Do our job and hope Killie struggle at Aberdeen

483

Celtic’s run of games at home against low ranking teams continue tomorrow against Hamilton Academical.  These matches are always straightforward on paper but it takes lots of energy to subvert any team of professionals.  If we get a comparable performance in the opening period to what was on display against Airdrie and St Mirren, Accies will be in for a difficult afternoon.

Assuming Celtic do their job right, we can hope that Aberdeen take something from Kilmarnock at Pittidrie.  Killie are currently only a point off the pace, although Celtic have a game in hand, against St Johnstone next midweek.

With his new strikers playing so well, Brendan Rodgers will be in no hurry to rush Odsonne Edouard back.  I am also keen to see more of Ewan Henderson.

I once heard “We gave the world Hugh McIlvanney.” He was good enough to be a national boast.  He lilov Big Jock too. Sigh.

  1. TW — he helps old ladies across the road, rescues kittens from tall trees and will start giving lessons to Ludge MIB on the laws of the game.

Going to be a bit crowded regarding attacking options.

Hoping that MJ and IB / new Bloke get some game time soon.

Might allow JF and ScS to have some time off.

Interesting that as more forwards join the squad ScS suddenly finds some form.

Looking like 7 potentials for 3 positions.

Plus another possibly on his way.

    Can anyone play RB.

NEIL LENNON was last night sensationally on the way out of Hibs after being SUSPENDED by chief executive Leeann Dempster.

SunSport understands his two and half year reign as boss looks to be over following a dramatic exchange with Dempster in the immediate aftermath of a full and frank exchange with his first team squad at the East Mains training squad.

Lennon has been furious with performances and a five game league run without a win with matters coming to head following Wednesday night’s 1-0 defeat at Motherwell.

The 47-year-old let rip at his players, making it clear there had to be immediate improvement starting with Sunday’s game against rock bottom St Mirren.

But it’s understood soon after the squad summit Dempster dramatically got involved and Lennon was told he was to step aside pending the results of a club probe.

No2 Garry Parker and the rest of the backroom staff are believed to be furious with the shock action against Lennon and 100-per-cent supportive of the Northern Irishman.

As of late last night it was unclear who would be taking charge of the match against the Saints in Paisley.

Ex-Celtic boss Lennon is under contract until 2020 – but now it looks highly likely he will be heading out of Easter Road.

He replaced Alan Stubbs in 2016 a month after the historic Scottish Cup triumph over Rangers and in his first season guided the Hibees back to the Premiership as Championship winners.

Last season they finished fourth but this term they sit eighth

We have more than half of 43 million in the bank and its all relative anyway. We are not shopping in the same market as west ham or any other premier league club, which is ok by me.

We have more than enough money to fund the purchase a quality (relative speaking) rightback and centre bank. strenthening these two areas would make a big, big difference to our preformances. Follow the same model as before i.e young up and coming prospects etc… but these are several difference group i.e. academy graduates, under 19s who can be picked up for buttons and developed in the academy and highly sought after boys in late teens, early twenties than cost several million pounds.

The wages for 3 or 4 highly sought after players will be more than covered when we have a major cull at end of season what with Brown, lustig, gamboa boyata, allan, ddv and izzy costing us the best part of 100k a week.

i have no idea how much Benkovic, Burke and Weah cost per week but would hazard a guess its not less than 60k a week.

We then have a further group of players who could leave tomorrow without anyone noticing such as, henry, mulumba, miller, benyu, hayes, arzani, bitton and compper who combined likely cost the club another 80k a week.

More and More are getting there…… an impossible route to be honest, the very best get there – thankfully so many cracking players coming through the Celtic System go on to have good careers playing the game we All Love elsewhere.

Respect JJ for doing his best for his current team – I’d do my best against Celtic if I was ever in that situation.

Spending money on the CEO’s bonus is not going to help.
