It’s heartening to see Celtic linked with a raft of players over the weekend and encouraging for many but I’d ignore everything you read about a Celtic target this far out from the transfer window opening. All an agent needs to do is post a DVD to Lennoxtown to be able to legitimately link his player to Celtic. The club will also scout up to 100 players a season, enough to keep you busy on the stats sites for hours, but even Ronny doesn’t know who he will be signing at this stage of the season.
After 11 wins in 13 league games Aberdeen’s title challenge inevitably slipped. They’ve won once since February, coming from behind against Motherwell at Pittodrie, as Celtic, Dundee and Partick Thistle have taken points from them. We are at the stage of the season when injuries, suspensions and fatigue kick in. Whereas Celtic were able to add quality to their squad in January, Aberdeen have to work on a tighter budget. That the gap at the top is only seven points, with Celtic having a game in hand, says a lot for the direction of travel at Aberdeen.
If Ronny gets his treble wish, this season’s title will be a lot tighter than the last treble, won at a canter by Martin O’Neill. It was a weaker league back then, Aberdeen were rubbish.
Talking about direction of travel, have you been watching the ebay auction for Hospitality for four for a day at this year’s Open Golf Championship at St Andrews? This is a unique prize and has attracted some incredible support.
The auction is in aid of the Celtic Quick News appeal to build a fourth school kitchen in Malawi for Mary’s Meals. Shuttle transport for the five minute journey to and from the golf course as needed, with beer, Gin and Whisky tastings throughout the day with the master distiller.
You also have the chance to create a unique CQN single malt whisky cask worth potentially £5000 for future CQN charities, and you will receive a bottle of this very special single malt whisky to commemorate the great day when it is bottled in several years.
Eden Mill is Scotland’s newest and most innovative distillery and brewery incorporated in February 2012! Located just 2 miles from the famous Old Course itself it provides a perfect base for hospitality for yourself and 3 friends on a day of your choosing at the forthcoming open golf championship on July 16th to 19th.
But this is so much more than just a day’s hospitality at the home of golf. Before taking to the course to watch, you will enjoy a breakfast roll or two and discuss your perfect single malt whisky with the master distiller.
Whilst you and your friends are enjoying the golf he will seek to surpass your favourite whisky by using the best barley to create the right wash and recommending the right type of barrels for our very own unique CQN 1/4 cask of single malt. A cask which will mature and provide over £5000 of future funding for our charities in a few years’ time.
You will return to the distillery by shuttle bus for lunch and an optional beer tasting and then for afternoon tea with a tutored gin and whisky tasting with the owner capping off a memorable, unique and very special day for your group and for CQN.
My thanks to Eden Mill for their incredible support. You can bid on the auction here.

Why don’t you see the club and get a area where you call CQN corner for a brick Memorial
That is a very good thought unfortunately where the coarner is (at the entrance to the pools office) the area isnt one where the bricks are laid

Thanks. Dogged by injuries early in campaign but inconsistent now. Entry into Europa guarantees 150k which would make or break Cliftonvilles season next year. Beat Portadown 5 on Saturday at that stage they were closest challengers.
Beaten by Glenavon today 5-0. Now they are closest challengers.

That rebel CQN breakaway gang meet at the gazebo which is in the paved area I think

Hi Fine Tim. What is to stop us bringing inkies and having a diy job on the ground where we meet. In Glesga Menshy style. :))

www GBOW,
Sorry useless with a key board. I had an uncle pass away in Canada last year and it was nice to go to the page and leave a message.
I just thought it would be respectful for the families in a CQN context to be able to do the same.
As ever in Glasgow it would need moderation.

not sure but if it was at all possible placing a brick there would be very fitting (imo)

Just catching up. If it is of assistance TBJ can use the payment cart at cqnbookstore.com for the cash collection. There is a small fee to Stripe for the payment process but the rest of the funds would be available.
We funded the Herald ad via a raffle mechanic at £5 a ticket with options to buy 1,2 , 4 or 10 tickets and all these options were popular. Happy to put in CQn books as prizes and am sure others would contribute.
If it is of interest let me know the wording and I will add to Cqnbookstore.com
Happy to post on CQNMagazine.com and the Facebook page when have all the info.

Tuesday night quiz: Who said this?
“I must be the most scrutinised candidate in Scottish football history but accept this as being preferable to the lack of scrutiny that has been the case in Rangers recent past – and possibly other clubs.”
Was it?
a) Walter Smith
b) Paul Murray
c) Sir (still) David Murray
d) Mike Ashley
e) Charles Green
f) Craig Whyte
g) Imran Ahmed
h) A Park Coach
i) Alistair Johnson
j) A blue bear
k) a Nameless Nomad
l) a wee boy from Castlemilk
m) All of the above
That wee boy from Castlemilk should be making the tea in a South African jail.
But he is admirable director quality in the modern Scotland.

Many thanks for taking the time to relate your Dortmund experience.
I think Celtic have been looking, listening and learning to an extent.
Maybe time to be a leader and not a follower?
My team will always be Celtic but my local team are Ross County. They foster a great family friendly atmosphere but could do much more to make people make a day out of a home match. Reduce, dramatically, ticket prices but entice people by offering a proper match day experience that involves more than 90 minutes and a trip to the pie stall. Then I would attend several times a season and not just sporadically….

My Cqn email isn’t working at moment due to ongoing work on the site but you can try David at Tilllatemagazine dot com
On Two Footed Celts…
Did you know all Celtic players from the youngest levels up and now wearing white bands on their weaker foot so that the coaches know they are working on being two footed. Apparently it’s already working a treat with the development Bhoys eager to improve and use their weaker foot much more.
Ronny’s making it happen….

IF YOU KNOW THE HISTORY. CELTS GET 3 AT HAMPDEN & PAPER EXAMINES THE ISSUE OF “THE BRITISH HUNS”!
http://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/1915-04-05%3A+Queen%27s+Park+0-3+Celtic%2C+League+Division+1
*one of the players mentioned in the Celtic team is Johnny Browning who was part of our 6-in-a-row side. He was Willie Maley’s first signing from Vale of Leven, he also played for Bonhill Hibs and Dumbarton Harp, as he created his 2nd great Celtic side.
After leaving Celtic he was playing for Dumbarton when he was found guilty along with former deid team player Archie Kyle of attempting to bribe Bo’ness player Peter Brown in a public house in Glasgow’s Dundas Street: both men were sentenced to 60 days’ hard labour.
Archie Kyle was the grandfather of Celtic supporter and blues singer Frankie Miller.

Absolutely no offence ever taken.
You were/are right. I have to make special arrangements to see the tunnel brick, but on the other hand it does mean that everyone who does the tour of the stadium will see the tunnel brick – and no morons will stand on it. :o)
We put different messages on them.
We just liked the thought of even just one Celtic player looking at Tony’s brick as they step out on to field. Comfort for us probably, but still a great thought to have Tims as close to the action as that.
Thanks www GBOW,
