. General deadlines (again from the current regulations):

    List A has to be submitted by the following fixed deadlines:

    a) 25 June 2012 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the first qualifying round;

    b) 12 July 2012 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the second qualifying round;

    c) 26 July 2012 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the third qualifying round;

    d) 13 August 2012 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the play-offs;

    e) 3 September 2012 (24.00 CET) for all further matches from the first match

    in the group stage up to and including the final.

    I suggest you return to my posts this morning, and I quote for you convenience…

  24. Well they wont be able to use that decoy again, now the manager has blabbed about it.

    Israel’s national team were forced to use a decoy bus when leaving the Ferenc Puskás Stadium in Budapest after facing Hungary in a friendly this week.

    Manager Eli Guttman told reporters upon arriving back in Tel-Aviv that there had been a threat against the team during their trip to Hungary.

    “I don’t know how much was known about this in Israel, the players were aware, but there were very severe warnings of a possible attack,” Guttman was quoted as saying by Reuters.

    The match passed off without incident as Hungary and Israel played out a 1-1 draw, but Guttman said they were forced into evasive measures after the game’s conclusion.

    “Our bus was sent out of the stadium after the match with a police escort and sirens sounding so that people would think it was us,” Guttman explained.

    “We were asked to stay behind and we left later in a bus with the blinds drawn.”

    I am of the opinion that a young Celtic side should be able to pick up the 3 points this week-end and that we should rest most of our first team players for our big European game.Why have a large number of players on your books if you are not going to use them? H.H.
