Deila and Hutter bedding into their new teams

1385

There are parallels between Salzburg and Celtic.  After an outstanding season Salzburg lost their coach, Roger Schmidt, in May to Bayer Leverkusen, appointing Adolf Hutter (commentators beware), who previously managed Austrian Bundesliga club Grodig and is largely unknown outside Austria.

Unlike Ronny Deila, Hutter has not tried to change Salzburg’s system, but the period of transformation has been blamed for Salzburg failing to overcome Malmo in the Champions League play-off round (Malmo taxed Juventus in Turin last night before two second half Tevez goals settled things).  New instructions, new training techniques and, in some cases, new personnel present challenges.

Ronny has had a few false starts but the return of Scott Brown at the weekend, the return to form of Kris Commons, who will surely start, and the addition of Scepovic, Tonev and Wakaso to the squad give reason for confidence.

‘Ernie have you come to terms with the idea that lots of yes voters are not nats?’

Anyone supporting a yes vote has embraced nationalist ideology, and is therefore a nat.

Why are you so ashamed of being a nat?

Supporters of the corrupt Labour mob continue to use the old sectarian card . It won’t work on many these days thankfully.

Like some sort of fighting fund? Can I be the treasurer? I’m honest, honestly.

Uff, I’ve gone all Ally McCoist again…

Vote no and you wil get boris Johnston as your PM

Isnt that, dare I say, a fear tactic (or it seems you have to use capitals FEAR)?

    How are you voting?

I know where you are coming from.

What appealed to me about Celtic was a sense of belonging and togetherness.

It is receding, not so much here which has been on the whole respectful in any response I have had to points or questions but just that something has been lost no matter the Referendum result.

No amount of sovereignty is worth the loss of that feeling.

    God grant me the serenity

and wisdom to know the difference.

    Living one day at a time;

    Enjoying one moment at a time;

Taking, as He did, this sinful world

    as it is, not as I would have it;

Trusting that He will make all things right

  10. I don’t agree with Ernie, I think he’s sadly mistaken in his views but he like everyone else has a right to hold them. But I don’t see the relevance of whether he is out campaigning in the streets?

  11. I notice the Bookies have Salzburg even stronger favourites for tonight than they were yesterday. Has something happened to weaken our team?

I am the usual mixture of concerned and confident for tonight. I feel we can get a draw or maybe even a narrow victory. On the other hand, with so much unfamiliarity, I a worried about a similar result to those suffered by a couple of decent team in the CL last night.

    Neither has Ernie!

In the event of a YES vote, they have a contingency plan…….

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea

    In a beautiful pea-green boat,

They took some honey, and plenty of money,

Wrapped up in a five-pound note.

The Owl looked up to the stars above,

And sang to a small guitar,

“O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,

What a beautiful Pussy you are,

    You are,

    You are!

What a beautiful Pussy you are!”

If you drop me an e-mail with a number I’ll give you a call.

  15. MWD – well done. Your post actually made me laugh.

If you are interested you can actually get the stats on ethinic minorities on the police scotland website. I couldnt get them for catholics as they lump everyone in on a christian label (something I found quite amusing).

I therefore put in a FOI request. My hunch was that police scotland didnt employ catholics in proportion to the size of the population declaring themselves catholic. I was right – to be honest I thought the figure would be lower than 12% but there is a difference none the less.

You dont need to know the proportion of the other figures if you want to know if catholics are fairly represented by the population of police employees. Theyre not – 12% against 16%.

This information would never sway anyone in the independence debate. It was suppossed to be sent to me a couple of days ago but came in this morning and so I posted it.

You are so caught up in your patriotic fervour that you are outraged that a piece of information arrives that doesnt suit your world view.

I mean you say the following:

Once you provide me that balance I can then determine if there is in fact descrimination towards Catholics within Police Scotland.

Thats simply not true – you can see it just within the figures above. You dont need to know any other proportion to understand the catholic proportion.

You ask have I brought this up before? yes I have, as I have argued well before this independence debate, many of scotlands institutions are institutionally sectarian. I believed the police force is one of them and i decided to see if I could back up that view.

Its massively interesting to me, and harking back to my physchology days, to watch celtic fans take massive linguistic leaps to avoid facing some aspects of reality which are irksome to their position on the referendum.

  16. Well, its the 18th September. the time has come.

I’ve been sick with worry over this vote today.

The enormity of the situation will never be truly understood.

Centuries of history and tradition could be wiped out forever.

I just can’t contemplate the repercussions this could hold.

    What do you think?

Should the Royal & Ancient allow women members??? por cierto

    End of.

And I hope one day to break bread – of at least share a poke of crisps and a pint with neganon.

    Ernie.

Is the logical conclusion that you’re a BritNat?

Sounds unsavoury and a bit Farageish to me.

For the (stuck!) record I’m still an InterNat!

  20. Salzburg will be well organised – they are the best team in Austria.

Our record against alpine (alpine? Cherryade?) opposition has been mixed.

They also have home advantage, and you can hardly say we have a settled team.

Despite all of this, I feel we can take something from the match, I would dearly love our team to click into place, let’s see what RD comes up with- let him have a chance to put his mark on the team, then we can judge.

He says fast attacking football .

    Let’s see it then.

    C’mon celtic
