DEMBELE’S STRIKE TARGET

MOUSSA DEMBELE, last season’s 32-goal man, went into double figures in this campaign with his header in the 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday.

The French Under-21 striker could be running into form and was hoping to be on the target against Dundee at Parkhead this evening before blizzard conditions sweeping the country forced the meeting to be postponed.

Dembele, who claimed his first goal of 2018 in the 3-1 rout of Hearts last month, has 10 Premiership outings and the possibility of three Scottish Cup-ties to pile on the strikes.

Brendan Rodgers’ men are due to face Jim Duffy’s Championship outfit Morton in the quarter-finals in the east end of Glasgow on Saturday.

The champions were confident of three points from the Taysiders in the knowledge they have remained unbeaten in their past 28 league matches against the Dens Park side.

They have been victorious in each of the past five league contests between the teams.

Dundee’s last win against the Hoops came at Parkhead in the Premier League in 2001 and have lost 13 of 14 trips to Glasgow in the top flight since.
