Dear SFA, a joke hurt our feelings

1666

Can you imagine how a formal complaint about the comment ‘Rory Bremner can pretend to be Tony Blair’ would be composed?

‘Dear SFA, a rude man’s joke hurt our feelings.  Tell him straight, no more jokes!’

I clicked onto the NEW club’s site to confirm their reaction.  As well as complaining about a joke [it wouldn’t hurt if it wasn’t true], they complain about the Daily Record, “the paper is riddled from top to bottom with an anti-Rangers bias”, just to prove they also have a sense of humour.

They also attempted to put a stake in the ground by affirming that Pinsent Masons, now representing Scotland’s champions and sole Champions League participants, did not report to the police that Craig Whyte has any connection to the club/company.

No one has ever suggested that Pinsent Masons made such a report.  This is a bit like insisting that Ally McCoist will not manage the Champions League winners this season.  Pinsent Masons were far too busy taking instructions from their top client’s chief executive, in his non-comedic role.

What a laugh!

Had a quick look at that site.

The guy shows the political insight and maturity one would expect from a 22 year old.

And from the wee bit I read he seems to be obsessed with getting people to vote yes.

Is that honestly the best you can muster?

We were under no illusions about the corruption, you have identified some examples were the license was not pulled, we are looking for examples were it was pulled and if you can think of any it would be much appreciated. I have seen UEFA have pulled about 28 licences in one of their state of football publications but they dont give details, these are much more valuable to us, if anyone knows of examples with verifiable info in similar circumstances it would help big time.

I don’t want to go on about Res 12 all night– in fact I am not going to be on here all night as there is life beyond the keyboard honest.

However the point that Canamalar makes above is hugely important.

If anyone knows of instances where UEFA or a national association has pulled a playing licence in any season or for any reason can you please let us know.

That is one of a number of key issues.

Not the only one but certainly a key one.

By the way, no one should ever underestimate Canamalar’s resolve and view re all of this. He and Auldheid have a real focus on this.

I thought that was pretty obvious.

Pairing is there for a reason.

It allows MPs do do things, legitimate, worthwhile things, things I hope we would all support, away from Parliament, without affecting or distorting the outcome of a vote.

But then maybe the SNP aren’t concerned about the rise of Antisemitism in Europe.

Certainly a lot of them weren’t that bothered in the 1930s.

    Just catching up –

Ernie, are you saying that MPs’ do do things are more legitimate and more worthwhile than other peoples’, e.g. my do do things?

Trabzonspor have started their Europa League campaign well but have had their UEFA prize money withheld having failed to prove that they have no’ overdue payables’ (i.e. tax, wages, transfer fees). The situation is serious for Trabzonspor as the Turkish Tax authorities have recently publicly lodged that the club owes tax dating back to 2012 for around £4.1m.

  11. Can’t remember a Douglas Alexander from before I left Glasgow in mid 90s.

He looks the spitting image of a Wendy Alexander who I seem to remember as a very inept politician at the time.

The resemblance is spooky…….has there been a Hayley Cropper type operation?

  12. BRT&H, I play my politics in the local sense, Community Trust(retired for now, soon to return), School Board, it isn’t big but it is important, it can make a difference. It is not party politics either, it’s just every day stuff.

My comment, politics without action, is played out in school playgrounds and paper shops all over the country, everyone has an opinion, few will voice them in forums that will influence outcomes.

We play our politics on different forums, levels, but they effect our communities, getting involved matters.

Getting involved made me aware of how small things can affect a lot of people in a multitude of ways.

That is what I meant by politics without action is just talking.

Just home after a great afternoon in Glasgow socialising with the wonderful Celtic family that is CQN!

It was special meeting Linda Ryan and her lovely family and an honour to toast the memory of her dearly departed husband George.(St John Doyle)

It was also my, and my wife Christine’s, pleasure to meet so many CQN legends in the flesh.

Lennybhoy, ElDiegoBhoy, Bundoran Bhoy, FourGreenFields, CelticRollerCoaster, St Stivs, Paddy Gallagher (what a surprise you were!) and the one and only Sannabhoy.

Sincere apologies if I’ve missed anyone…..old age comes not alone!

I just wish I could drink more and for longer!

Also it didn’t do me any harm to see my wife watching me having a few beers and not make a complete arse of myself, so i might get to the next meet!

Again, my absolute pleasure in meeting you all.

    Take care and God bless.
