Do our job and hope Killie struggle at Aberdeen

Celtic’s run of games at home against low ranking teams continue tomorrow against Hamilton Academical.  These matches are always straightforward on paper but it takes lots of energy to subvert any team of professionals.  If we get a comparable performance in the opening period to what was on display against Airdrie and St Mirren, Accies will be in for a difficult afternoon.

Assuming Celtic do their job right, we can hope that Aberdeen take something from Kilmarnock at Pittidrie.  Killie are currently only a point off the pace, although Celtic have a game in hand, against St Johnstone next midweek.

With his new strikers playing so well, Brendan Rodgers will be in no hurry to rush Odsonne Edouard back.  I am also keen to see more of Ewan Henderson.

I once heard “We gave the world Hugh McIlvanney.” He was good enough to be a national boast.  He lilov Big Jock too. Sigh.

    Going rate for such talent and experience would be £250K plus a bonus.

     

    We are paying well over odds for mediocrity.

    I’m fairly sure that the beautiful designs in snowflakes are not by chance.

     

     

    And the beautiful snowflakes follow the rules of this planet the same as the illnesses that ravage children’s bodies. Or the droughts that deny life to all around.

     

     

    With respect, I find a common theme of worshippers is never to really question why a higher being would allow the bad stuff to occur.

    Hey there DD – I assume you enjoyed Amsterdam – me and Wee BGFC were following your adventures. I had forgotten about TD – seem to remember him being bullied out o’ here. He OK? Sorry, but we’re not in to the Cinnamon fella but delighted (although not surprised) that you enjoyed yerself.

     

     

    Comment earlier on from BRENDANLARSSON to PETEC aligning beautiful designs in snowflakes with illnesses that ravage children’s bodies.

     

     

    I agree both are natural occurrences – however, many illnesseses that have ravaged human populations in the past few hudred years are exascerbated by the unprecedented growth of, and interaction with, other human populations – for example the spread of ‘western’ diseases though indigenous populations in the Americas.

     

     

    In terms of the droughts that deny life to all around – increasingly the evidence is that many are, if not man-made, then at least exascerbated by humans – or at least the growth of human populations in areas that are not able to sustain them.

     

     

    This is possibly not, therefore, as relevant a comparison. – i.e., many droughts are nature’s ‘natural’ reaction to human interventions, whilst the shape and beauty of snowflakes are not diminished by human interaction.
