Ronny Deila expressed his pride in his Celtic side tonight as they picked up another three points at Dundee in a 2 -1 victory. Celtic had to recover from the disappointment and the huge effort put into the match against Inverness on Sunday. The Celtic manager reflected on this after tonight’s victory at Dens Park.

“I’m very pleased with the performance and the boys tonight,” he said. “I’m proud of them because it’s tough as we’ve played many games in a row now.

“We had 120 minutes on Sunday and the disappointment was there as well so we got rid of that and we were ready for the game and we won it. We deserved to win it as well so I was very pleased with the players and also with the fans. They were unbelievable today.

“They stayed behind the team and lifted us up through the 90 minutes. It was better than playing at home almost and it was a very good night.

“We have put ourselves in a good position now with five games left and eight points, with the goal difference as well. We just have to keep performing and winning and put pressure on Aberdeen.”

Deila also had some special praise for goalscoring central defender Virgil Van Dijk who has had an outstanding season. Ronny had this to say about the big Dutchman tonight:

“He showed last season he can do free kicks, from what I’ve seen, and you see it in training as well that he has very good free-kicks and a good shot so we have to use it more,” he added.

“You always get a bit nervy at the end but they didn’t really have many chances. We were a little bit naive there and should have just kept the ball and kept the balance in the team but that’s how it goes and we won the game. That’s the most important thing.”

The Champagne is just about to go on the ice for the fourth year in a row as the Celtic support tonight loudly chanted about TEN IN A ROW. Here we go…
