why would it?
The lyrics of this Springsteen song suggest that our heroes can live on through our memories of them. I like to think that all of The Lions, including Joe, can still sing this song through our support.
For Joe McBride
“There is a cross up yonder up on calvary hill
There is a slip of blood on a silver knife
There is a graveyard kid down below
Where at night did come to life
And above the stars, they crackle in fire
A dead man’s moon throws seven rings
Well, we put our ears to the cold grave stones
This is the song they’d sing
We are alive
And though our bodies lie alone here in the dark
Our spirits rise to carry the fire and light the spark
To stand shoulder to shoulder and heart to heart
A voice cried out, I was killed in maryland in 1877
When the railroad workers made their stand
Well, I was killed in 1963 one sunday morning in birmingham
Well, I died last year crossing the southern desert
My children left behind in san pablo
Well they left our bodies here to rot
Oh please let them know
We are alive
Oh, and though we lie alone here in the dark
Our souls will rise to carry the fire and light the spark
To fight shoulder to shoulder and heart to heart
Let your mind rest easy, sleep well my friend
It’s only our bodies that betray us in the end
I awoke last night in a dark and dreamy deep
From my head to my feet, my body gone stone cold
There were worms crawling all around me
Fingers scratching at an earth black and six foot low
And alone in the blackness of my grave
Alone I’d been left to die
Then I heard voices calling all around me
The earth rose above me, my eyes filled with sky
We are alive
And though our bodies lie alone here in the dark
Our souls and spirits rise
To carry the fire and light the spark
To fight shoulder to shoulder and heart to heart
To stand shoulder to shoulder and heart to heart
We are alive”

It was their 9 in a row , the souness and Murray years in microcosm – Celtic are pathetically poor and the mighty rangers will march on in triumph.
________________________________________________
Remember how they used to quantify it in fine tolerances. One radio pundit would say, ‘Celtic are 5 years behind Rangers.’ only to be contradicted by another buffoon, ‘More like ten years.’
The other thing to remember is that when we faced closure – not as a result of any malfeasance – there was not one word in the MSM about salvaging us. We did it ourselves. And the first thing the authorities did after that was to confiscate £100,000 from Fergus – to nation-wide approval. Smudger was the cheer-leader.
RIP Joe McBride YNWA
On Clyde’s latest statement what Clyde are asking for is evidence that Sevco meet National Club Licensing criteria.
One of the purposes of licensing at all levels is to give other clubs some assurance fellow clubs will not go belly up mid season.
There was a massive failure to apply the process, even before UEFA beefed it up and it STILL will have to be applied to Newco, so what Clyde are asking for is in essence can the SFA grant Sevco a licence because the SFA are satisfied Sevco comply?
The SFA are avoiding the risk of getting it wrong by having the SFL vote ok for they can then say the. SFL were happy to take the risk in doing so. Clyde clearly are not and other clubs are as likely to be as reluctant.
In any case if the SFL Rules on their web site are the latest the SFA still have to approve membership (as well as grant a club licence) after the vote.
.
There is no published criteria for SFA membership but there is for National Club Licensing and Clyde need to know if Sevco meet them.
And that is ignoring the other charges still to be heard that Sevco can only avoid if they are treated as a new applicant as they should be rather a sham transfer (Oldco face those)

What was the 100K for, and how was smudger involved?

much more likely to be blue and white stripes
I’m thinking blue and white vertical stripes
On the matter of Celtic’s stance: Celtic like their support will have known for years that the SFA favoured Rangers. I got it straight from the horses mouth that when Celtic spoke to the SFA about songs sung by Rangers support to ask for action the stock answer to justify inaction was Celtic fans sung ,,,,,,,,,,,
When Celtic went to SFA with a DVD of questionnable decision in early 2010 they were asked ” What are you saying here?” and Tony Mowbray was offered to listen to Dallas patronising him just as they did with questions from Celtic fans ie as if we were paranoid.
Well the paranoid wall they hid behind was flanked by requests for transparency and accountabilty moulded and shaped on CQN and came tumbling down when the real reason for the SFA favouring Rangers – ebts – emerged.
The idea that Celtic are going to forget the disdain with which they were treated to allow the same disdain to continue means the accusers do not know the Keltic nature below the love of Celtic that is part of the Board culture because they ARE Celtic supporters but with a responsibility the supporters do not have.
This means not charging over the top of the trench in very hostile territory.

If Clyde and others aren’t satisfied with the SFAs ungracious evasiveness on this matter, could or can the vote be postponed ?

The 100k was for poaching TB from kilmarnock as pf ayr says. Wasn’t Smith chief exec of the SFA at the time?
On the SFA a question – one of many – remains unanswered – did Deadco pay them compensation for poaching Smith from the Scotland job. I think. Can guess the answer. Can you?

The rumour mill is quiet just now too.
How many years have we been saying we need to sign a quality CB?
And, unless Tony Watt gets a chance, which I believe he is due, we need a striker too.
