Dear SFA, a joke hurt our feelings

1666

Can you imagine how a formal complaint about the comment ‘Rory Bremner can pretend to be Tony Blair’ would be composed?

‘Dear SFA, a rude man’s joke hurt our feelings.  Tell him straight, no more jokes!’

I clicked onto the NEW club’s site to confirm their reaction.  As well as complaining about a joke [it wouldn’t hurt if it wasn’t true], they complain about the Daily Record, “the paper is riddled from top to bottom with an anti-Rangers bias”, just to prove they also have a sense of humour.

They also attempted to put a stake in the ground by affirming that Pinsent Masons, now representing Scotland’s champions and sole Champions League participants, did not report to the police that Craig Whyte has any connection to the club/company.

No one has ever suggested that Pinsent Masons made such a report.  This is a bit like insisting that Ally McCoist will not manage the Champions League winners this season.  Pinsent Masons were far too busy taking instructions from their top client’s chief executive, in his non-comedic role.

What a laugh!

Is this not what mad Shug O’Donnell used to charge when all the judges and lawyers went for a ‘sauna’ up Park Circus way?

I would like 2 things on that night.

    1. We win.

    2. Paradise Windfall drawn by Rory Bremner.

Of the two, I would settle for the first, of course.

I was at Camelon FC v Lesmahagow FC, in the Scottish Junior cup today. Great game, 5 goals, 1 sending off on the pitch and Lesmahagow had their manager sent off as well. Scottish football at it’s best lol.

Prior to meeting up with my mate to go to the game I was at St Mary’s in Calton with other members of the Celtic Trust, I heard some first hand accounts of the brutality of the Amsterdam Police.

Something came to me today, I’m not sure exactly why I came to think about it, maybe it was just something I always knew but had never saw first hand. Today I saw in Jeanette Findlay and Eddie Toner and Marie why I love this club. They, unselfishly, give their free time to help others. They don’t question or judge, just listen and other support to those who were wrongly treated.

I want to be a better person and today I realised that by just doing what you know is right and just by being there for those who need a helping hand, you can become a better person. This club this support gives us all an opportunity to be the person we want to be.

I know I’m drunk and I’ll want to delete this in the morn but now This is how I feel.

So glad you seen it out to the end. I have only total admiration for what you and the others achieved at the AGM.

  7. So to reiterate my question, Ernie, I’m not a Nat, in fact I have absolutely no political affiliations at all can you tell me why I would not vote for your Labour party ? yet I would vote for Scotland. Why is that what do you think is wrong ?

I dont think any apologies are needed, I did set off on the wrong foot and have been proven wrong, we live and learn. Still a bit miffed at the living wage though but one thing at a time, if we get compensation maybe that’ll pay for the living wage :o)

I would imagine it would make it more difficult for us to move to the EPL.

I’d love to see how we would do there. And non biased officials to ref the games and an unbiased media to report on them would be refreshing.

  13. On a car trip home right now with my 7 year old grand daughter playing I- spy trying to guess something beginning with P….After a few minutes I give up and she informs me the answer is Poofy.

Poofy? Yes Grandpa , you know Poofy – hanging from the mirror.

Laughed, I nearly crashed the car.

You seem to be under the impression that I’m a psychologist or psychiatrist and can explain why you do what you do.

    I’m sorry I can’t help you.

If your troubled by the matter I suggest you ask your GP for a referral.

    Good luck.

  16. Marrakesh Express on

I’ve said it before…the only reason the Huns dont accept death is because its an acceptance that the ‘Irish Immigrants’ have won the 100 year war. A football sense maybe but as we know it goes well beyond that in this country. They’ve had plenty of time to work out the consequences and ramifications of their actions, but all we get is more denial, at any cost.

Is this an example of why mankind has been warmongering for 3000 years?

  17. theweegreenman

maybe that’s why Ernie didn’t answer me, at 20.59, as it was his spelling mistake.

  19. That’s very rude of you calling my mental health into question.

I am now officially very upset. You are not a very nice person

And all because you are too frustrated to answer a very simple question.

    Hail Hail

  20. Evening all

    Hope your all well.

    Tin Hat On!!

The Rangers, RIFC etc still embelish all the traits & arrogance that made me despise them since the 90’s.

That is more important than newco/sevco argument IMO. They are out of control & we must leave them to it & not get dragged into their nonsense.

Can argue the finer points for decades but fact of the matter is the Ibrox mob will be back in 18 months, I’m looking forward to it!!

We should be far too strong for them & watching them slowly realise how far ahead we are will be splendid!!

The irony being that thinking that your mental health has been called into question when it hasn’t raises the possibility that there may in fact be an issue there.

  23. Definition of phoenix activity

Business recreating liquidated firm under new name.

Evasion of official responsibilities by the directors of a company that has had to cease doing business, by leaving liabilities in the liquidated business so that the underlying business activity can be immediately resumed under another name free of such liabilities.

Now let me think, I wonder what this means for the business currently complaining about a one-liner quip made by Peter Lawell ….

  24. Evening girls & boys, hope we’re all enjoying Saturday night.

One point that was made on the Shortbread discussion earlier this evening was that any game between us and sevco would overwhelmingly be about bigotry and sectarianism and have little to do with football.

    Not for me thanks.
