Deila and Hutter bedding into their new teams

1385

There are parallels between Salzburg and Celtic.  After an outstanding season Salzburg lost their coach, Roger Schmidt, in May to Bayer Leverkusen, appointing Adolf Hutter (commentators beware), who previously managed Austrian Bundesliga club Grodig and is largely unknown outside Austria.

Unlike Ronny Deila, Hutter has not tried to change Salzburg’s system, but the period of transformation has been blamed for Salzburg failing to overcome Malmo in the Champions League play-off round (Malmo taxed Juventus in Turin last night before two second half Tevez goals settled things).  New instructions, new training techniques and, in some cases, new personnel present challenges.

Ronny has had a few false starts but the return of Scott Brown at the weekend, the return to form of Kris Commons, who will surely start, and the addition of Scepovic, Tonev and Wakaso to the squad give reason for confidence.

  1. Malone Bhoy,

having asked the question my point was that his time would have been much better spent campaigning face to face with people rather than spending countless hours on here arguing with people who were obviously set in their ways regarding the vote,i cannot see why he would not answer this question

Not to denigrate worries of discrimination.

I would ask you what your thoughts are of David O’Connor, Celtic supporting Highland Chief of Police Scotland – just retired, but has been made a Director of Ross County by Free Church of Scotland member Roy MacGregor.

(Cheesed me off that a bit because I wondered what has he got that qualifies him for that job.)

Do you know what, I think he may be a Roman Catholic… but I don’t actually know….because I’m not interested. (And I don’t mean that in a bad way!)

I had a serious fall out with a very good friend ( 42 years worth ) on the 2nd of May !997 . The reason ? My belief that Tony Blair was a Snake Oil seller . Big fall out -we never spoke again .

Managed to repeat that feat last night with a very good pal ( 48 years worth ) Achieved through the medium of emails . The reason -today’s Yes / No thing. Big ,Big fallout .

Missed the start of the Catholics in Police Scotland debate but don’t see the relevance or the point? 12% of a 16% population in my opinion is not too bad considering there’s probably a historic lack of trust etc. in the police? If I thought we got a raw deal from the police (which I think sometimes we do) I’d be less inclined to join the police. That’s maybe the opposite from what would change perceptions and/or reality but that’s the way it is.

I would never join the British army. A Scottish army I wouldn’t discount…

Seroiusly! At least I gave you a larf. I’ve been doing a lot of that lately.

Am I intersted. Yes I am. But today. No i am not.

You have posted a snapshot to suit an argument in the hope of swaying some in order that you do not need to leave the country as you stated you will in the event of a YES vote.

If you were not being disengenious you would have posted the full picture for everyone to peruse at their leaisure if they were so interested.

Why did you choose Catholics? Maybe because this is a Celtic website and the majority pesuasion will have sympathy with your argument!

It was a sad attempt by you. But not surprising.

I am pleased to hear you are laughing. I had been getting a tad worried about the anger emenating from your posts this last few days. laughing always helps.

  15. From the BBC site:

“Celtic aim to go all the way to the Europa League final

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has backed up defender Jason Denayer’s claim they can go all the way and win the Europa League this season.”

In my next post, I will show you what was said.

  16. “If we get the right progress, and of course a bit of luck, anything is possible,” said Deila.

“But for now we will try and progress as a team and get through this group.”

  17. Ulsan/Black Isle Celt on

    Neganon,

Correct me if I am wrong but are you assuming that 16% of police applicants are Catholic, in line with the % of the population as a whole?

If you can show that more than 12% of applicants are Catholic then you can claim bias that only 12% are selected. However, if less than 12% of applicants are Catholic then it shows a positive bias towards Catholics.

  18. Neganon2- i’m just having a wee laugh after months of tension on here.

It’s too late for me, Ernie and your good self to influence anyone, not that we ever did! :-)

Today i’ll finish work, go home to the family and watch my team play.

Afterwards i’ll go and vote, happy in my decision.

Tomorrow i’ll wake up and see the result. If YES i’ll be delighted. If NO then my country has rejected independence and i can and will live with that.

    I will not blame anyone.

  20. lurkin tim no i said I had no interest. Theres a lot going on just now – no?

See thats what using FACTS does. leads to no use of facts.

Alisdair – did I make up the statistics? Or did police scotland? I have no view of David OConner. All I did was ask for some information and relayed it here. All the heat and noise and denial of the numbers is simply because the mode of the yes campaign is to deny anything that doesnt paint a rosy picture. And so it has happenned here.

malone bhoy I did actually suspect the figures would be worse. And perhaps you have help explain the 4% difference. However that was always the excuse when using discrimanatory employment practices wasnt it? You know, claim that whatever group you are discriminating against dont want to join in the first place. What you would expect is that police scotland would want to address that yes? Well no because they hide these figures away and only an FOI could get them out.

  25. My opinion:

If No wins the vote, there will be a muted response from the No voters.

If Yes wins, there will be raucous celebrations from the Yes voters.

Does that tell us anything meaningful?
