Dear SFA, a joke hurt our feelings

1666

Can you imagine how a formal complaint about the comment ‘Rory Bremner can pretend to be Tony Blair’ would be composed?

‘Dear SFA, a rude man’s joke hurt our feelings.  Tell him straight, no more jokes!’

I clicked onto the NEW club’s site to confirm their reaction.  As well as complaining about a joke [it wouldn’t hurt if it wasn’t true], they complain about the Daily Record, “the paper is riddled from top to bottom with an anti-Rangers bias”, just to prove they also have a sense of humour.

They also attempted to put a stake in the ground by affirming that Pinsent Masons, now representing Scotland’s champions and sole Champions League participants, did not report to the police that Craig Whyte has any connection to the club/company.

No one has ever suggested that Pinsent Masons made such a report.  This is a bit like insisting that Ally McCoist will not manage the Champions League winners this season.  Pinsent Masons were far too busy taking instructions from their top client’s chief executive, in his non-comedic role.

What a laugh!

Thankfully times have changed and us Southern Hemispherists are safe from such an outcome

Glad you like the Annual. Re the CQN Roll of Honour we left a few doublers in deliberately as we knew it would cause some controversy. It was just a bit of fun!

Re Pat Nevin – I thought he was 100% honest last night. He told us some very private things and he also gave us a detailed insight into the events that led to us asking for last night’s interview. BRTH is going to make sense of it all and we should give him the time to do that.

Re the CQn Facebook page – you can join the fun (and it is madness!) at the CQN Magazine Facebook page here:

    THE BOY JINKY

Yer not normally known for such remarkable tolerance of eejits, obviously Goa brings out the best in you!

People like that are why I rarely initiate football conversations in Kilwinning. Dunno whether to laugh, cry, educate,or batter some sense into them.

It’s a real worry though that such thinking is so prevalent amongst them.

As alluded to by STEINREIGNEDSUPREME for example.

I reckon most of us on here would agree that virtually all of the huns we have met are bearing a grievance. And that is worrying.

And also the fault of the MSM,that’s right, the same MSM who accuse Peter Lawwell of fanning the flames.

    Buncha hypocrites.

Btw,good to see you back on. Missed ya,fella. And that’s a genuine comment.

‘Bedoya was signed by Ally McCoist in July, 2011 from Swedish side, Orebro, but only made a dozen appearances, scoring once.

When Rangers entered administration in 2012, Bedoya joined Helsingborgs in Sweden. He’s now playing for newly-promoted Nantes in the French top division.’

“The ‘minutes from closure’ phraseology still rankles with me to this day. I was deeply involved with the events of early 1994.”

I understand that. But the media have their own agenda and they do not allow facts to get in the way.

This policy is not completely negative from our perspective. If it had not been for misinformation about the situation at Ibrox over the past 20 years, Rangers may well be around at the moment.

The media played a key role in killing them off.

  8. Is it any wonder we beat Dundee United 7 – 2? According to the History of Celtic Programmes we had 12 men!!

Celtic team : Fallon, Hay, Gemmell, Murdoch, McNeill, Brogan, Johnstone, Hood, Wallace, Auld, Hood, Hughes

Subs (used) : Craig for Auld

With Jinky in that form and Harry playing like two men, they didn’t stand a chance-:)

You had me at hedgerows! Fortunately I’m on the pure at the moment, resisted the temptation to splash it over the phone.

    Makes a helluva mess.

As I said to TBJ above, their reasoning is flawed by the reporting of the situation, and their grudges are growing by the minute.

The MSM should,IMO,be told to rein their necks in,stop pandering to the lowest common denominator and tell the truth.

They are stoking a fire in the name of arresting a halt in readership.

It is shameful, and borders on incitement.

Rangers’ Peralta blasts Neymar after Brazil defeat

Rangers player Arnold Peralta had an extraordinary bust-up with Brazilian superstar Neymar after his Honduran side were destroyed by the Barcelona forward.

Peralta and Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre featured as Honduras were ripped apart 5-0 by the World Cup hosts in Miami. The game featured a running battle between Honduran right-back Peralta and Neymar.

Neymar refused to shake Peralta’s hand after the game and later posted pictures on his Twitter account of his bruised and bloodied legs after the fiery encounter, with the caption, ‘great victory…just about got out alive.’

However, Peralta accused him of being an actor after their clashes.

He said: “He is a player who 100 per cent plays like he belongs in a theatre. He plays for the fans, not for his team mates. You can’t play against him because he complains to the ref all the time and the ref gives him everything.

“We all know you cannot touch him because he goes down straight away. The slightest contact and he drops and the referees always fall for it. (Scotsman)

Ask them to explain how Bedoya, who still had two years left to run on his contract, was able to walk away from the Club without any repercussions.

Ask whether it could have been because his employers, the Club, had ceased to exist and his contract was therefore no longer enforceable against him.

  14. Could someone give me a link to the video clip of the Duke of Wellington statue coming to life, please? It was on here a few days ago.

  16. winning captains,

Thanks for including my Seville tale in the upcoming book, no issues with the editing, I was trying to remember little bits as I wrote it down but it was as close to real as I could recall.

Enjoying the latest magazine as well.

  17. Back in the day, it was always very hard to get rid of your doublers.

Henry Hall of St.Johnstone was a famous doubler, in every collection, and

of course the sneaky card makers always made the Hoops stars elusive.

Can’t wait to read the nevin interview.

Seems like a lot will come out in the next 6 months. Will the rats jump ship?

  20. Medtim.

That Murdoch goal was the best goal I have ever seen live. It was Jinky who dummied the ball (he was running away from the goal at the time I remember). The Murdoch shot was astonishing. I know a Rangers fan who jumped up and applauded the goal – “What else can I do for a goal like that?” he said.

I always quite liked Davy Wilson, very crafty player. I remember one time (post-Rangers) he got Yogi sent off – Yogi squared up to him and Wilson fell over like he had been shot. From the stand you could see Wilson lying face down on the ground, killing himself laughing as Yogi walked. Smarter than the average bear, perhaps.

  21. Bearing a grievance –

    2 examples .

Hearts pal attends a monthly get together of early 1970s Edinburgh Uni Medicine Graduates . Held in Diggers Bar . One attendee is a big cheese consultant in an Edinburgh hospital. A recent get together saw the chat turning to fitba and the issue of the Deady Bears being raised. Seems the big cheese consultant had a flakey and started ranting about conspiracy .He hasn’t been seen since.

PTFC pal has shared an office with a Rangers supporter for @ 20 years… They are now ” not speaking “. The reason being PTFC man’s view of the Deady Bears situation being no different than that of ” a f****** Taig “

  23. antipodean

Indeed he was, could easily have graced the Hoops squad, or at least made the bench and came on when Jinky was running out of steam.

Unfortunately he was overlooked probably due to his hairstyle of the time, which although similar to Bobby Charlton’s, was always off putting.

I dont enjoy these International breaks they kill the momentum of league football I am looking forward to Saturdays game with the Dandy Dons we will have to wait to see if any of our players come back crocked.I certainly feel with the travelling some of them have had there may be a few tired legs amongst them.
