Determined by Dundee

364

It will be 4 May before action resumes at Celtic Park, by then we will know if we have reached the Scottish Cup Final and positions at the top of the table will be significantly determined by Dundee.  I’m pleased our manager has not spent the best part of two weeks throwing material to be pinned to the dressing room door their way.  Maybe Brendan is too experienced to do this?  Maybe he’s just not over-anxious.

We have scored 13 goals in three games against Dundee this season, conceding only once (when we were seven goals ahead), so Brendan Rodgers will have no complaints that the post-split fixtures send us away there, instead of another trip to St Mirren, which was the alternative.

It is also good to get this game out of the way first, leaving us with three games at home from the final four.  All will be difficult, but the incentive is a huge motivation.

Happy to be corrected , but I am sure that when the investigation into corruption in Italy

was carried out they concluded that the dodgy refs didn’t do anything too obvious .

Instead they broke up play for spurious incidents and awarded cards – or didn’t – according to what suited their chosen clubs preferences.

In other words, they tried not to make their decisions so egregious as to be obvious but still made them as effective as they could otherwise.

  5. The long wait is over:

Exactly, no yellows at halftime, despite numerous fouls involving the elbows and pull backs.

I said a few days ago that if you were to analyse the previous 3 derbies you could well find +50 moments of game management by the referee. Although. I would also argue thst the referee is most effective in games with no interest or untelevised games against other teams. Likewise handicapping Celtic in games against lesser teams. When you have a record penalty score matched only by the biggest referee bribery scandal in recent history, then questions have got to be asked. Also watch out for feltic receiving one or 2 dodgy pens (ofcourse only after we are 2 up) just to keep the illusion of honest mistakes relevant

  7. I think they have a handful of players 1 yellow away from a ban.

Explains the reluctance of the mib to play by the rules.

kuhn received a weird yellow for a slight tug on a currant bun

For 3 previous folks or non-foils that he had no involvement in

  9. Cmon Dundee, only55-60 mins away from a draw.

Need a goal to cancel out inevitable tavpen.

  10. Not watching Sevco but reports suggest they’ve struggled a bit. Game in the balance.

  11. I watched the last ten minutes and there were two absolute stick on yellow cards- nobody would have batted an eyelid if it involved any other team. Takes me back to ‘unbookable Barry’
